Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

In the hall of East View City, a blonde figure holds a long pen, reviewing various documents.

Iyas neither understands what the documents say nor knows how to dispose of them, merely pretends to review them as Yang Yu requires, signing and stamping the documents she likes.

Yang Yu originally intended to bring Ming Dalak here, but considering various risks, he decided to have Iyas pose as Ming Dalak until the plan is completed.

Iyas initially wanted to refuse, although she and Ming Dalak are both elves, there are significant differences.

Especially the gender difference, how to disguise that! Pretending to be Ming Dalak would definitely be quickly exposed!

Yang Yu said there was no problem; with Bai Jin’s help, he used a series of methods to solve Iyas’s issues in impersonating Ming Dalak.

For the smooth execution of the plan, Iyas endured the daily pain of her chest being bound, wearing loose robes, carrying out Yang Yu’s instructions.

Elf Yue Leina, with half an eye covered by her bangs, walked into where Iyas was working and said:

”Governor, the commander has urgent matters, please put down your work and follow me.”

”Really?” Iyas beamed, unless the plan progressed, Yang Yu wouldn’t call her; she was finally about to say goodbye to this damned work.

Yue Leina glared harshly at Iyas, seemingly reminding her to watch her identity and not blow her cover.

Showing an awkward smile, Iyas cleared her throat and said in a deep voice:

”Lead the way!”

Following Yue Leina, Iyas walked past the City Lord Mansion, entered a dim basement, passed through layers of barriers, and met with Yang Yu and the others.

As Iyas thought, the plan indeed progressed.

However, Yang Yu called her not to layout the next step of the plan, but to explain the situation to Wan Huawen.

After listening to Yang Yu’s explanation and seeing Iyas impersonating Ming Dalak, Wan Huawen suddenly understood:

”From afar, you look just like Governor Ming Dalak.

If not examined closely, indeed difficult to spot any difference.

The time I saw her happened to be her patrol...

If the adversary has other means of reconnaissance and sees the impostor, it strengthens their resolve to move forward here.

They will come with unprecedented vigilance, and we will engage in the final ’showdown’, with the Demon King potentially arriving.

Thus, this cannot become a battlefield.

According to their route, we must engage them when they are two or three major cities away, deciding victory or defeat.

We will prepare in advance.

At that time, please appear as reinforcements, drawing all their attention to yourself.” Yang Yu smiled.

Wan Huawen understood: ”What details should be noted?”

”Just don’t expose that thing.

The snow will fall; the effect on the plain requires time to activate.

...Use it at the most critical moment.

I will switch with you at the right time, adapting to the situation as needed.

For now, what is needed is waiting.

You and some of your clan members rest here, pretend to settle down.

Until Ammonval is defeated, do not relax for a moment.

Otherwise, you may lose everything.”

Yang Yu knew Wan Huawen’s character; there was no need to emphasize again, but he felt he should say something.

This wasn’t to stabilize those present, but to stabilize himself.

Everything has gone smoothly thus far.

Many, including Yang Yu in the past, might, because of this smoothness, become arrogant, thinking whatever they do next is right, that they are the guiding light for others.

Such arrogance ultimately leads to failure.

Sometimes, even those in high positions cannot escape.

Yang Yu didn’t want to be swayed by smoothness like before; he needed to occasionally remind himself.

In the following days, using the pre-established intelligence system, Yang Yu and his team patiently awaited Ammonval’s arrival.

The Sailuomen Plain is vast, and East View City, as a strategic crossroads, can be approached in various ways.

Yet, the Demon King Army led by Ammonval didn’t make any detours, always taking the shortest route toward East View City, sending only a part of his forces to spread around, ensuring a clear path behind them, avoiding being easily cut off from retreat by the Wansheng Republic troops.

Unresentingly, Ammonval approached within five or six major cities’ distance from Yang Yu and his team.

The timing was finally right, and Yang Yu began issuing subsequent commands to his companions.

The first to act was the magician from the All Things Library.

Weather magic, after all, is magic, and casting it produces magic fluctuations.

As the Demon Clan, Ammonval and his subordinates could detect large weather magic release from several kilometers away, hence they would become alert.

During the waiting period for Ammonval, Yang Yu and the others thoroughly exchanged their opinions, optimizing certain details of the plan to fit the reality.

When weather magic unfolds, it produces magic fluctuations, but maintaining it doesn’t require much magic, hence it emits fewer magic fluctuations.

Generally, unless a mage is extremely close to the clouds, they cannot detect this portion of magic.

Handling the magic fluctuations occurring during the unfolding of weather magic can minimize the exposure risk of the plan.

This part of the work was completed by Bai Jin, Li Yan, and Tico, who constructed a complex barrier that weakens magic fluctuations, capable of absorbing and storing weather magic’s magic fluctuations during its unfolding, then feeding the magic back into the weather magic after full deployment.

In the blink of an eye, the sky over a fortress was filled with dark clouds, black clouds surging, seemingly a storm was imminent.

After confirming no excess magic fluctuation had leaked from the magic, Li Yan flew on a book into the sky for detailed adjustments to the dark clouds spread across the sky.

The color of the dark clouds gradually faded, now appearing as mere overcast, not as if a storm’s imminent.

Subsequently, members responsible for weather magic hovered above the clouds.

They maintained contact using the communication device researched by Fuer Maling.

After Wan Huawen officially engaged Ammonval, they would join efforts to let the fortress vicinity have a snowstorm.

Later, Wan Huawen led the elite troops to depart from East View City’s front gate, pretending to follow some orders, racing towards the darkened city for ”support.”

Yang Yu and his companions, however, used pre-arranged teleportation magic, arriving at the fortress early, utilizing the Shark Catching Spear acquired from the Lamia Clan to create an area without any characteristic magic leaking, hiding within.

Even if magic swept over the fortress, it would be hard to detect their presence.

The last to act was Iyas.

As Ming Dalak’s stand-in, she needs to pretend there is an urgent matter after the official start of the great battle, proceeding to Yang Yu’s secret base for the Magicians there to perform teleportation magic.

As the team’s Priest, Iyas not only needs to provide assistance when someone is injured but must also use the Holy Light Acceleration Stone to execute powerful control when Ammonval attempts to escape again, restricting his retreat.
