Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

A sharp turn in the road.

Humans found a glimmer of hope in their fight against the angels.

To lure the goddess into a trap unawares, human leaders demarcated a large area to showcase magical achievements.

On that day, everyone within the area was injected with the special magic-resistant vaccine.

Once injected with the magic-resistant vaccine, they can be free from the negative effects of magic power for a certain period.

Those injected also included angels and the goddess.

Although the angels and goddess initially did not show any discomfort, the vaccine, made from magic compounds, did indeed affect the angels’ power.

The angels heavily wounded by human death soldiers were precisely those injected with the vaccine.

The vaccine developed by humans can protect ordinary humans from the effects of magic power for a month.

The only drawback is that if humans engage in intense physical activity, the vaccine’s effectiveness greatly diminishes.

For angels, the effect is quite the opposite. The vaccine lasts longer in their bodies, and if they move intensely, the effect significantly increases.

Careful observation led to a definitive discovery.

This discovery gave Fengte more confidence.

Magic power transformed from ”bait” to weapon.

In several small-scale operations, the effects of magic power on angels were verified.

Bullets containing magic power and magical attacks using magic power were highly effective, easily inflicting damage on angels.

This was undoubtedly exhilarating news, as many wavering members of the Main War Faction resolidified their stance on that side.

The current issue is how to obtain a large amount of usable magic power to completely encircle the angels.

The plan to create subhumans and the idea of constructing barriers using magic emerged.

Researchers also considered using smaller, nested machines to produce magic power, but due to the precision required for producing magic power being extremely high, even some experimental versions of mini-machines failed to achieve precision, making mass production of magic power difficult.

Many tasks could be handled by machinery, but at the time, the bottleneck seemed to require a tiny being.

Thus, humanity’s first subhuman creation plan was brought to the forefront.

The technology of human miniaturization quickly achieved unprecedented breakthroughs, though not as imagined.

Previously, miniaturization technology could at most return someone to a child’s height, with the ability to revert back afterward.

However, theoretically becoming palm-sized makes it extremely difficult to revert.

So, researchers adopted a very ingenious approach, installing chips in the manufactured tiny beings to connect with real human consciousness.

Each fairy was merely a vessel, with the real person connected to instruments being the one manipulating their consciousness.

There was no time to worry about so much; Fengte immediately approved this magic production method with those supporting the rebellion against the goddess, placing a large number of people into palm-sized bodies to participate in the creation of magic power.

Respect for life has always been an important teaching of Luka Teachings.

Many people understood it then as not wantonly creating or modifying life, or violating the principles of life. They were very conservative adherents of Luka Teachings.

They strongly opposed mankind’s direct alteration of other species’ genes, let alone creating life from nothing.

Led by Fengte, a group of people became adherents of New Lukaism, upholding the creed that humans stand out among countless species, bearing the responsibility and obligation to win in the competition with other civilizations and establish a larger civilization, so as to not shame their heritage as Luka’s descendants.

Survival and adaptation are indispensable parts of life.

What’s wrong with creating fighters to cooperate in battle to defeat the alien civilization masquerading as a goddess and pave the way for a brighter future?

Many plans from that time onward were not disclosed to the public.

Fengte believed that once they thoroughly defeated the goddess and proved that she was nothing but a false pretense, the public would gradually understand everything they did.

From that point, a mad plan was pushed onto the agenda.

The research on magic power enrichment phenomena was completely liberated.

One branch of this technology created monsters with stable entities within mazes.

To secure enough time for development, Fengte proactively hosted several apologies, claiming they would return the goddess, but that opening the device sealing the goddess might cause irreversible harm.

The angels raised many doubts, all of which were deflected by Fengte’s aides.

Humans gained a significant amount of time.

Because many people were inspired by the call to ”defeat the goddess, shatter lies”, they obtained a vast array of magic power knowledge from massive machinery, and humans began advancing rapidly on the magical level.

Then, when the angels’ patience was nearly worn thin.

Fengte personally led the first batch of subhuman troops into battle.

This batch of subhuman troops bore more or less features of other mammals.

To prove the safety of genes manipulated to adapt to magic power, those genes were first transferred to various mammals.

A soldier suggested, ”Anyway, if they’re going to die on the battlefield, can you give me a pair of cat ears during the gene modification for magic adaptation?” Researchers specially implanted a gene for cat ears while embedding magic adaptation genes.

Upon seeing this, other soldiers followed suit, seeking the animal traits they desired from researchers.

As for some poorly fused animal traits, that’s another story.

Subhumans with implanted magic adaptation genes debuted and immediately showcased overwhelming power, easily defeating angels attacking once again using magic power sealed within barriers.

This complete victory did not scare away the angels.

On the planet where the goddess resides, waves of angels with wings were sent to distant battlefields.

Unbeknownst to them, waiting for them was a tragedy.

Through repeated experiments on captured angels, human researchers discovered the secrets of magic power’s effect on angels, thereby developing a very ferocious magic potion.

Once that magic potion is injected into an angel’s body, it causes temporary disruption of the angel’s Holy Light, rendering them incapable of fighting.

The first use of this potion by Asian Soldiers uncovered a side effect where it prevents angels from ever growing wings again.

Wingless angels look just like slightly prettier humans.

These captured angels were uniformly held in a giant prison, managed by Asian Soldiers.

They will become a crucial bargaining chip for negotiating with the ”goddess” civilization, Fengte believed the use of these ”broken-winged angels” would thoroughly prove the falsehood of the ”goddess”.

Yet, this pleasant imagination of his was completely shattered by a major incident at the time.

Someone broke into the place where they held the angels!
