Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

A skill that limits recovery, and it’s even more overbearing than Bai Jin’s [Healing Forbidden].

[Healing Forbidden] at least allows for half recovery, but this skill directly prohibits any recovery.

Clicking open the icon, a ”rusty” icon appeared on Yang Yu’s status bar.

The icon doesn’t have any duration; as long as he stays within the [Corrosion and Rust] Barrier, the recovery prohibition effect remains.

Judging from what the Demon King just said, the Demon King is also affected by this skill.

Indeed, as the Demon King said, if neither side paid the price and continued using potions, the outcome would remain unknown indefinitely.

With this skill, neither side can recover, making it absolutely ”fair.”

The issue is, if you were going to use this skill, why not use it earlier? Using it now, what does that mean?

Perhaps...

This was all calculated by the Demon King long ago.

The Demon King, skilled in all kinds of magic, must have also known that some skills have a cost when used.

The Demon King knew he had [Double-sided Slash] and some self-consuming life value skills, which is why he allowed him to attack.

Facing a tough opponent, letting him self-consume and then delivering the final blow is also a good strategy.

Is it already a dead-end situation...

Yang Yu gripped the Black Tachi tightly; although he didn’t want to admit it, it seemed impossible to find a way to break through using his own abilities.

It was like a level where a crumbling brick was needed to proceed, but the brick accidentally broke... although he’s not dead, the only option is to step into the abyss and restart...

With potions providing margin for error, Yang Yu dared to traverse through the layers of magic.

He thought even if struck by a skill that reduced recovery, he could drag out the skill effect through maneuvering, but who knew someone would trap him from the outside.

Affected by the [Unyielding to Despair] effect, Yang Yu’s attributes increased significantly.

But facing the Demon King’s overwhelming attack, wanting to stay unharmed is almost impossible.

Besides sword and armor, the Demon King hadn’t yet shown the effects of other equipment.

Perhaps, to the Demon King, other equipment is unnecessary; his magic use is enough to handle most situations, making his equipment merely complementary.

A gap appeared in the dark clouds in the sky, sunlight poured onto the desolate battlefield but not on Yang Yu, like a bad omen.

It seemed to say that some are destined to sink into the darkness of history before light can arrive.

Taking out the [Broken Cocoon Butterfly], positioning himself, Yang Yu smiled.

He never thought about how warm it would be if the sunlight shone on him, nor if that light would give him different strength.

There wasn’t much operational space, and it was uncertain if the Four Heavenly Kings would intervene in the fight, yet Yang Yu smiled.

”Since Lord Demon King says so.

I will acknowledge Lord Demon King’s cheating this time.

However, Lord Demon King shouldn’t regret, as this skill’s effect applies to you too.

This means, I don’t have to worry about Lord Demon King suddenly recovering.”

One step, two steps, Yang Yu ran forward, not fast, as if already exhausted.

Without warning, Yang Yu’s figure completely vanished from where he stood.

In just a breath, Yang Yu appeared before the Demon King, the sharp sword blade tracing a shining arc.

The Demon King raised the Black Sword to block, but the sharp sword blade penetrated Yang Yu’s body, drawing an arc in the air.

The Yang Yu before him was just a shadow! The real Yang Yu had already circled behind him!

In an instant, the Demon King’s back was showered with countless sparks, and Yang Yu launched quick and dense attacks, rapidly reducing the Demon King’s blood volume.

Stomping the ground hard, a complex magic array swiftly unfolded beneath the Demon King, and a vast gravity field, centered on the Demon King, rapidly expanded.

Yang Yu’s speed suddenly slowed, black currents flickered on the Demon King’s sword blade, reaching Yang Yu in a blink.

Speed suddenly increased, Yang Yu shifted right to avoid the Deceitful Emperor’s attack.

Indeed, Yang Yu’s speed was affected by the gravity field, but his attributes almost doubled, so how could he not dodge the Demon King’s attack?

Slowing down was merely to trick the Demon King into attacking, using the Deceitful Emperor’s attack’s slight stiffness to create operational space for himself.

Taking two or three steps forward, Yang Yu’s sharp sword blade repeatedly struck against the black armor, sparking brilliant light.

In the melee of blades and swords, the Demon King raised his sword but could barely withstand a few strokes.

The Demon King focused his gaze and gave up defending, stabbing the black sword into the ground, and a complex magic array quickly spread along the previous gravity field.

Thin ice cones rose from the ground densely covering the floor.

Every ice cone Yang Yu stepped on inflicted minor true damage on him.

The Demon King wanted to make every step Yang Yu took lead to his own demise!

Yang Yu wouldn’t foolishly step onto the ice cones; black spurs grew on his shield, offsetting the damage from traversing the ice cones.

The sharp sword blade thrust towards the Demon King, who extended his hand, forming a shield of magic power before him.

Yang Yu made a motion to swing his blade but appeared at the Demon King’s back the next second.

Half-crouching to the ground, the shield was skewed into the earth, and countless thorns surged from the ground, circled around Yang Yu’s shield, seized the Demon King, pulling him toward Yang Yu’s shield.

Unfortunately, Yang Yu’s plan failed, as black flames appeared where the thorns ensnared the Demon King, instantly burning Yang Yu’s thorns to ashes.

No choice, Yang Yu changed strategy, transformed into a red bullet charged forward, using pure brute force to push the Demon King out from the array’s center.

The painful ice crystals disappeared instantly.

However, this allowed the Demon King to find an opportunity, driving magic power towards Yang Yu behind the shield.

Who would have thought Yang Yu had already let go of the shield, stepping swiftly towards the shield’s direction, sword blade aiming unhesitatingly at the Deceitful Emperor’s chest.

A sharp, piercing collision sounded, and Yang Yu’s sword blade ultimately couldn’t pierce the Demon King’s black armor, repelled several meters back, and the [Broken Cocoon Butterfly] aiding his attack was torn again by the Demon King’s magic, progress halted at ninety-nine percent, unable to turn cocoon to butterfly.

”You truly surprise me, further strengthening my resolve to eliminate you.”

The Demon King steadied his posture, unmoved by Yang Yu’s subsequent attacks, rapidly incanting a spell.

The ground once covered in icy layers burned with blossoms of fire, forming a massive array.

A cyan flame icon emerged on Yang Yu.

It’s the [Ghost Fire Roasting Array]!

The Demon King surprisingly uses this move as well; just moving on this flame-formed massive array resulted in continuous ghost fire roasting, continuously losing blood.

The Deceitful Emperor’s strategy is crystal clear; just deplete the last bit of Yang Yu’s blood bar, and victory would be his!

Yang Yu’s blood volume slowly trickled away, though not much, it seemed to signal the countdown to Yang Yu’s death.

Taking a deep breath, Yang Yu seemed to accept this outcome, having no means to dispel the [Ghost Fire Roasting Array], his time was running short.

Just as Yang Yu began to despair, two gigantic sounds echoed from afar.

In an instant, hope rekindled in Yang Yu’s eyes.
