Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Wearing a purple military uniform, the Nine-Life Cat Demon Duo Luo finished his speech, and thunderous cheers erupted from below, boosting the morale considerably.

Duo Luo turned around, gazing at the enormous high tower not far from the center.

Inside that tower, there exists a Queen who looks down upon all, treating their precious memories as trash.

Countless Nine-Life Cats believe that as long as they can overthrow the Queen who has always destroyed their memories, their world will usher in a new dawn.

Sooner or later, their memories will be completely erased by that Queen, and if so, it’s better to gamble all their present memories for the future.

Duo Luo raised his cat paw high to the sky, commanding the cats:

”The time has come! All forces attack! Determine victory or defeat!”

Weapons strapped to their backs, the Nine-Life Cat Demons, led by Duo Luo, resolutely embarked on their journey to the tower.

The Nine-Life Cat Guards who defended the tower caught wind of the Resistance Army’s approach, each ready to offer their lives for the Queen they served.

A great battle is about to break out!

The Nine-Life Cat Demon Resistance Army, fearlessly launching an attack on the heavily guarded tower!

Swift figures rolled through the streets like waves, standing partially upright, picking up handy weapons.

The Queen’s Guard defending the tower erected forts nearby, forced to stand half-upright and pick up weapons for defense.

Just as the Queen’s Guard drew their weapons, two huge cannonballs flew in from afar, exploding and blasting two massive gaps in the forts built by the Guard.

The Resistance Army’s Nine-Life Cats threw themselves towards the gap, as if they were unafraid to die.

Thunderous cannon sounds echoed through the streets of Cat City, reaching Lotcar’s ears.

Lotcar immediately reported the sounds heard to Yang Yu:

”I heard something from very far away.

Seems like explosion sounds... and the clash of swords.

What you guessed might be right.”

Dark Cloud trembled all over; his prayers ultimately didn’t work, and the Resistance was exposed.

”Are you a participant in this war, standing on the side of the Resistance?

Were you assigned to guard that relic to prevent other forces from intervening in your war?

Answer me.

Why are you fighting? What are you afraid of?”

Yang Yu pressed forward aggressively, Dark Cloud opened his mouth wide, eyes rolling within their sockets, desperately seeking a way.

Since Yang Yu and the others are already here and can’t be stopped, is there a way to change the approach, find a way to completely cover the truth, persuade them to resist the Nine-Life Cat Demon Queen’s tyranny together.

With a series of sighs, Dark Cloud spoke helplessly:

”It’s a long story.

I prevented your arrival here out of sheer helplessness.

Actually, great upheavals have occurred in our Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom.

This all started decades ago...”

Leading the way for Yang Yu and the others, Dark Cloud narrated the story he had conjured up.

The core of the story was that the Nine-Life Cat Demon Resistance Army was fighting for justice.

The Queen currently ruling them was thoroughly corrupted by some Dark Power decades ago, intending to wipe out all memories of the Nine-Life Cat Demons, terminate their mission, and utterly destroy the entire Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom.

The destruction of the Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom will inevitably affect the outside world.

Within the relic visited by Yang Yu and the others, existed some method to completely sever the connection between the Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom and the real world before its destruction, preventing its downfall from affecting the real world.

Dark Cloud and his associated Resistance did not want the Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom to be completely destroyed, but rather save this world using their approach, thus Dark Cloud accepted the task to visit the real world, guarding against unexpected mishaps.

”What do you think? Do you believe what he says?” Yang Yu asked everyone.

Almost everyone shook their heads; Dark Cloud’s words sounded credible, but precisely because they sounded credible, they were deemed untrustworthy.

However, they likely mixed truth with fiction, containing some real intelligence.

After hearing Bai Jin’s analysis, Dark Cloud had only one thought: MMP. If they weren’t going to believe him, they should’ve said so earlier, sparing him so much wasted breath.

Helpless, Dark Cloud could only pin his hopes on his partners.

Riding on the giant Lotcar, Yang Yu and the others sped towards the direction of the sounds.

Appearing in the Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom, Yang Yu and the others counted as replicas of their wills, similar to the first layer of the Hall of History, with copies of their abilities and tools existing in this vast Cat City.

Unlike the Hall of History, when Yang Yu and the others got hurt, what emerged wasn’t blood but golden light.

Getting closer to the battle location, chaotic noises entered everyone’s ears.

Smoke filled the air, countless Nine-Life Cat Demons traversed through it.

A bit different from the imagined battle, the fight among the Nine-Life Cat Demons wasn’t about magic duels or conjuring giant cats for fierce combat.

Most Nine-Life Cat Demons navigated through various covers wielding submachine guns in gunfights, while a few drew swords from their waists braving hail of bullets, engaging in bam close combat.

Bullets shooting ’biubiu’ and various bomb explosion sounds were incessant, a vivid near-modern warfare.

Numerous sturdy buildings were shattered by gunfire, yet within minutes, buildings once demolished were rapidly rebuilt visible to the naked eye.

Bai Jin and the others all turned to Yang Yu, awaiting Yang Yu’s orders.

Yang Yu activated the system, and the massive high tower revealed its name ”Queen’s Tower.”

No doubt, this is where the Nine-Life Cat Demon Queen resides.

Yang Yu didn’t intend to intervene in the Nine-Life Cat Demons’ war, at least not before meeting the Queen.

Per typical game design, defeating the Resistance is probably the task of the Nine-Life Cat Demon Queen, solving this task will make the Nine-Life Cat Demon Queen decipher that book for them.

If he prematurely dealt with these Nine-Life Cats, he’d lose the bargaining chip with the Queen.

Yang Yu was about to call Bai Jin and Tico to find another entrance to the tower, bypassing the fierce battle, when suddenly, Dark Cloud raised his head and shouted loudly:

”Everyone listen up.

Humans have appeared in our Nine-Life Cat Demon Kingdom, presumably here to find the Queen, with requests from her.

They may very well be our enemies.

I have been controlled by them, leading them here all the way, but I can’t make another mistake, hurry someone to stop them!”

Dark Cloud’s voice instantly rang through the battlefield, and two battling Nine-Life Cats jointly halted their knife clash, eyes turned with all the other Nine-Life Cats towards the direction of the voice.
