Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Investigating the reasons behind the expansion of the Goddess Sect is crucial; we cannot let this hard-earned world system be threatened.”

Under the directive of the higher-ups, various investigation teams infiltrated the strongholds of the Goddess Sect to conduct their investigations.

However, not only did many team members fail to bring back any advantageous information, but they also fell into the belief of the Goddess Sect themselves, beginning to provide intelligence from the human high-levels to the Goddess Sect, becoming double agents.

Within the Goddess Sect, there are many who inherit knowledge, proficient in human weaknesses, and excel at brainwashing and manipulating group behavior.

They are fully aware of what the true meaning behind the emergence of the Luka Sect is, but they do not acknowledge the Luka Sect, rejecting its goals, intending to replace it from the ground up.

Bad people themselves are not terrifying. What is terrifying is a bad person, possessing vast knowledge and great strength, with the capital to overturn the world.

The appearance of the goddess is a tremendous opportunity for them.

They grasped this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, letting skepticism and nihilism run rampant in society, distorting and attacking the Luka Teachings.

More frightening, some who live in the open and are supposed to lead the lost forward are also swept along by the masses and phenomena, falling into layers of fog, losing their judgment.

”Based on our investigations, the goddess’s strength indeed intervened. She secretly granted some people good luck, making the believers even more convinced of her goddess status.”

”I feel that such judgment shouldn’t be rushed. Perhaps, everything is simply coincidental.”

”I don’t think it’s coincidental. There must be some massive conspiracy. Surely, it’s to block our technology and prevent progress?”

”Agreed. The speed of technological advancement has indeed slowed significantly in recent years.”

”With the capacity of our human brains, it’s impossible to inherit all knowledge.

You feel the speed of technological progress has noticeably slowed because we’ve picked all the low-hanging fruits.

I think this is a normal phenomenon.”

”Perhaps, we are on the verge of a breakthrough, not far from understanding the ultimate mysteries of the universe.

The goddess doesn’t want us to reach the ultimate mysteries of the universe, so she uses this technological slowdown, creating obstacles without detection, causing our societal civilization to stagnate.”

”This possibility cannot be ruled out. However... there’s no evidence proving it’s the goddess’s doing. I think it’s better to confront the goddess directly.”

”If you confront her, she’ll surely deny everything. Who would so blatantly disclose their plans?

The current momentum of the Goddess Sect is almost unstoppable.

Contacting the goddess will give her time to prepare, ensuring her plans succeed.”

...

...

The human high levels were in a flurry of debate, each holding their opinions, leading to many disagreements on whether or not to change their attitude towards the goddess.

Repeated intense discussions did not reduce the disagreements; instead, they grew even larger.

Ultimately, the human high levels adopted the most primitive method, using a vote to express their clear opinions.

And a resolution was passed at that time by a vote of seven to three: ”Capture the goddess to verify her authenticity. If the goddess is merely a disguise of another civilization, use this as leverage to negotiate with that civilization.”

This was a very bold plan.

Nobody knew the truth about the goddess, nor did they know how the suddenly appearing civilization would react after capturing the so-called goddess.

Perhaps, it would incite a war between two civilizations.

But to them at the time, this was the best plan.

Implementing this plan could prove the goddess as merely the guise of an advanced civilization, potentially halting the spread of the Goddess Sect, guiding the wayward back to the right path; meanwhile, breaking the technological blockade of the advanced civilization, pushing their own civilization’s dimensions to a higher level.

If the goddess really is a goddess, she should thoroughly see through them before they implement their plan.

After settling on this plan, how to execute it soon became a new issue.

The protagonist of the book, Fengte, also emerged against the backdrop of such an era.

The day Fengte purchased this diary was his first day as a disciple of the then Mechanical Minister.

As a disciple of the then Mechanical Minister, Fengte was honored to follow behind the minister, listening to every meeting.

When everyone was at a loss on how to execute this plan, a novel idea was laid before them:

”Before the goddess completely left, she seemed to fly through the air and toured the city.

When she reached a certain spot, her gaze lingered a while longer at one place.

That place was a large screen playing a certain magic animation.

Besides, she also lingered a bit longer in the nearby cultural product store.

If we create magic, we might be able to lower her guard, gradually luring her into our trap.”

The person who proposed this plan was none other than the fledgling Fengte.

This plan, once proposed, was met with skepticism: ”Perhaps, that so-called goddess is just interested in our cultural products. Moreover, creating magic, what a fantasy.”

But many also found this plan intriguing: ”Magic, is it? Truly an interesting proposal, retaining quite the childlike wonder.

If we proceed, the feasibility must be considered.

Excluding some absurd magics, like the fire or ice magic in games, it should be some form of energy control mage.

To that degree, it should be possible to create with our current technology.

The technology we possess now, to the ancients, would likely appear as some form of magic.

However, more than this, I’d like to hear why you suddenly had this idea.”

Fengte, without reservation, shared his thoughts: ”The goddess and angel appeared to traverse the atmosphere into the cosmos unprotected.

That looked as if magic was used.”

After hearing Fengte’s perspective, many of the decision-makers at the meeting fell into silence.

If the goddess is indeed a disguise of an advanced civilization, with such technology, they are far from ordinary.

It is worth considering how to handle them if they truly become adversaries.

Ultimately, Fengte’s proposal was retained.

The leaders wanted to see if knowledge could be used to create magic.

Since the outcomes of interstellar travel have been few, they decided to attempt breakthroughs in other areas, perhaps yielding new discoveries.

In human history, many inventions born to address certain situations have shone brightly in other fields.

If a breakthrough in Magic Power is achieved, it may further progress in microscopic particles, finding a new breakthrough in technology.
