Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Lowering his head, staring at his wounded arm, Vorquis showed a bitter smile:

”No need to comfort me this way.

I know exactly how much power I have.

Besides, you remembered wrong. In the past, I didn’t even touch you.

Even now, I still vividly recall what happened that day.

My current power is still far from enough.”

Yang Yu placed his hand on his chin and tilted his head:

”Really? Did I remember wrong?

I only remember that look on your face back then...

Forget it.

Anyway, this matter isn’t your fault.

I genuinely hope this matter won’t affect you too much or make you act hastily.

I have many questions to ask, but most importantly...

What exactly attacked the Village of Heroes, do you know their purpose?”

Vorquis furrowed his brows, seemingly not wanting to recall last night’s events, but he still told Yang Yu what happened:

”...It was demons and evil dragons.

They appeared without warning, completely sealing the Sky Island, committing a brutal massacre.

Only later did I learn, they colluded with an elder from the Village of Heroes, intending to seize the Power of the Brave kept there.

...At that time, I nearly lost control, directly grabbed the Holy Sword, wanting to slice him in two.

Comrades from the Village of Heroes held me back, opened up the sealed sky, and sent me out.

However, the evil dragons and demons wouldn’t let me go, they attacked in the direction I fled, leaving me critically injured.

Perhaps they thought I had died under their attack, perhaps the comrades from the Village of Heroes fought desperately to prevent their pursuit, or maybe they were just preoccupied with something...

No one chased after me, and I floated downstream, barely saving my life.”

”Demons and evil dragons...”

The crowd gasped, they had heard of demons and evil dragons, but never expected these troublesome beings to collude and seek the Power of the Brave.

”Was the Power of the Brave taken? As the Hero, did you obtain it?” Yang Yu asked the pressing question on behalf of the worried crowd.

Vorquis couldn’t hide the disappointment on his face, ”After the initial test, the Hero receives a portion of the Power of the Brave, after completing the trial, they inherit another part.

The elders called me back for this matter.

They aimed at this from the start, which is why they launched such a sudden attack...

I didn’t get the complete Power of the Brave, it’s concerning...

The survivor from the Village of Heroes, I don’t know his extent, but what he said is probably similar to mine.

Everything I said is true.

If there are any differences, I can confront him face to face.”

Yang Yu sighed, ”No need to confront face to face, I’ve asked him, he doesn’t know anything.

I believe what you say, you don’t have a reason to lie.

I will report all this information to His Majesty the King, I have some questions and things I need your help with.

If the Hero can still persist, I hope you can continue answering my questions; if not, please rest well, I won’t disturb too much.”

”Ask whatever you like, I’ll tell you everything I know.” Vorquis replied briskly, his gaze full of determination, ”You are more excellent than I am, I believe you can use this intelligence to bring those responsible to justice.”

Receiving Vorquis’s response, Yang Yu asked his questions one by one, sharing the current state of the world with him.

Question after question, Yang Yu and Vorquis continued their conversation for several minutes.

Only when Vorquis’s companion arrived did the conversation between Yang Yu and Vorquis break.

”Vorquis, are you alright? I’ve heard everything on the way here! I’ve prepared potions to relieve your pain.” A girl with orange-yellow hair, carrying a satchel, rushed into Vorquis’s ward, turning to the blonde nun following her, she said, ”Tara, heal Vorquis immediately.”

Moving through the crowd, Eena Setis noticed Yang Yu but directly ignored him, facing Vorquis, handing him the magic potion.

Tara slowly moved also noticed Yang Yu but couldn’t ignore him.

Although they haven’t met Yang Yu many times, it was Yang Yu who initiated Vorquis’s transformation, leaving a memorable impression on her.

”Tara, hurry and deploy the Holy Light!”

Tara didn’t know what to say to Yang Yu, hearing Eena Setis urge her, she showed a helpless smile to Yang Yu and responded, ”Leave it to me!” She approached the Hero, using the Holy Light for healing.

The last one to arrive was a Subhuman from the Hapi Clan with bird feathers and claws, the guards at the mansion were all serious, and the slightly timid girl tiptoed into the ward.

Seeing Vorquis, Yixuan flapped her wings gently, stirring up a whirlwind, grabbing the edge of the bed like a little bird,

”Vorquis.

Yixuan was being a good child while Vorquis was away.

Why did you get injured like this? Who did this to you!

I will take revenge for you!

It might be challenging alone, but we’ll go together when you’re healed, everyone will come along!

We can definitely defeat them, make them suffer!

I’m quite foolish, don’t know anything. I can’t directly heal wounds like others but I want to help.

This...

Yixuan took out a strange-looking fruit from beneath her feathers.

”I found this with great difficulty, it’s really sweet.

When I was sick as a child, mom would find such fruits for me to eat.

Vorquis, quickly eat this, get well soon.”

Receiving the strange fruit from Hapi’s hand, Vorquis unhesitatingly bit into it, crunching and swallowing.

Vorquis showed a gentle smile to Hapi,

”It indeed is sweet. Thank you.”

Vorquis spoke while placing his hand gently on Hapi’s head, stroking it softly.

Hapi Yixuan showed a happy smile, although Vorquis’s touch felt slightly different from before, it’s certainly because of his injuries.

Once he gets better, everything will return to normal.

Watching the two being so close, Eena Setis’s eyes flashed with a hint of jealousy; although she arrived first, took care of the team during the Hero’s absence, this silly bird finding that strange fruit wasted a lot of time, only causing trouble, but ended up being praised and thanked.

Just as Eena Setis was secretly gnashing her teeth, Vorquis’s gaze shifted over, Eena Setis instantly pretended to be docile again, handing the potion out once more.

This time, Vorquis took the potion without hesitation.
