Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Tian Hanxue was trapped in the sand and couldn’t move, and Yang Yu raised his hand to send out the signal.

Bai Jin walked out from a ruined house with He Meng close behind her. The house they had been hiding in also turned into golden sand and slowly slid down under the effect of the Mini Magic Absorption Cube, collapsing with a crash.

While the Mini Magic Absorption Cube erased Bai Jin’s Characteristic Magic Power, it also sealed off Bai Jin’s perception.

Thanks to He Meng’s Slime traits, Bai Jin was able to instantly lock onto Tian Hanxue’s position and drive the Shark Catching Spear into the ground all around Tian Hanxue with pinpoint accuracy.

Also thanks to He Meng, the Mini Magic Absorption Cube was able to hit Tian Hanxue dead on.

After deciding to use this plan, Yang Yu handed the Task of throwing the Mini Magic Absorption Cube to He Meng, and even had her go ahead and practice throwing with rocks.

Back then, in order not to drag the team down and to make Yang Yu and the others look at her in a new light, He Meng racked her brains and used everything she’d ever learned, transforming into countless kinds of launchers and testing over and over.

But just when He Meng had prepared several sets of plans and was about to have Yang Yu pick one, Yang Yu simply put the [Reverse Wheel] into her hand.

As long as she had the [Reverse Wheel], even He Meng with absolutely no attack power could, by turning her Strength into 9999 within three seconds, deal tons of damage.

Coordinating with Bai Jin to toss out a square or whatever was simply a piece of cake.

Taking the [Reverse Wheel], He Meng lunged straight at Yang Yu, practically wanting to bite him to death on the ground:

”You damn well had such a convenient tool, you should’ve taken it out when you were assigning the Task! I already got all the plans ready, and you only take it out now—are you doing this on purpose to mess with me?”

In truth, Yang Yu felt that He Meng was so smart she must’ve already known he would give her the [Reverse Wheel] to use, which was why he hadn’t given it to her from the start, and instead waited until rehearsal to hand it over.

If He Meng had used the [Reverse Wheel] for every practice, they might have gotten too rowdy to refine the plan.

Fortunately, everything went smoothly.

Even with He Meng’s Strength turned to 9999, she still perfectly controlled the square, not blasting Tian Hanxue away too far with a single hit and knocking her out of the range of Bai Jin’s spear Control.

Only then did Yang Yu’s plan succeed.

The surviving Magicians looked at each other and then, as if by prior agreement, turned their eyes to Iyas not far away.

For the sake of secrecy, Yang Yu and the others had never told these Magicians any part of the plan from beginning to end. They had truly been fighting with the resolve to die, just to teleport Yang Yu and the others away.

”It’s fine, we’re safe now. I’ll explain what’s going on in a bit. You all rest for now. We might still need you later.”

Speaking softly to calm the surrounding Magicians, Iyas walked slowly toward the area that had turned into yellow sand.

Before Iyas could get all the way there, Yang Yu gave Iyas a new Task:

”Iyas, go with Qiuye and Lotcar to support the main force. They’re locked in a bitter fight over there.

They need someone who can turn the tide of battle.

I believe in your current strength.”

He blew a sharp whistle, and the ground in the southeast of the plaza trembled. A huge Silver Wolf broke through the stone slabs of the ground, drilling out from the sea of yellow sand, with a petite girl following close behind.

This was another ambush Yang Yu had set up.

Before turning the underground soil into yellow sand, Yang Yu had converted part of the sewers into a hiding place for Lotcar and Qiuye. With a single order from Yang Yu, Lotcar could emerge from underground and launch a surprise Attack.

The yellow sand created by the Mini Magic Absorption Cube also had a certain Magic Power-blocking effect. Aside from certain races, most people would find it hard to detect what lay under the sand.

Even the desert overlord Fierce Land Shark had to expose its fins above the sand in order to accurately determine the prey’s position.

Shaking the sand off his body, Lotcar led Qiuye to Iyas’s side, then took Iyas with him and strode off without looking back, heading to support the main force outside the city.

Tian Hanxue had never imagined that all of Yang Yu’s companions were present on the field, and that he had used such a stratagem to hide them as his trump card.

Bai Jin leaned against the purple transparent wall, while Yang Yu walked step by step toward Tian Hanxue and sat down on the ground in front of her:

”Miss Snow Woman.

Tian Hanxue, one of the Four Heavenly Kings.

You should admit your defeat now.”

Her body was completely buried. No matter how Tian Hanxue raised her head, there was no way to take in the whole of Yang Yu with her eyes.

”I fell for your trick completely.

As expected of the one I set my sights on—not only do you have exceptional strength, you can also come up with a method like this.

How are you planning to deal with me?”

Just as Tian Hanxue threw out the question, Yang Yu tossed it right back:

”How do you want me to deal with you?”

”What I say doesn’t count for anything. If you want to just kill me like this, I can’t resist right now.

Saying some weak words to win your sympathy so you’ll drop your guard and give me a chance… that’s pretty unrealistic too.

I don’t think someone as cautious as you will make any mistake when it comes to how to handle me.

If you expect me to hurry up and spill some intel in exchange for my own safety, I advise you to give up that idea.”

Even though she was imprisoned and couldn’t move, with her life and death perhaps hanging on a single thought from Yang Yu, Tian Hanxue still showed no sign of loosening her tongue.

Yang Yu slowly let his smile fade, reached out toward Tian Hanxue’s head, and flicked her forehead hard.

”That hurts!”

A burning pain spread across her forehead. Tian Hanxue instinctively tried to raise her arm to cover the sore spot, but her hands and feet were completely bound by the sand, so she could only let that burning sensation fan out over her forehead.

”That hurts!”

After the first forehead flick, Yang Yu showed no mercy and flicked Tian Hanxue’s forehead three more times in a row.

From childhood till now, Tian Hanxue had never suffered such humiliation. She demanded loudly:

”If you want to kill or cut me up, do as you please.

Why bother insulting me like this? Do you have no dignity as a warrior?”

Yang Yu let out a long sigh. ”You of the Demon Clan are the same as us—you’re living beings.

Relax, I’m not going to torture you. I’m just confirming a few things.

Your answers from here on out will decide how I deal with you.

Even knowing that you like me, I won’t show you any mercy.

I hope Miss Tian Hanxue will think this over carefully.

After all, you of the Demon Clan, just like we Humans, should also be a kind of Subhuman. A very, very long time ago, we might have shared the same ancestors.

It’s just that because of certain things, our ancestors betrayed yours, and that’s why you keep invading this world over and over again.

You want us to pay for the sins our ancestors committed—at the very least, you should tell us what exactly our ancestors did.”

Hearing this, Tian Hanxue’s eyes opened slightly wider, a faint look of surprise appearing on her face:

”So you’ve already learned that much?

Because you know this much, you haven’t, like the others, borne total hostility toward us from the very start.

Instead, you’ve gone to all this trouble to try and coax some intel out of me.”
