Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

On the desolate Gobi Desert, Bai Jin raised his magic wand, feeling the flow of magic power around him.

The scorching sun at noon cast its fiery rays from the sky, baking the earth, distorting the air, and causing ripples in the distant scenery.

In less than a day, Yang Yu and his companions experienced two completely opposite climate environments.

This is the Kafezaro Desert, located at the border between the Sethis Kingdom and the Wansheng Republic.

Two or three years ago, Yang Yu and his team once crossed the vast desert to reach Wansheng Country and participated in the war between the two nations.

Now, they are once again present here.

It took quite an effort to arrive here from the icy and bitter cold North of the Luo Ze Empire.

Upon hearing Yang Yu’s decision to temporarily leave the Luo Ze Empire, no one questioned the reason much. They simply followed Yang Yu’s instructions, traversing one teleportation array after another, swiftly arriving at the edge of the Kafezaro Desert.

Yang Yu, familiar with the route, let Iyas go to the nearby village to find a desert guide.

Soon, Iyas returned with a young man with neat short hair to Yang Yu’s side.

The young man had wide, honest eyebrows spread across his otherwise ordinary face, wearing a loose beige robe commonly worn by desert dwellers, clean and tidy.

Upon seeing Yang Yu, the young man quickly greeted:

”Long time no see.

I don’t know if you still remember me?

My name is Qing Shi, I once served as your desert guide.”

”We haven’t been to the desert many times, meeting again is fate.” Yang Yu first showed a smile, then reconfirmed whether Qing Shi truly knew their requirements, ”The place we’re going is very dangerous, are you prepared for that?”

With slightly raised rugged eyebrows, Qing Shi, much more mature now, showed a bitter smile: ”I never thought someone would want to seek the Lamia Clan.

Despite the generous reward you offer, it’s undoubtedly a life-threatening job.

A life earned but not lived.

Speaking it out loud in public, no one would take your task.”

”But didn’t you take it?”

”Because I’ve adventured with you before.

Not to mention anything else, just following this elf with you is enough to leave a deep impression on me.

If I hadn’t witnessed your strength, I wouldn’t have easily accepted this task.

By the way, what are you looking for with the Lamia Clan?”

Yang Yu extended his hand to Qing Shi, ”Since you’re willing to take on this task, let’s talk as we walk.”

Qing Shi took Yang Yu’s hand and climbed onto Lotcar’s back.

Yang Yu patted Lotcar’s back, signaling Lotcar to follow Qing Shi’s instructions and step into the desert, heading towards the Lamia Clan’s dwelling place.

The Kafezaro Desert is not a naturally formed desert.

If it were naturally formed, it would be affected by the Magic Tide.

But...

After stepping into the desert, Bai Jin repeatedly confirmed the changes in magic within the Kafezaro Desert.

Magic flowing from the Demon World hasn’t entered the desert; the magic within the desert is so thin that it’s shocking.

Wanting to cross this entire desert using flying magic or any flying magic tool is nearly impossible.

The entire desert seems utterly cursed by something.

Why hasn’t the magic here changed?

This is because something is maintaining the magic within the desert. The Lamia Clan guarded item is maintaining the desert’s magic.

Yang Yu came for this reason.

Last time traversing this desert, Yang Yu personally witnessed the Lamia Clan hunting Fierce Land Sharks.

No magic above the desert; most of the magic has settled into the sand, and the Fierce Land Shark is one of the few demons capable of utilizing the magic within the sand.

The sand continuously flows through the gills of the Fierce Land Shark, enabling it to extract magic from the sand, thus gaining the immense power to move through the sand.

The Lamia Clan employs a magical device while hunting Fierce Land Sharks.

They bury this magical device in the sand near the Fierce Land Shark, causing the surrounding sand to temporarily lose magic, leaving it ”stranded” in the desert, like fish meat on a cutting board.

The device used by the Lamia Clan is the key to controlling magic. Figuring out how that device operates can create an ambush against Tian Hanxue, providing a chance to defeat Tian Hanxue completely.

But understanding how the device operates is no easy task.

Last time, Yang Yu had dinner with the Lamia, who were also very hospitable, but that doesn’t mean it’s the same every time.

Otherwise, with the reward Yang Yu offers, desert guides would be fighting tooth and nail, and Qing Shi wouldn’t be the only one willing to help Yang Yu find the Lamia Clan.

Apart from specific times, the Lamia Clan will trade with outsiders, but they mostly live in their own territory, undisturbed by the world. Ming Dalak tried many times to win over the Lamia Clan but always failed.

Entering their territory uninvited will result in fierce retaliation.

At this time, the point of trading with the Lamia Clan has passed; the danger level is self-evident.

Under the scorching sun, Yang Yu and his companions pitched tents in the desert, using ice to cool down, resting well until the sun began to set, then started again as the heat had yet to dissipate from the sand.

Compared to two or three years ago, Lotcar’s speed is much faster than before, but it will still take considerable time to reach the Lamia Clan’s territory according to the route provided by Qing Shi.

Not to mention encountering magic beasts along the way, moving in the desert during the scorching afternoon and freezing nights is suicidal; both times require rest, unable to proceed.

Forcing through the desert is extremely difficult, so Yang Yu came up with a plan.

As the sunset fades, orange-red colors spread across the dunes, several small sand sailing ships patrolled at the edge of the Lamia territory, protecting the territory’s safety.

Don’t underestimate these small sand sailing ships; although small, they are complete with essentials; equipped with the latest sand sailing engines and the newest weapons.

Through night vision goggles, the Lamia responsible for reconnaissance focused intensely, scanning the vast sand sea for suspicious individuals.

Although few people would privately approach the Lamia’s territory, any Lamia on duty is exceptionally serious as the safety of their territory is of utmost importance and cannot afford carelessness.

Most Lamia onboard the ships think today will be as calm and untroubled as before, no one causing disturbances.

But suddenly, a Lamia noticed a flickering light on the distant dark horizon, as if a shining star appeared on the horizon.

Detecting the anomaly, the Lamia immediately alerted the Lamia on the mast to conduct reconnaissance.

Peering through the telescope, the Lamia on the mast looked into the distance, a bright light flashing through the lens, as a gigantic Silver Wolf with a huge lighting facility slowly approached them!
