Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Traveling north, Yang Yu supported several strategic points along the way, and with his companions, they swiftly routed the Demon Clan cadres, clearing the Demon Clan troops and turning the tide of battle.

The experiences of the wars between the two countries and the experience gained in the [Hall of History] were a great help to Yang Yu.

Upon refreshing the task panel, another urgent task turned gray, sinking to the bottom of the task list.

The rate of urgent task failures was noticeably slowing down.

As Yang Yu had expected, in order to conquer this world sooner, the Demon King’s army was fighting a long-term war, advancing swiftly, and they didn’t rest well in the first few days.

When Yang Yu and his team rested, the Demon King’s army also conducted proper recuperation.

Maintaining the army’s status is a compulsory course for commanding an army; the Demon King would not make mistakes in this aspect.

The pace of the Demon King’s army’s attack had temporarily slowed, giving various countries a brief respite.

They seized the time to convene meetings, discuss countermeasures, and forming a United Resistance Army that transcended national borders was brought to the discussion table and put on the agenda.

After offering some simple suggestions, Yang Yu focused his attention forward.

The overcast sky began to snow, laying a thin veil on Yang Yu and his companions’ shoulders.

A short while ago, an S-Class adventure group encountered the Demon Clan’s troops, and after two to three hours of hard fighting, they were completely annihilated.

The person leading that Demon Clan’s troop was none other than Tian Hanxue, one of the Four Heavenly Kings.

Yang Yu was heading to the battlefield where that S-Class adventure group had once fought.

In this environment, fighting against Tian Hanxue would undoubtedly be a significant disadvantage.

The details of the battle with Tian Hanxue flashed in Yang Yu’s mind; if there was no way to counter that skill, Tian Hanxue would surely use it to escape unscathed.

The cold wind blew, and Lotcar caught the scent of the Demon Clan’s army and a strong stench of blood in the wind and snow.

Bai Jin cast Surveillance Magic towards the sky, seeing a fortress that had completely fallen.

Demon Soldiers were escorting one surrendered soldier after another across the snow-covered battlefield and sending them into the city.

Several Demon Clan cadres beheaded the resisting generals personally at the city gate to display, using this act to intimidate the captives.

With General Luo Ze’s death, another task on Yang Yu’s panel turned gray and sank to the bottom.

In the end, Yang Yu and his group arrived a step too late.

”There’s no helping it.

Lotcar heads to the next location.

Bai Jin stays alert to avoid any ambushes around us.”

To deal with Tian Hanxue and see what other abilities she possesses, they needed to peel Tian Hanxue away from the Demon Clan’s army like unraveling silk.

Yang Yu and his team’s strength was great, but their limits were clear. They couldn’t defeat the Demon King’s army solely with their own power, nor could they eliminate the interference of the Demon King’s army.

In strategizing against Tian Hanxue, if she had troops with her, Yang Yu needed a large force to constrain Tian Hanxue’s troops.

Reaching the area where Tian Hanxue was active, Yang Yu wanted to liberate part of Luo Ze’s troops to assist in their battle.

Yang Yu and his team ran like this to isolate Tian Hanxue and some elites from the larger troop, creating a battle of elite against elite, group against group.

When a small group possesses the ability to easily kill a larger group, the duel between elites seems like a good choice.

However, this is not the only choice.

Using elites to shuttle across the battlefield, crushing enemies on various battlefields, applying pressure, is also a tactical choice.

The disadvantage of this tactic is obvious; if the other side also adopts this tactic, it becomes a strategy of mutual devastation. Both sides cease pursuing a confrontation of top-level combat power and instead compete to see who can inflict more damage on the enemy.

Such a strategy would result in heavy losses for both sides.

Ultimately, it may return to a straightforward confrontation on the battlefield.

The Demon Clan army would accept surrenders; previous Demon Kings did not slaughter all local populations upon conquest.

The Demon King did not aim for total extermination.

With so many humans in this world, killing them all is unrealistic.

Yang Yu had a premonition that the Demon King’s goals were not just world conquest; there must be other purposes.

For that purpose, the Demon King needs the manpower of this world.

In this highly magical world, the army is ultimately just an auxiliary tool.

The number of top-level fighters is limited and cannot constantly attack or defend or remain at a single location. Therefore, the army is needed as support.

When one side’s top fighters greatly overwhelm the other or the army becomes irresistible, requiring more powerful fighters for blocking, the scales of victory will tilt.

The world is vast, and the Demon Clan has launched attacks on various regions worldwide.

This mode of warfare limits the local top fighters to their area, preventing them from uniting to cause an upheaval.

Yang Yu and many adventurers roamed outside of countries; if they wanted to do something, they would undoubtedly stir up the war like a stick in the mud.

The Demon King could not have overlooked the existence of individuals like them, and similarly, Yang Yu had to consider the existence of counterparts like himself on the Demon Clan side.

Based on current intelligence, the Four Heavenly Kings are probably such counterparts. The Four Heavenly Kings and cadres operate outside the army, disrupting the war.

Unlike Yang Yu and his team, the Four Heavenly Kings have supreme authority over the army. They can lead troops into battle as needed or temporarily detach from the army to act independently.

This is merely Yang Yu’s hypothesis; he cannot be certain that his thinking is entirely correct.

Therefore, Yang Yu also considers the possibility that his hypothesis is completely wrong and that Tian Hanxue continues leading troops into battle. In that scenario, peeling Tian Hanxue from the troop would be considerably difficult, and they would have to attempt to create a battlefield for the elite.

Various thoughts churned in Yang Yu’s mind, and suddenly, the surrounding wind and snow intensified. The fierce cold wind howled, churning up snow and ice that struck Yang Yu and his companions’ faces.

Noticing that the weather hadn’t changed naturally, Bai Jin quickly spoke up to alert:

”The snow contains tiny traces of Magic Power! This is no ordinary snow!”

Just as Bai Jin finished speaking, countless ice cones, five or six meters tall, rose from the ground around Yang Yu and his team, forming a gigantic ring, encircling them tightly.

A massive ice pillar shot out straight, sealing the final exit of the ring, blocking Yang Yu and his team’s path.

A gentle breeze blew past the ice cone before Yang Yu, and a graceful figure appeared on the tip of the cone.

Tian Hanxue, dressed in a kimono and holding a folded fan, gave Yang Yu a slight smile:

”It’s been a long time.

I am glad you came all this way to see me...

You’ve thought it through, haven’t you?

After witnessing so many battles, you should understand that your humans have no chance of winning.

Continuing to resist stubbornly will only lead to death.

You’ve seen it too, haven’t you? So long as you absolutely submit, we of the Demon Clan will be generous enough to spare your life.

So, what do you think of my suggestion?

Someone of your standing shouldn’t follow them to their death.

You and your companions could undoubtedly witness the arrival of a new world.

Accept my proposal and serve our Demon Clan!”
