Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Just as Yang Yu and his companions were trying their utmost to escape Tian Hanxue, a support troop from the Luo Ze Empire happened to pass by a nearby hill.

”What on earth is that?”

The leading officer raised the binoculars, chewing gum, and gazed towards the hill where the battle was occurring.

Ice mist rose in waves, a terrifying magic fluctuation was detectable even from dozens of kilometers away.

”This might be a battle involving the Four Heavenly Kings. Just our luck, she happens to be in this place?”

The deputy next to the officer said, ”A battle of the Four Heavenly Kings? Could this be bad news?

She’s so close, could she affect our support plan?

If we proceed, we might fall into their attack and face total annihilation.”

The officer put down the binoculars, face stern: ”It might indeed impact our support plan, but we must continue to support.

We are soldiers of the Empire. This is our task.

Even if the final result is death, we must continue to provide support.

Believe in ourselves, that we have the strength to change the course of the battle, even if it’s just a slight change...

Every small change made by people could lead to a bigger change...

These tiny changes will accumulate into a greater transformation.”

The officer faced the soldiers behind him,

”Soldiers.

You’ve all heard of the atrocities committed by the Demon Clan, haven’t you?

We absolutely do not want to see our homeland soaked with blood, which is why we are here.

Not knowing what dangers await us ahead, please do not forget why we fight.

For our country, for the Emperor, for our families, offer your lives!

Everyone, advance!”

The support troops arriving at the border roared in unison, leaving trails of footprints that would not return in the snow.

Similar scenes are repeatedly unfolding in various regions of this world, countless people facing death unflinchingly, just to protect their land and family beneath them.

However, not all possess iron-willed resolve.

In a certain city, a City Lord opened the city gates and kneeled, surrendering to a man who was engulfed in blazing flames,

”The Demon King is wise and mighty, unparalleled. This Lord is likewise wise and mighty, unmatched.

How could humans be a match for you, it’s like a mantis trying to stop a carriage.

If we continue fighting, we’ll only end up dead at your blades.

As the saying goes, he who recognizes the times is a wise man.

We are willing to relinquish the city, only asking for a way to survive.”

The fiery Red Flame Monarch walked with steady steps toward the kneeling City Lord,

Large beads of sweat slowly dripped from the City Lord’s forehead, not daring to make a sound, fearing he might anger the powerful Demon Clan member before him.

The Red Flame Monarch stopped before the City Lord, speaking in a low voice:

”Are you sure you truly want to betray your country and join us under the Demon Clan?”

Faced with the Red Flame Monarch’s questioning, the City Lord quickly replied:

”Of course I’m willing to join the Demon Clan, serving the Demon King army. I’m fortunate to do so in my lifetime.”

”Very good.” The Red Flame Monarch then posed the next question, ”What do you plan to do with the city’s residents?”

”Huh?” The Red Flame Monarch’s words puzzled the City Lord. Having surrendered to the Demon Clan, naturally, the whole city should be under their rule, right?

”If you didn’t hear clearly, I’ll ask you again, what do you plan to do with the city’s residents?”

”Uh...” the City Lord stammered.

”If I decide to kill them, what do you plan to do?” The Red Flame Monarch coldly asked.

The City Lord clenched his teeth, pondering how to answer this question in a way that would please the Red Flame Monarch, but before he could come to a conclusion...

”I’ll ask it more clearly, are you willing to exchange your life for theirs?”

”What?” the City Lord was extremely surprised, ”This city has already come under your control. You want...”

The Red Flame Monarch raised the long knife in hand, its crimson edge creeping upwards and bursting into flames,

”No need to answer anymore, I already know your answer.

I’ll take care of the city’s residents for you, just rest easy and go!”

The City Lord understood the Red Flame Monarch’s intentions immediately and frantically crawled and stumbled in an attempt to flee backwards.

Without hesitation, the Red Flame Monarch swung the blade, severing the City Lord’s head. The scorching flames instantly turned the remaining body into ashes.

Picking up the City Lord’s head, the Red Flame Monarch shouted towards the city:

”Citizens of the city, listen to me, your City Lord exchanged his head for your lives.

I will spare your lives, but if there are any who resist, I will not hesitate to kill you.

Act within your means, and from now on work well for us the Demon Clan.

Consider this atonement on behalf of your ancestors!”

As the Red Flame Monarch’s words faded, an iron steel bird flew over his head, a deeper voice than his echoed in his mind:

”You... just now, I’ve seen everything you did.

Your temper is just like always.

That person was still useful, no need to kill.”

What resonated by the Red Flame Monarch’s ear was the voice of the Iron Steel Dragon.

”I detest opportunists. If we keep him alive, he’ll surely betray us in the future, just like long, long ago!”

”If you didn’t deal with him, at least fully extract his value.

When such people come to surrender, there will definitely be others who do the same, by killing them like this...

If this news spreads, those who originally wanted to surrender may definitely rise in resistance to save their lives.”

”Understood, I’ll be more mindful next time. Anything else?” the Red Flame Monarch replied perfunctorily.

”You...” Iron Steel Dragon sighed deeply in helpless resignation, ”I was merely testing the newly established communication.

Then I coincidentally witnessed your situation, so I said a few words to you.

We’re advancing quickly. This world is vast, trying to command the army perfectly is a bit challenging, which is why, under the Lord Demon King’s orders, I’m organizing the construction of communication towers while fighting.

The logistics troops are estimated to soon arrive in this world, so the cities conquered will need to be handed over to them.

They have not received adequate military training, so we must use formal troops to restrain them to a certain extent.

Establishing communication is crucial.

The past Demon Kings fell short in this aspect, hence why I’m personally overseeing the testing.

Orders from the Lord Demon King came, stating we could temporarily slow down the speed of advance.

Once the battlefront stretches too far, we’ll encounter issues here as well, so wait until most communications are set before continuing the attack.”

”Got it.”

The Red Flame Monarch smiled.

During this time, humans will surely send large numbers of advanced combatants to the front line, and by then, how many strong individuals will we be able to battle simultaneously?

Hehe, hahahaha, truly exciting.
