Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The sunrise rose as usual, its gentle rays spread across the land, bringing waves of warmth.

Yet, where the sun touched, it was not always a herald of light.

The enormous Sky Island was in shambles, dead silent, the Village of Heroes burned out, leaving only ruins.

Yang Yu followed the troops and searched the Sky Island three times.

The Village of Heroes was completely annihilated, with no survivors.

The culprit behind all of this had long since fled without a trace, leaving very few marks, countless clues turned to ashes in the fire.

The liaison officer sent to Sethis, knelt on both knees, tears streaming uncontrollably.

He never expected that the day he smiled and bade farewell to his family would be the last time he saw them.

While others comforted him, Yang Yu communicated what Bai Jin had seen and heard on the Sky Island to Aite Sethis.

”...

Your Majesty the King, this is the result of our investigation.”

Aite Sethis furrowed his brow, his face marked by unspeakable bitterness:

”Have others investigate again.

If nothing is found, have them return immediately to their posts.

I didn’t expect such a thing to happen.

Really acted against the Village of Heroes...

Is this the work of the Demon Clan, or is there something else at play?

I want to hear your opinion, after all, you were the one who urgently pressed me to dispatch forces to save the Village of Heroes.”

After pondering for a moment, Yang Yu replied: ”Without decisive evidence, I can’t make a rash judgment.

The reason I hurried here and begged His Majesty to issue directives to save the Village of Heroes was entirely because I heard the voice from the ruins I possess.

Perhaps the Sky Island where the Village of Heroes was located also has some unknown relic, just connected to the one I possess, allowing me to sense the Village of Heroes’ crisis.

Unfortunately, all valuable items on the island have been taken away, I cannot confirm whether it truly was the relic giving me the hint.

It’s not just the Demon Clan that might attack here, it could also be Demons, or the elusive Evil Dragon.

Some traces seem like claw attacks left by some giant creature...

In short, this incident is no small matter, the truth must be uncovered, otherwise greater crises await us.”

Aite Sethis nodded repeatedly and said:

”You’re right.

There indeed needs to be someone to find out the truth.

Such an important task should be given to you!

After all, you were the first to know about this and also caused us to go to such great lengths.

Can you complete this task?”

On the surface, it appeared to be a task assignment, but in reality, Aite Sethis also wanted to use this matter to keep Yang Yu in Sethis Kingdom.

The Village of Heroes was originally one of Sethis Kingdom’s supports.

Though the Village of Heroes had been reclusive for a long time, Aite Sethis believed that when life and death were at stake, they couldn’t disregard the Demon King’s invasion and would surely dispatch forces to resist the Demon King Army.

Now, the Village of Heroes was destroyed for unknown reasons, the culprit’s whereabouts are unknown, and Sethis needs more strength to survive in the turbulent times.

Yang Yu read Aite Sethis’s thoughts through his micro-expressions, while remarking on how the King of Sethis hadn’t changed even in these times, he tactfully refused:

”Even if I wanted to, right now I probably don’t have that kind of leisure.

I know the ones who destroyed the Village of Heroes aren’t ordinary, but my primary task now is still to help this world repel the Demon King.

The current situation is critical, different powers should be used in the right places.

Everyone has things they are good and not good at; forcing someone not good at something to specialize in it will only waste resources.

Personally, I’m better at strategic and tactical arrangements.

So, my appropriate place should be on the front lines.

I’m happy to accept His Majesty’s proposal, but I think this country should also find many who are good at investigations.

Most of them lack combat ability but possess wise minds.

They are more suited to the current situation than I am.”

Aite Sethis lowered his head and thought for a long time, nodding towards Yang Yu:

”You’re right.

That’s indeed how it should be done. Then I won’t force you.

Forcing you might only cause loathing from other countries.

But, you were the first to know about this attack, if there are any situations, we need to confirm with you, I hope you can respond promptly.”

”That’s certainly no problem.” Yang Yu smiled, then suddenly put on a serious face, ”With such a major incident happening, our side’s power has further weakened.

The situation is extremely perilous.

I can think of some good strategies, but some plans require strong individual combat power to execute.

The Hero is an excellent choice.

Unfortunately, we still lack the whereabouts of the Hero.

If His Majesty has any news of the Hero, please contact us immediately.

As long as the Hero performs outstandingly, no matter what the truth here is, we can quickly deal with the Demon King Army here and then handle the problems.

If the Hero is not found soon, we will also gradually become powerless, only able to endure bitterly...

By then, Sethis surrounded by powerful enemies, just one Hero alone won’t be enough.”

Furrowing his brow, Aite Sethis spoke in a grave voice:

”Once the Hero is found, I’ll inform you immediately.

That’s all.

You’ve been working overnight, find a place to rest well.

If anything arises, I’ll send someone to contact you.”

Aite Sethis was about to have the liaison officer cut off communication when suddenly a Messenger Soldier rushed into the hall, came to Aite Sethis’s side, and whispered in his ear.

Aite Sethis initially reacted in shock, then pondered for a while, eventually deciding to relay the received information to Yang Yu and the others:

”Regarding the Hero you just mentioned...

We have news over here.

He might be the sole survivor of this incident.

Previously, he seemed to have said he was going to the Village of Heroes on a mission or something.

He followed the river next to you, always going downstream, severely wounded...

Rescued by someone, after declaring his Hero identity, he fell unconscious.

I’ll tell you his current location.

Go there to see the Hero, you might get some useful information.”

Everyone present was first surprised, then their gazes gradually became resolute.

Aite Sethis initially didn’t want to reveal the Hero’s location, but considering the attack on the Village of Heroes might target the Hero, and the instigators might still be searching for the Hero, he eventually decided to inform Yang Yu and the others.

If anything went wrong, Yang Yu and the others could also protect the Hero.

After explaining some trivial matters, Aite Sethis and Yang Yu and the others cut off communication, secretly took out a Crystal Ball, quietly contacted Princess Eena, and informed her of the Hero’s incident, hoping she would quickly lead the Hero’s companions to tend to the comatose Hero.
