Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

After boarding Mellen Ramiya’s sand sailing ship, Yang Yu and his group left the vast desert in just a day and a half.

On the Gobi, they bid farewell to the Desert Guide, Qing Shi, and Yang Yu immediately found a secluded spot to familiarize himself with various tools, test their effects, and based on their properties, developed various practical plans.

During the time Yang Yu went to visit the Lamia Clan, the attack speed of the Demon King Army significantly slowed down.

Everyone knew this was not due to any goodwill from the Demon Clan, but simply because this world was too vast.

Even with the extremely convenient magic that allowed for quick marches, the Demon King Army could not conquer the entire world within a few weeks.

Conquering the world too quickly would bring about a series of problems, and the Demon King likely had no way to completely overcome these issues, so they deliberately slowed their pace.

In this brief respite, representatives of the world’s nations gathered to discuss ways to deal with the Demon King.

The formation of a United Resistance Army was repeatedly mentioned.

Some people believed that the situation was not yet at its most critical, and hastily forming a united army might cause a series of problems due to interests; others believed that this invasion was unprecedented, and they did not have much time left, forming a united army only at the most critical moment would lead to despair and regret, so they strongly supported its formation.

The Wansheng Republic was the first to express its position, with Governor Ming Dalak willing to send a group of keen-sensed beastmen to various countries to further prevent demon clan infiltration; Luoze Empire was the second to express its stance. Yang Yu and his group’s activities had improved the situation at the front line somewhat, and although not by much, Luoze Empire was willing to allocate some forces to more needed places.

Initially opposed nations formed an incredibly united front in the face of the Demon King’s threat.

Led by the two major countries, the Teren Republic also agreed to swiftly form the United Resistance Army.

Though the Teren Republic received support from the All Things Library, as the weakest country among them, its situation remained the most severe, with a large number of displaced people and refugees flooding into the All Things Library or across the border seeking refuge in the Dragon God Evaluation Country.

Now is when Teren Republic needs external support the most, they naturally want to leverage this wind.

As for whether they can repay this favor depends on their performance after this war...

If the Teren Republic falls under the Demon King’s invasion, they could only resign themselves to fate.

It was Serti’s Kingdom and Dragon God Evaluation Country that hesitated.

Over at the Dragon God Evaluation Country, although nominally directly under the giant dragons, they, like other countries, only formed a part under the dragons’ supervision.

Every time the Demon King invades this world, they always target the countries nominally led by the giant dragons last, which indirectly leads those countries to be the slowest to respond.

In past eras, the united resistance armies often excluded these dragon-led countries.

When asked whether other countries are interested in borrowing the strength of the Dragon God Evaluation Country, the answer is certainly yes.

On that land lives many high-quality combat races.

If they could receive their assistance, especially the help of former winners of the Dragon God Conference, they can defend against high-level forces more effectively.

Rather than having each country’s high-level forces rush around, having to guard against the Demon King who could appear at any time.

If persuading the dragon-led Dragon God Evaluation Country, which has not been heavily invaded, is a historical ailment, Serti Kingdom, also facing Demon King Army’s invasion, takes another attitude.

It’s widely known that due to a past incident, Serti was stripped of the right to command large armies, and the enthusiasm for warfare among the populace is low.

Fortunately, the attack from the Demon King Army isn’t aggressive, currently only staying at the coastal harassment stage without massive incursions.

Why is it that only Serti can escape calamity?

Perhaps because Serti has the Village of Heroes; or maybe the Demon Clan has other plans; it could be that the Demon Clan is too stretched thin, and missing a Four Heavenly King to lead an army, can only focus their attacks on three countries.

On the matter of the United Resistance Army, Serti’s internal attitude is not unified. While not each harboring ulterior motives, they are at least split into several factions.

After much deliberation, King of Aite adopted a rather balanced approach to resolve the problem, stating that Serti could provide a large amount of supplies to various nations in support of the United Resistance Army, but sending troops was not an option.

Even if their soldiers still retain high-level combat capabilities, without significantly involving themselves on the front lines, Serti is unwilling to deploy them.

In case the Demon King’s target is Serti...

Facing King of Aite’s ”stubbornness”, other countries could only make slight concessions and choose to compromise.

A formal meeting is much more complex than a simple statement, filled with game-play and scheming at every turn, where elites at the national leadership level showcase their brilliance, arguing incessantly.

Pressed by the threat of the Demon King’s advances, countries compromised with each other to barely establish the United Resistance Army.

While organizing the army, many people familiar with Yang Yu wanted to seek his opinion to see if he had any good ideas, but could not reach him no matter what.

If not for the Goddess Sect providing information on Yang Yu’s whereabouts, knowing he and his group went to the desert, many would likely have believed Yang Yu had fallen in battle.

With Yang Yu’s sudden disappearance, countries that previously had close contact with him also realized anew that indeed, excessive reliance on certain individuals, as Yang Yu suggested, was not viable.

To safeguard their world, what’s needed is collective effort.

Even so, upon receiving contact from Yang Yu, many national leaders were still greatly pleased, hoping Yang Yu could do something for them.

Yang Yu concisely expressed he would do his best, but as there was only one team, they were stretched thin, and Yang Yu hoped for understanding if he couldn’t attend to them.

Different people had varying thoughts about Yang Yu, but the majority expressed understanding.

After updating the urgent tasks on the task board, Yang Yu privately contacted the new Emperor of Luoze Empire, Klaroci, to lay the groundwork for upcoming plans.

On some issues, Yang Yu also sought Klaroci’s opinion.

Klaroci only told Yang Yu to proceed fearlessly:

”Do as you think best.

No matter the outcome, I am grateful for your efforts for us.

You often think of things we can’t, and I can only offer some advice.

If you need it, I will bestow upon you special military command. As long as you give the order, thousands of soldiers will lay down their lives for you.”

Yang Yu shrugged with a wry smile, ”That’s the worst-case scenario. I still stick to my idea. By the way, is there still no news of the Hero guy? I’m doing what he ought to be doing. If he can join the battlefield and shine, I’d have it much easier.”

Klaroci shook his head with a wry smile, indicating that the King of Serti Kingdom seems to know something, but just won’t say.
