Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Although knowing this was an extremely arduous task, none of the magicians at the scene backed down.

They understood the consequences if such a massive sky island were to fall directly to the ground.

It was imperative to prevent the sky island from crashing at all costs!

The situation in the Village of Heroes on the sky island could only be confirmed after the island was safely settled.

Before Bai Jin arrived, the other magicians had already calculated the falling direction of the sky island, and the grand, illusory wall woven by dazzling magic collided seamlessly with the falling sky island.

The magic technique that first made contact with the sky island snapped under unprecedented impact, transforming into glittering fragments scattered into the air.

The unprecedented pressure fell upon each magician’s shoulders, as though any slight relaxation would mercilessly crush them beneath the colossal sky island.

The magic formation at the point of contact was thoroughly pulverized, and the magicians racked their brains to continuously add new magic formations behind the illusory wall, exhausting everything they had learned over a lifetime to maintain the illusory wall and slow the descent of the sky island.

The sky island was indeed immense, and the inertia from its fall was unimaginable, but it was ultimately no match for the combined magic power of countless advanced mages.

The sky island came to a halt.

With a slight tilt, it stopped through the concerted efforts of all the magicians.

Joining the team, Bai Jin hadn’t even expended much magic power.

Looking around, Bai Jin could sense the impressive magic aura emanating from every magician around. Every person present was a top magician in the Setis Kingdom.

King of Setis had deployed all his resources in one breath.

Safely catching the entire sky island without any surprises, the magicians hovering in the sky swiftly communicated, discussing the settlement plan for the sky island.

While there is magic to make objects float, it requires continuous consumption of the caster’s magic power. Given the enormity of the sky island, even if the magicians present exhausted all of their magical powers, they couldn’t sustain it for more than a few days. Ultimately, the sky island would still fall to the ground. Moreover, inscribing the floating spell on such a vast island wasn’t an easy task either.

Gordon quickly thought of a method—the bottom of the sky island was pointed, and conveniently, there was a forest nearby. If a large hole was dug in that forest and the bottom of the sky island was aligned with the mouth of the hole and placed there, there would be no problem.

If the people on the sky island were unharmed, they wouldn’t have to bear unnecessary consequences for privately damaging the sky island.

Gordon’s idea quickly gained unanimous agreement from the other magicians. They didn’t know the temperament of the leaders of the Village of Heroes or if there were any enemies above.

This method was indeed the most reliable.

Although some problems were unsolved, the primary urgency now was to verify the situation in the Village of Heroes, with no time to worry about much else.

Without hesitation, all the magicians together slowly propelled the immense sky island forward.

Tasked with the heavy responsibility of breaking open the hole, Bai Jin dared not slack off, flying swiftly to the nearby forest, chanting spells to construct a super large magic formation.

Effortlessly, Bai Jin created a large hole in the forest according to all the magicians’ suggestions, sufficient for the placement of the sky island.

With relief in his heart as the sky island was caught, Yang Yu exhaled deeply. If the sky island had crashed directly, everything on it might’ve been destroyed, leaving no traces to be found again.

Yang Yu slowly advanced in the direction where the sky island was slowly descending, striving to be among the first to climb the sky island and confirm the state of the Village of Heroes.

After taking just a couple of steps forward, something shiny drifting above the river floated toward Yang Yu.

The river’s gentle flow delivered the glowing object before Yang Yu’s eyes. Bending over to pick it up, he discovered it was a glowing feather.

The feather drifted over without a speck of water on it, surprisingly soft.

Yang Yu opened the system and identified the glowing feather:

”[Angel’s Feather]

[Unique Effect[Goddess’ Guidance]: When made into a tool, it grants the tool a ”10% luck enhancement” effect].”

Angel’s Feather, meaning there might be an angel nearby?

Yang Yu raised his head and looked around, seeking traces of the angel, yet he found no shining figure.

Actually, the angel was not elsewhere but right in the river before Yang Yu.

A gentle voice echoed in Yang Yu’s ears:

”[We shouldn’t lightly intervene with others.

However, the present situation seems exceptional.

If nothing is done, this world will surely head towards the worst conclusion.

Hence, I implore you, to convey to the world the necessity of thoroughly investigating the true situation of the Village of Heroes.

Otherwise, it will definitely mark the beginning of a tragedy.]”

Noticing the river’s shine, Yang Yu peered into the river, seeing the reflection of a golden-haired youth with wings in the shimmering water.

His appearance strikingly resembled an angel Yang Yu had seen in the Hall of History.

”You must be an angel. Why don’t you personally inform everyone here about such an important matter, instead of asking me to convey it?

You speaking directly should be far more credible and would engage people in a wholehearted investigation of the truth.”

”[Whether or not to speak is your choice.

Yet, my earnest desire is for you to do this. If you worship the goddess, sincerely wishing to do something for her, then please follow what I say.

Please.

There are various reasons I cannot reveal myself.

If truly yearning to meet us, you must first eliminate all adversarial forces.]”

The youth’s voice sounded remarkably earnest.

Yang Yu pondered for a long time before giving his response:

”I will have them investigate the truth.

As for other matters, I will base my actions on my own strength to decide the next steps.

If you insist I do it, first answer some of my questions.

Around 400 years ago, you supposedly came to this world once, what was your real purpose at that time?

In the far distant past, what exactly happened?”

”[If you wish to know, then investigate on your own.

I lack the time to tell you and cannot disclose the reasons.

All I can say is, it’s been a very long wait.

We need someone capable of breaking this situation, someone who can truly reach the end and grasp the real truth.

That person will change everything, ending our years of waiting.

Lastly...

We anticipate his decision.]”

The angel reflected within the river transformed into an illusion with the flow and vanished.

The angel’s final words left Yang Yu in utter confusion, unable to decipher their real meaning.

Yang Yu wanted to probe further, but there was no one left to question.

With no other choice, Yang Yu could only follow the original plan, hastening towards the falling sky island to rendezvous with the main body of troops coming to investigate the situation.
