Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The appearance of someone at this time and place surprised the Lamia on the Sand Sailing Ship; it had been months since they’d seen anyone.

The Lamia on the Sand Sailing Ship immediately became vigilant; no one was allowed to intrude into their territory without permission.

The Captain of the Sand Sailing Ship immediately activated the warning device.

A large loudspeaker rose from the cabin to the deck, facing the newcomers, and a booming voice echoed through the dunes:

”Listen up, people on the other side!

I don’t know where you come from, nor the purpose that brings you here.

But if you continue forward, ahead lies the territory of the Lamia.

We absolutely do not allow anyone to intrude into our territory; if you get any closer, we will immediately launch an attack!

I’ll say it again, do not come any closer!

Go back to where you came from!

We will not tolerate invaders.”

The Lamia on the mast kept watch on the movement of the giant wolf and reported to the Captain:

”Captain, that white wolf hasn’t stopped; it’s still moving towards us!”

”There’s no choice. If they come any closer, open fire to scare them off. If they aren’t scared away, switch to battle mode formally!”

”Yes!”

As soon as the soldier finished speaking, a long flame shot up into the sky, blossoming into beautiful fireworks.

The Lamia on the Sand Sailing Ship couldn’t help but be attracted by the beautiful fireworks.

When they came to their senses, a young man had somehow stood atop the giant wolf, waving a white flag.

What’s going on? Are they surrendering?

Could it be that they’ve been lost in the desert for a long time and just found their way here, perhaps they stumbled in by accident... if we give them some water and food, they should leave immediately...

No. No matter why they’ve appeared here, the rules are the rules. We cannot break them out of pity.

After some hesitation, all the captains made a unanimous decision to fire a warning shot at the giant Silver Wolf!

”Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Several giant cannonballs landed precisely in front of the giant wolf, kicking up a storm of sand. The captains initially thought this would scare them into retreat, but the young man remained atop the giant wolf, still waving the large white flag without any intention of leaving.

The giant Silver Wolf slowly approached, and after a moment’s thought, the Captain ordered a formal cannon attack on the Silver Wolf.

”Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Countless shells burst from the barrels, flying towards the giant wolf. Several Frost Ice Arrows and Light Arrows shot out from the wolf’s back, colliding with the cannonballs and causing explosions in the air.

The young man atop the giant wolf continued waving the white flag.

The Sand Sailing Ship tried several more attacks, but each time, the attacks were effortlessly shattered by the Frost Ice Arrows and Light Arrows, creating puffs of smoke in the air.

After repeatedly issuing attack orders, the Captain of the Sand Sailing Ship halted the shelling for a brief discussion.

Continuing to fight would only waste ammunition, so the Captain decided to send a few people to communicate with the approaching giant wolf. If negotiations failed, they would dispatch soldiers to drive Yang Yu and his companions out without leaving anyone behind.

”People approaching, listen up. We are now sending people to talk with you. Let us know your demands! Now, stay where you are, otherwise we will consider you enemies!”

As soon as this voice was broadcast, the approaching giant wolf immediately stopped in place, not moving forward.

The man atop the giant wolf still tirelessly waved the white flag, leaving every Lamia on the Sand Sailing Ship at a loss for words.

After a few minutes, the envoy sent by the Lamia Captain returned quietly and whispered to the Captain:

”They claim to be from the Wansheng Republic and are acquaintances of Captain Mellen and Bing Lu.

They traveled thousands of miles to get here because they acquired an unknown mechanical device. They want to understand its principle and also wish to meet old friends, which is why they appeared at this time.

Furthermore, they say...

Their strength is exceptional. If they had intended to attack from the start, they would have done so when we fired the first cannon.

If we are willing to waste ammunition and human and material resources in a fight with them, they have no qualms about forcibly breaking into our territory in a somewhat violent manner.

They’re saying if we won’t submit, they’ll keep fighting until we do.”

Upon hearing this, the Lamia Captain was taken aback, thinking though the Lamia have lived in an isolated desert, they have never slacked off, and what audacity from such arrogant words!

The Lamia Captain immediately dispatched subordinates to test Yang Yu’s true capabilities.

The result was that the dispatched powerful individuals returned in just a few minutes, bruised and battered.

The opposing party even provided healing potions, though the Lamia soldiers were uncertain about using the potions given by Yang Yu.

The patrolling Lamia at the borders had never encountered such a situation and could only activate the emergency communication device to report the current intelligence to the Lamia Queen.

The Lamia Queen, indulging in a luxurious milk and rose bath while sipping red wine, smiled upon hearing the reports from the desert patrol:

”Interesting individuals.

It seems we can’t stop them; thus, let them in!

Let’s see if they speak the truth and find out what they want with us.

Don’t worry, with that device, we won’t lose.”

With the Lamia Queen’s permission, the patrolling Lamia stopped wasting ammunition and, after setting a series of conditions, allowed Yang Yu and his companions to approach.

Yang Yu and his companions officially boarded the Sand Sailing Ship of the Lamia Clan, heading towards the Lamia settlement.

The world now faces an unprecedented crisis, and coming into conflict with another race is the worst plan. That’s why Yang Yu chose to endure many attacks and still use relatively peaceful means to solve current problems.

Unlike protagonists in some tales or novels, who, regardless of right or wrong, or circumstance, feel the need to retaliate doubly for any offense, which can lead to a cycle of enemies.

Yang Yu considers a true enemy to be someone with completely opposing positions and irreconcilable conflicts.

Though Tian Hanxue harbors romantic feelings for Yang Yu, she doesn’t change her stance and consistently sides with the Demon Clan.

If Tian Hanxue could share everything she knows with Yang Yu, and if Yang Yu could find a perfect solution for their conflicts, he would willingly intervene as before, to cease fire between Humans and the Demon Clan.

This isn’t because Yang Yu seeks to be a saint, but because he believes unresolved disputes will inevitably lead to future conflicts, even if this Human-Demon King war is ended. A new Demon King would surely emerge in a few hundred years.

Of course,

If the conflicts are truly irreconcilable, and one side must be completely destroyed, relying on powerful force to end everything, Yang Yu would proceed without hesitation.

This is what the world he once lived in taught him.
