Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”That’s right.”

Brian Redbeard gave Yang Yu an affirmative response,

”That’s the reason why I want to keep persisting despite failing again and again. Even if I fail, the ’light’ I see next time will be a little more.

It’s not just me; the other Dwarves have already realized it too.

As long as we continuously forge high-grade materials, the ’light’ we see will become more, perhaps even witnessing the fusion of light and light.

As long as we continuously forge high-grade materials, our skills will one day become unmatched. Not to mention Epic Equipment, perhaps even Legendary Equipment could be created.

But...”

”Where can you find such a vast amount of high-grade materials?” Yang Yu said.

Brian Redbeard furrowed his brow, ”The most despairing thing in this world is knowing where the end is and knowing how to reach it, but having no way to reach it even if you spend your whole life trying.

It’s like a race where you see where the end is and know that if you can run over there, you can win, but halfway through, your limbs are broken, and even if you drag yourself with your shoulders, the goal is still out of reach.

Since this is the case...”

The rest of the words, Brian Redbeard really couldn’t say, so Yang Yu had to say for him what Brian Redbeard least wanted to say,

”Since this is the case, wouldn’t it be easier to just lie down and do nothing from the start.”

Yang Yu understood why the Dwarves collectively rejected his requests, refusing to forge Epic Equipment for him.

On the one hand, they truly lacked the confidence to turn unfamiliar materials into Epic Equipment, and on the other hand.....

”Actually, you’re more afraid that if you come into contact with those high-grade materials again, the fire in your heart will reignite, burning everything to ashes.

Knowing a way to get stronger isn’t something you can easily put down.”

”You’re not one of us; you don’t know the pain of hitting a bottleneck in forging techniques.

Nor do you understand how much a small piece of high-grade material can improve our forging ability...

....This is also an unavoidable fact.

As long as there is a desire to advance towards that peak, there’s no intention to stop, even knowing walking this road requires an astronomical amount of money.

What’s even worse is, sometimes even money can’t buy the things you need.

Most high-grade Magic materials are only produced in Underground Mazes, and the uses of those Magic materials are not just for crafting...”

Yang Yu spoke up, ”Mazes that can produce high-grade materials can only be conquered by high-level adventurers.

And high-level adventurers never lack rare Equipment.

They prefer to turn Magic materials into Potions, or other life-saving Magic Tools.”

”So...it’s a completely impossible dream to achieve.”

Brian Redbeard hung his head in melancholy.

Realizing this made him fall into despair, losing faith in forging, yet not entirely losing hope.

Now he makes ends meet by running this Blacksmith Shop, taking on orders to get by, trying not to recall that feeling from that day. As long as he doesn’t recall that feeling, he won’t want to forge.

Not forging means not reaching for the unattainable stuff.

Even if spending a great amount of time and effort barely succeeds, how much longer could he live then, how many times could he forge?

This muddling through... perhaps, it’s the right way.

”I understand.”

Looking at Brian Redbeard in this state, Yang Yu stood up, but he didn’t prepare to leave.

Instead, he began placing blocks of different colored stones in front of Brian Redbeard, stacking them like coals.

These were materials Yang Yu obtained from Underground Mazes and through the System’s lottery, including high-grade and intermediate-grade Magic materials.

Brian Redbeard had no idea what Yang Yu wanted to do, but his eyes were fixed on the colorful Magic materials in front of him.

Though he had decided to give up the Forging Hammer, Brian Redbeard couldn’t help but gaze at these Magic materials.

”I’ll pay you with these Magic materials for making the Equipment for me.”

Brian Redbeard thrust his right hand into his tangled beard,

”Where did you start misunderstanding me? Just now, didn’t you act like you knew everything? Why now...”

Yang Yu smiled, ”I never said I knew everything. Whatever light you were talking about, or bottleneck, I have no idea what they mean.

You old man, stop thinking about those insubstantial things.

You went on those challenges to prove your forging skills, didn’t you?

How did you forge when you didn’t have that light-seeing ability?

It’s good to be able to see ’light,’ but always chasing that light and ignoring your own skills is somewhat putting the cart before the horse.

It’s normal to need to adapt when you first get a material you don’t know how to use.

How do you usually adapt...”

Brian Redbeard instinctively replied, ”My master taught me that some materials have similar properties...as long as you remember the different parts, you can make your Forging Technique...ever-changing.....”

”That’s not bad.

You can try using a portion first, and adapt carefully.

Recasting high-grade Magic materials will lower the quality, but they’re still usable.

Think about how you first saw that light, when you were always reluctant to use those materials..... using them sparingly until you finally sensed that light.

There are many materials in this world, mastering them completely is incredibly difficult, but mastering a few shouldn’t be hard.

I’ll leave these materials to you. I don’t want a weapon forged only relying on intuition; if you truly are a Forging Master, use the knowledge you’ve learned and offer me your greatest masterpiece.

Feeling is just a seasoning; it’s ordinary if it doesn’t come, but better if it does.”

Yang Yu took out a Heavenly Stone and a Qi Li Ore from the pile of materials one after the other,

”Forge these things into a sword first; I need it for urgent use.

Never mind if it’s rare or epic, I hope to see the finished product by the end of October.

As for the other stone... make it into jewelry! If you really don’t know what to do, just find something nice, and string it together.

As for the remaining materials, you decide what to do!

This counts as my advance payment for future Equipment forging fees.

If you don’t accept, I’ll find someone else.

Who knows, maybe when you’re down, someone is secretly practicing just to awe everyone.”

Brian Redbeard was unable to express his current feelings, as Yang Yu left, he tugged his hair in distress,

”What on earth should I do...”

”It’s simple, just follow your true inner thoughts. In a couple of days, I’ll come by again, lest you waste my time by not working.”

With these words, Yang Yu left Brian Redbeard’s room without looking back.
