Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Taking up the challenge letter, and looking at the task that popped up on the panel, Yang Yu’s first reaction was...

Dian Wen? Who is that?

Thinking carefully, Yang Yu recalled that Dian Wen seemed to be the person who served as his martial arts examiner.

On the first day Yang Yu visited the All Things Library, Dian Wen also seemed to have served as a guard...

Speaking of the first day at the All Things Library, Yang Yu got annoyed.

At that time, that elder brother was truly selling study materials. Yang Yu thought he was selling something else, which made him happy for nothing.

Adjusting his mindset, taking on the task, Yang Yu watched the last few magicians walk onto the circular platform.

Confirming that everyone was present, the Library Elders initiated the transmission platform together.

Abundant magic energy erupted from the Library Elders, filling the platform, spreading upwards along the steps.

Different magic energies converged and became purer, weaving layer upon layer of magic arrays above Yang Yu and the others, eventually, a beam of white light engulfed them all.

Yang Yu felt his body suddenly become ethereal, his body light and airy, and his vision turned pure white.

In the next moment, Yang Yu and the others landed steadily on solid ground, the white before his eyes gradually dissipating.

The surrounding scenery was both similar and different.

Around the platform, rings made of stones extended upward step by step, only the white stones were replaced by grayish-brown, moss-covered rocks, appearing ancient and dilapidated.

In just a moment, Yang Yu and the others had traveled from the All Things Library to Makuder, the capital of the Dragon God Evaluation Country, miles away.

The magicians of the All Things Library looked around, noticing a man wearing a cowboy hat at the edge of the transmission platform, smiling slightly at them.

”Welcome to the Dragon God Evaluation Country, partners from the All Things Library.”

Artie Roosevelt flashed before the magicians,

”I’ve already arranged the lodgings.

The registration has started.

At this time, the Dragon God Conference officials are still dealing with registration matters.

Let me first take you to register, then take you to the hotel to rest well.

Just a reminder, over at the All Things Library it’s midsummer, but we’re nearing the end of winter here...

Although the winter climate in Makuder is quite cool, during the transition between seasons, you still need to keep warm.

If you get sick during the competition, it wouldn’t be worth it.”

Artie Roosevelt’s gaze lingered on Yang Yu for a moment, said nothing, and turned to ascend the steps one by one.

Baronaco led the team and followed.

The transmission platform Yang Yu and the others were standing on was located on a high mountain in the city, with the edge of the platform being the mountain peak.

Standing on the mountain peak looking around, there were vast towns in all directions, reaching as far as the eye could see.

This city was larger than any city Yang Yu had seen before.

The city blurred the horizon, with no idea where its boundaries lay.

Under the guidance of Artie Roosevelt, Yang Yu and the others descended the mountain and entered the town.

What came into view were various races, beastmen, humans, lizard people, dwarves... bustling to and fro on the street in peace.

Makuder’s roads were wide and smooth, commerce flourishing, and every so often, Yang Yu could see several soldier-like Subhumans patrolling to ensure the town’s security.

These Subhumans were not low-rank, each above Level ninety, possessing considerable strength.

Such strength could secure a general’s position in ordinary countries, yet here they willingly served as patrolling soldiers.

Due to the city’s massive size, Artie Roosevelt took out maps of the town and distributed them among everyone on site, teaching them how to find their way in this city.

At a street corner, Artie Roosevelt pointed to an erected sign.

The sign had a map on one side, and different place names on the other.

Could this world even have bus stops?

Just as Yang Yu was thinking this, shortly after, a two-meter-tall giant lizard, dragging a multi-carriage wagon, stopped at the platform.

Many people got off the carriage one after another, and countless people boarded it.

Under Artie’s instruction, Yang Yu and the others boarded by paying.

Upon sitting inside the carriage, the interior furnishings were exactly the same as the buses Yang Yu had taken before.

There was even a magic broadcast announcing the next stop, exuding a punk vibe.

What surprised Yang Yu even more was that at the next stop, there was an elder brother clocking in to ride.

That elder brother gave a disdainful smile, looked at Yang Yu and the others with a look reserved for country bumpkins, and sat on a chair, as usual.

Yang Yu mischievously wrapped his arm around that man’s shoulder, his gaze playful, urging the riding elder brother to introduce Makuder’s situation to them.

The passerby brother immediately cast a ”so ill-mannered?” look at Baronaco and Artie Roosevelt’s group.

Both of them returned a helpless look at the passerby brother.

After arriving at the Dragon God Evaluation Country, Yang Yu and they were just passing through, not under their jurisdiction.

Seeing Yang Yu’s gaze grow more menacing, the passerby brother could only consider himself unlucky, giving Yang Yu some information, and hurriedly got off the next stop.

Yang Yu’s source of information shifted from the passerby brother to Artie Roosevelt.

As one of the editors of the Library Newspaper, also involved in making the annual publication ”Adventurer’s Peak” and creating the so-called ”Genius List,” Artie Roosevelt had long arrived at the Dragon God Evaluation Country for the start of the Dragon God Conference after the release of the new issue of the ”Genius List.”

He had visited the Dragon God Evaluation Country many times.

While he didn’t know everything about the Dragon God Evaluation Country, he understood a lot.

The Dragon God Evaluation Country, as its name suggests, is a land ruled by giant dragons.

The power of the dragons is almost unparalleled, and few would dare to attack the country.

The dragons treat all Subhuman species equally, allowing them to live peacefully here.

Take Makuder, for instance, it has faced almost no attacks for nearly a millennium, except once...

On that day, the expansionist Sethis Kingdom extended its dark hand towards the Dragon God Evaluation Country, resulting in the king at the time being hanged in a certain square of Makuder.

The expansionist Sethis Kingdom was almost destroyed in an instant, and out of mercy, the dragons spared Sethis a breath, which led to the coexistence of the current Human Three Kingdoms.

Of course, as long as one does not touch the reverse scale of the dragons, they will not interfere with external matters.

When Yang Yu inquired Artie Roosevelt why the dragons do not interfere with outside affairs, Artie Roosevelt shook his head, indicating that it was not something that could be easily disclosed, that Yang Yu would have to find out for himself.

The bus stopped frequently along the way, and finally stopped before the ”Martial Arts Hall” station, as Yang Yu gained a preliminary understanding of the Dragon God Evaluation Country.
