Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

As Iyas opened the door, a girl who had been eavesdropping against the door suddenly lost her support and fell into Iyas’s arms, causing them both to topple over.

The eavesdropping girl glanced up at Bai Jin and Yang Yu, realizing that her arrival hadn’t affected the two. She immediately stood up as if nothing happened, and pulled the bewildered Iyas out of the room.

...

...

”Lady Latis, hold on a second, I can walk by myself.”

Iyas was dragged by Latis, stumbling down the stairs.

Having reached downstairs, Latis was still not satisfied and continued to drag Iyas until they reached the garden outside the villa.

Seeing no one around, Latis finally let go of her hand, cleared her throat, opened a folded fan to cover her face, and said somewhat embarrassedly:

”I was a bit rude just now. Please forget what happened just now.”

Iyas was furious upon hearing that, ”You were eavesdropping outside, just like last time! You’re part of the Royal Family, at least pay some attention to your status.”

Latis gently coughed again and said, ”That was just an accident.

I have something very important, and wanted to see Lord Yang Yu, that’s why I came here despite the trouble.

In short, it wasn’t intentional eavesdropping.

This item, please give it to him.”

Skillfully changing the topic, Latis’s hand glowed, and a delicate invitation appeared in front of Iyas through the Storage Magic Array.

”The negotiating team has returned to the royal capital, and in a couple of days, there will be a banquet, this is the invitation.”

Latis waved her fingers, and the invitation flew into Iyas’s hand.

Carefully putting the invitation away, Iyas said, ”I’ll pass it on for you, anything else?”

”I originally had a lot to say to Lord Yang Yu.

Unexpectedly, he’s the Colorful-haired Masked Man.

He’s brought me quite some trouble; I really want to complain to him thoroughly.

Let him know just how much hardship I’ve endured because of him.

Recently, I’m not sure if he’s intentionally avoiding me, or just too busy with work, as I barely see him...

It’s a rare opportunity to visit, but it turned out to be the wrong time...

However, I did hear quite a few interesting things.

Miss Iyas, being caught between the two of them, do you not feel awkward, or are you just used to it by now?”

Raising her hand to touch the smile at her mouth’s corner, Latis realized her gossip-seeking heart was ignited and quickly lowered her head in embarrassment, yet her eyes were lively with interest.

”What do you mean by your words?” Iyas asked.

”Just as I said. Miss Iyas, you’ve been with him for a long time, haven’t you? I thought you and he were, well, that kind of relationship.”

”Yang Yu and Bai Jin have known each other longer than I have. I and Yang Yu, can only be considered just regular friends.”

”Regular friends, huh? Haven’t you ever developed any affection towards him over this long period?”

Iyas was silent for a while, then pouted unhappily, ”Why would you ask such a question?”

Latis probed, ”You see, being with such a strong man for a long time, do you find your gaze unconsciously following his...

Shouldn’t there be, at least a little...”

Iyas sighed and said helplessly, ”To be honest, I do think he’s nice in all aspects, but love... love isn’t just about who is stronger.

Besides, as my parents tell me... falling in love with someone from another race can be troublesome, especially after wholeheartedly falling in love...

Since elves have such long lifespans, watching the one you love pass away can be quite painful.”

”Elves...” Latis’s eyes opened wide.

Iyas quickly covered her mouth, she hadn’t yet told Latis about her being an elf.

”Miss Iyas is an elf?”

”No...”

Iyas wanted to flatly deny it, but seeing Latis’s expression of ”no matter what you explain, you can’t hide it,” she finally threw caution to the wind and said:

”It slipped out, so no helping it, you must keep this secret for me.

In any case, if it comes to love, same race preference.”

Latis nodded repeatedly, but without agreement, said:

”Miss Iyas, thinking this way might make you miss out on many good men, you might have already missed the best one.”

Iyas explained, ”I’ve already said, he and I are nothing like that, and I haven’t fallen for him. Between us, there’s nothing but purity.”

”I understand.

Though Miss Iyas is very beautiful, your character tends to lean more towards that of a boy.

No surprise, other than that, with your beauty, I wouldn’t believe he could resist.”

”No, if he wanted to lay a finger on me, he’d have succeeded a long time ago.”

”Even if you say you’re like a boy... this is too much. Simply put, the invitation has been delivered into your hand. Remember to give it to him tomorrow morning.”

”Tomorrow morning?”

”The atmosphere between those two is just right, you don’t want to interrupt them, do you?”

”Of course not!”

”Then, as it’s getting late, we’ll meet another day, Miss Iyas.”

With a gesture of courtesy, Latis left Chilom’s villa, returning to the Kingdom.

Iyas looked at the invitation again and again, then gazed towards Chilom’s villa...

She should give it to them in the morning, so should she go back to the villa to sleep tonight?

For the first time, Iyas felt such a dilemma because her room was right next to Bai Jin’s.

After struggling with the decision, Iyas still returned to the villa, wandering on the first floor, seeing if she could find a convenient maid to stay for the night, or else, sleep in the stable with Lotcar.

Just as Iyas was tiptoeing around, Yang Yu came down the stairs.

Iyas looked around, quickly finding a place to hide, but was still seen by Yang Yu.

Seeing Iyas somewhat amusingly hiding behind a vase, Yang Yu couldn’t help but find it funny,

”Iyas, if you plan to steal something to sell outside, I advise you to drop the idea.”

”I would never do that.”

Iyas stood up, walked toward Yang Yu, and said angrily:

”Originally, I wanted to give you and Bai Jin some time, so I was hiding quietly there, just ignore me and go on. How’s Bai Jin?”

”She’s already asleep, she cried for quite a while, her eyes were all red,” Yang Yu answered, ”She should be back to normal by tomorrow.”

”Really...” Iyas sounded skeptical.

Initially, Iyas wanted to have a few words with Yang Yu to encourage him to accompany Bai Jin well, but Yang Yu spoke first, asking:

”What did Latis come here for?”

Iyas took out the invitation, handed it to Yang Yu, and briefly repeated what Iyas had said.

There was no surprise on Yang Yu’s face, as the banquet was something Yang Yu had Chilom advocate for.

Opening the envelope and glancing at the contents, Yang Yu stored the invitation in the System, and said to Iyas:

”After the end of the war, there are still many trivial matters to handle, but those aren’t our concern.

After the banquet, we will head straight to the All Things Library to digest what we’ve learned recently.

Afterward, prepare to go to the Dragon God Evaluation Country to attend the Dragon God Conference.”
