Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu gave Lotcar a look signaling retreat, then dashed off with Bai Jin in his arms.

”Trying to escape? I’ve already said, it’s useless.”

The Diligent Zero Skill suddenly vanished, reappearing in front of the discarded Magic Wand and picked it up.

Due to its own characteristics, it was difficult for him to carry physical objects while moving at high speeds.

But that didn’t matter.

As long as he killed everyone present, he could return with the Sealing Wand of the Demon Lord, swagger back to report.

As long as the Demon Lord could return, the outcome of this war wouldn’t matter, and there would be no need for him to make a trip to Baihua City.

Unfortunately, others must have noticed that beam piercing the clouds.

He must complete all tasks before things become troublesome.

The strength of Yang Yu was still unknown to Zero Skill.

He didn’t know how long it would take to bring Yang Yu down, nor if the Magic Wand would be snatched away during that time.

Zero Skill decided to make a steady move by carrying Bai Jin’s Magic Wand to pursue them.

His figure once again became ghostly, turning into a thin black shadow, wrapping around Bai Jin’s Magic Wand.

Bai Jin’s Wand rose out of thin air, heading straight for Yang Yu.

Relying on the Wand, Yang Yu could easily determine Zero Skill’s position.

But only temporarily, in the next moment, Bai Jin’s Magic Wand fell to the ground.

Zero Skill’s trace again vanished silently.

The chaotic black rock pile seemed to become a vast sea made of stones, with the Diligent Zero Skill lurking beneath the surface like a shark, ready to engulf Yang Yu at any moment.

Yang Yu’s strategy was to erratically leap back and forth over the chaotic rocks.

He did not know how ghosts determined one’s location.

But seeing that the Ghost can pass through objects, yet still revealing itself by leaving clumps of black shadows, Yang Yu concluded that after fully immersing into an object, a Ghost’s perception weakens.

They must reveal a part of themselves to accurately lock onto their target.

The Diligent Zero Skill within the volcanic rocks should also follow this principle.

Nonetheless, Yang Yu still underestimated the Diligent Zero Skill.

The volcanic rocks naturally had gaps, and with the Blazing Fire Clan smashing many volcanic rocks to extract volcanic glass, leaving cracks everywhere, the Diligent Zero Skill could detect Yang Yu’s movements even without revealing itself.

In Spiritual Body form, Zero Skill could use the gathered Magic Power in the surroundings entirely for speed or attack.

In the blink of an eye, Zero Skill emerged from the stone pile in front of Yang Yu, his bandaged hands glowing silver, slashing towards Yang Yu’s abdomen.

Yang Yu leapt to the right, Zero Skill’s sharp hands grazed his thigh, causing blood to splatter.

Carrying Bai Jin and still on the chaotic rocks, Yang Yu couldn’t completely evade Zero Skill’s sudden attack.

Ignoring the intense pain from his thigh, Yang Yu sped up, leaping past Zero Skill.

In the Spiritual Body state, Zero Skill moved quickly, but when materializing, his speed slowed considerably.

Additionally, dematerializing also took him some time.

This was the only breakthrough Yang Yu could find.

The scenery shifted, as Yang Yu tread over piles of neatly stacked stones.

Unknowingly, they reached the entrance to Blazing Fire City.

Yang Yu had previously signaled the Blazing Fire Clan, asking for assistance in times of trouble.

But the communication task was completely entrusted to Bai Jin.

Now, with Bai Jin unconscious in his arms, contacting the Blazing Fire Clan was impossible.

Yang Yu could only pray that the Blazing Fire Clan would notice his panic and do something.

Yet, no matter how many heated gateways laden with Blazing Fire stones Yang Yu passed, there was no response.

The Diligent Zero Skill carried Bai Jin’s Wand once again in pursuit.

Watching Bai Jin’s Wand thrust back into the stones, the Diligent Zero Skill initiated the ”Attack Forecast.”

With a [Support Charge], Yang Yu reached Lotcar not far away, placing the still-unconscious Bai Jin on Lotcar’s back.

Then, Yang Yu tugged on Lotcar’s fur, signaling Lotcar to halt.

Yang Yu pulled out the [Goddess’s Smile] in his left hand and a sword in his right hand.

A blood-red color spread from Yang Yu’s chest, shrouding him in a crimson cloak.

Now he could only try whether the [Fury Blood] that dealt True Damage would work.

”Yang Yu, behind you!” Lotcar shouted.

During Yang Yu’s preparation, Zero Skill had silently turned into a black shadow and crept onto Yang Yu’s back.

”You obviously can’t use magic at all, making me your absolute nemesis.

I told you, no matter how you run, it’s useless.

Your mistake was opposing our sect!

Farewell.”

Zero Skill’s bandaged right hand gripped Yang Yu’s throat, his left hand transforming into a hand blade, slashing at Yang Yu’s neck.

Yang Yu pressed 「Goddess’s Smile」 hard, a holy light burst from the necklace, enveloping Yang Yu, Bai Jin, and Lotcar rapidly, followed by a Light Shield emanating from Yang Yu.

Zero Skill’s hand blade struck as if against searing hot black iron, a tremor ran through his soul, causing him to fall away from Yang Yu.

Yang Yu turned and slashed, his sharp blade leaving a narrow trail on Zero Skill.

Without seeing Zero Skill’s Blood Bar, Yang Yu didn’t know how much damage he inflicted; all he could do now was continue swinging.

Even if it was only minimal damage, he had to give it his all.

However, the glimmer of dawn Yang Yu just saw was swallowed by Darkness again.

The wounds on Zero Skill squirmed menacingly, mending instantly, reverting to their original state.

”I told you, it’s no use! Give up struggling, die for me, I have other tasks to do.”

Since the [Fury Blood] was ineffective, Yang Yu’s sword vanished, replaced by a glowing stone, fiercely smashed into Zero Skill’s face.

Zero Skill made no attempt to dodge.

Although Yang Yu’s previous attack had caused him some damage, it still didn’t earn his full attention.

In Zero Skill’s view, the Light Shield was Yang Yu’s final trump card.

With no other choice, Yang Yu opted for a frontal confrontation.

Yang Yu’s life was as fragile as a candle in the wind.

Once the protective light around Yang Yu dissipated, Zero Skill could pierce Yang Yu’s heart like he did Bai Jin’s.

No matter how many potions Yang Yu had, it wouldn’t help.

Yet, Yang Yu’s fist, gripping the Heavenly Stone, struck Zero Skill’s face solidly, pinning him into the orderly stone pile.

Yang Yu shouted to the stone pile beneath him, ”Blazing Fire Clan! Detonate now!”

Yang Yu’s shout seemed to have been heard by the Blazing Fire Clan guarding the entrance.

The stones beneath Zero Skill swiftly crawled with red lines, gathering immense fiery energy.

”Lotcar, transform back into human form, get behind me!”

Taking a few steps back, Yang Yu raised the enormous Flame Dragon Shield; Lotcar didn’t hesitate, reverting to human form, carrying Bai Jin, laying behind Yang Yu.

In an instant, red light flared, fiery tongues laced with stone, accompanied by a thunderous roar, engulfed Yang Yu and his companions.
