Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

That day, Bai Jin’s father, after a long time, washed away his disheveled appearance.

Through the reflection in the mirror, Bai Jin finally saw what his father looked like when he was young...

—A face full of depression, eyes hollow and lifeless, only a faint spark in his eyes supporting him.

The scene shifts to a room filled with dim light; in the center, various instruments are arranged in order, with a black orb carefully placed on a red cloth.

Suddenly, the black orb made a sound:

”Speak your wish!”

Bai Jin’s father almost without hesitation replied, ”I wish to see my wife once again.”

After speaking, the space where Bai Jin’s father was located became illusory, and, as the lantern holder said, the mother appeared before him.

Her father burst into tears, rushing up, his eyes once again seeing the light dance.

Bai Jin silently watched everything, feeling extremely strange.

Her intuition told her that what her father rushed towards was just a counterfeit.

Sure enough, Bai Jin’s father also realized this, slowly loosening his grip, his eyes becoming hollow once more, sitting blankly in place, not knowing what to think.

The phantom of Bai Jin’s mother embraced her father from behind.

Bai Jin’s vision became blurred.

A tear of regret trickled slowly from the corner of her father’s eye.

In an instant, Bai Jin empathized, feeling as if she were on the scene.

Bai Jin could feel her father’s endless remorse, regretting having done so many bad things for something like this, regretting momentarily believing the falsehood before him, and regretting not taking care of her as per their agreement.

From then on, an idea emerged in Bai Jin’s father’s heart.

He would not allow such enchanting things to exist in the world.

The story that followed...

Bai Jin’s and her father’s memories overlapped.

”Bai Jin, Bai Jin! Snap out of it!”

The spark in Bai Jin’s eyes gradually faded, and after a prolonged sway, Yang Yu finally called Bai Jin back to her senses.

Smiling at Yang Yu, Bai Jin said, ”I worried you. I just saw... my father’s past memories.

He seemed to have done something in the [Abyss Gate].

When that thing is destroyed, the memories he left for me would emerge.”

Yang Yu breathed a sigh of relief, then shook his head emphatically, ”Bai Jin, I have some bad news for you.

It seems our destruction task failed.

The specific reason is unclear; if you can retrieve the [Abyss Gate], then do so. If not, leave here quickly.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Bai Jin’s vision turned fiery red once again, she saw the rolling magma and heard the sound of something cracking.

Then she saw a gate begin to open from the magma, with something trying to break through the restraint, coming out from the other side of the door.

With a buzzing head, Bai Jin involuntarily pressed her forehead, speaking with difficulty:

”Yang Yu, run...

We have released something extremely terrible!”

With a snapping sound, a pair of sharp claws tore through the membrane covering the gate, and a black light beam shot skyward, forming black clouds in the clear sky.

A pair of black bat wings unfolded from the magma, followed by a hideous head like that of an evil ghost rising from the magma, with a long thin tail stirring the magma as if churning the sea.

It flapped its wings, soaring high along the updraft, rushing towards the volcano’s crater.

Disregarding manners, Yang Yu grabbed Bai Jin’s arm and threw her onto Lotcar’s back, then immediately drew his sword and shield for defense.

The demon with outstretched black wings, after flying to the crater, came to an abrupt halt, as if ignoring all physical laws hovering in mid-air, stopping before Yang Yu and the others.

A demon. A true demon.

Originally intended to destroy the [Abyss Gate], yet a demon was summoned from the Abyss Gate instead.

Could it be that Bai Jin’s method of destruction was wrong from the beginning, or is it that the timing to destroy it is inappropriate now?

A glance at Bai Jin’s destruction task showed ”Completable.”

The [Abyss Gate] was destroyed, but the demon indeed emerged.

Before Yang Yu could press complete for settlement, a special emergency task with a golden border instantly filled Yang Yu’s system, exactly like when it was with the Goddess Sect Saintess.

[Special Emergency Task: [Demon Invasion]

The demon has reappeared in this world, who knows what disaster it will bring.

Task Requirements: Defeat the demon, or seriously injure the demon.

Failure Conditions: Being killed by the demon, or the demon escapes.

Task Reward: ???]

To say defeat is to defeat, this demon has fifty thousand health, no less.

Also based on its attributes, its attributes seem too well balanced, don’t they?

The demon hovering in mid-air stared at Yang Yu and the group, letting out a chilling laugh: ”Hahaha.

I am finally free again, and I must thank you for that.

Tell me your wishes, I will fulfill them for you, provided you offer your souls as my price.”

Yang Yu lifted one foot, slowly retreating while speaking: ”Any wish at all?”

”As long as you surrender your soul, any wish is possible,” Beelzebub’s black horns emitted an ominous aura, ”Money, fame, women, as long as you’re willing to offer your soul, I can help you get them.”

Inserting his sword into the ground, Yang Yu smiled and said, ”Then may I ask you and your fellow demons to never appear in this world again?”

”Hehehe! That’s not something I can decide alone.

You don’t really want to wish at all, and you aren’t someone enveloped by despair.

People like you are the most boring.”

Beelzebub took a deep breath and laughed:

”Hahaha, I can’t believe you have the same scent as the group who created me. How long has it been since then?

No matter, no matter.

I’ve decided not to toy with you, I’m going to erase you from head to toe, from body to soul, completely clean!”

Beelzebub laughed wildly as six black light beams formed around it, its claws swinging to launch two beams towards Yang Yu and the other four towards Lotcar.

”[Interception]”

Yang Yu used a [Support Charge], arriving in front of Lotcar and unfolding a massive Illusion Shield.

In an instant, all four black spurs were completely deflected by Yang Yu.

Beelzebub stared at Yang Yu like an experiment rat, its expression extremely subtle.
