Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 365: Chapter 365: Be Careful Not to Get Targeted by the Protagonist

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, five days had passed.

Yang Yu, who had been staying in the town near the Goblin Maze, was also ready to leave.

During those five days, he had taught Sekamens a lot and had made his plans accordingly.

Sekamens, carrying the treasures given by Yang Yu, disguised himself as a young nobleman from Terun, secured a VIP card at the Chaoyang Chamber of Commerce auction house to investigate and search for the missing Hake.

Meanwhile, Yang Yu and the others avoided the main thoroughfares where the Chaoyang Chamber of Commerce was active and went about their business.

The group agreed to meet in half a month at Gorshid Port in Sethis, before heading to Wansheng Country.

If all went well, Sekamens would bring Iyas’s brother to the port, and afterward, Yang Yu would find a way to disguise Hake as cargo and take him to Wansheng Country.

Under Yang Yu’s tutelage, Sekamens had cast aside his Long Spear and armor, donning luxurious attire with a flowing hairstyle, exuding the air of a debauched playboy who just left a brothel.

Now even Yang Yu, upon seeing him, would think that scumbags who toyed with others’ feelings like him should be hastily buried somewhere.

The reason Sekamens could pull off this persona without feeling out of place was mostly due to his noble education, which gave him that unique noble temperament.

According to Yang Yu’s understanding, Sekamens was born to a declining noble family.

But his ancestors refused to admit their decline and were constantly aspiring to restore the family’s noble glory, pinning their hopes on Sekamens. From a young age, they nurtured him to be an exceptional noble, instilling in him countless noble teachings.

Unfortunately, restoring nobility in a democratized country was easier said than done.

Due to the family’s finances being drained by the older generations, Sekamens had to face reality.

After several turns of fate and various odd jobs, Sekamens realized what he truly wanted to do and became an adventurer.

When Sekamens flamboyantly walked out of the room, Qi couldn’t help but laugh, ”Captain, you really look the part now.”

Sekamens delivered a heavy punch to Qi’s back, who grunted in pain, and disdainfully said, ”You’re just a squire, mind how you speak. Otherwise, you’ll suffer when we get back.”

Yang Yu nodded in satisfaction, even the manner of speaking was spot-on, truly a playboy concocted by his own teaching.

But in most plots, people like this, who strut around acting cool and conceited, tend to be harshly trampled and educated by the heroes.

To prevent such situations, Yang Yu particularly advised Sekamens that as a competent playboy, you must learn to bully the weak and fear the strong. If someone who looks like a hero ever comes looking for trouble, be incredibly cowardly, and do not stir up unnecessary conflict.

This advice left Sekamens utterly perplexed.

What did it mean to look like a hero? Which people should he pay special attention to?

Thus, Yang Yu offhandedly cited a few examples of heroes from his memory.

First were those people who seemed untouchable, especially those oddly dressed, wielding strange items, or possessing unique skills, for they were the chosen children of destiny, gleaming with a golden aura. It’s best to steer clear of them to avoid having your 24K titanium eyes blinded.

Next were those with average looks but unexplained confidence. They typically wielded swords, and when encountering such people, pretend not to see them, and do not provoke their anger for any reason. If you do anger them, apologize sincerely right away, as they are generally forgiving.

And lastly, those who seem extremely weak but possess pride. Never insult them, for even if they currently lack prowess, they might one day turn the tables in a ”thirty years on the east bank, thirty years on the west bank” comeback.

The latter type is the most troublesome existence.

Most of them are decisive in killing, often punishing the entourage for the mistakes of one... Stay as far away as possible, and if you can’t escape, bestow kindness wherever possible. It’s best not to make any mistakes in their presence to avoid fatal repercussions.

Having taught Sekamens so much, Yang Yu should have been at ease, but seeing Sekamens looking like an arrogant playboy...

Yang Yu couldn’t help but worry whether Sekamens might be done in by some protagonist who emerged from nowhere, so he gave him an extra warning.

Although the odds of such protagonists appearing in this world were slim, it was not about the fear of ten thousand, but about the fear of the one event.

After reconfirming that everything was properly arranged, Yang Yu bid farewell to Sekamens’ team, preparing to head to the location where he could acquire Skills to become stronger.

Before departing, Yang Yu gazed in the direction of the Goblin Maze.

He had been waiting for such a long time, occasionally visiting the Goblin Maze, but still no Special creatures had appeared there.

It might be his own paranoia; perhaps there was no eleventh floor at all. Alternatively, this incident might be unstoppable.

If there was any gain, it was that upon checking the progress of the clues to the Hidden Task, Yang Yu noticed that the Task progress for [Ancient Hero Lox] had increased by one.

That meant the person who constructed the Goblin Underground Maze was actually an Ancient Brave Warrior.

This made Yang Yu quite curious.

One of the darkest Legendary tales in Human history had a Hero’s shadow behind it.

Still leaving so many Underground Mazes as challenges for others, what exactly was the Ancient Hero planning?

It probably wasn’t something as simple as wanting to help future people save the world.

...

...

One day later.

Sethis was in the rainy season, with unpredictable weather. Just moments ago, the sky was filled with stars, but in the blink of an eye, it was shrouded in dark clouds and torrential rain poured down.

The entrance to the Goblin Maze had been paved by some meddling adventurers, creating a pavilion as shelter against wind and rain. Newbie adventurers emerging from the Maze huddled around the pavilion, watching the downpour with a sigh, wondering when the rain would stop.

Some adventurers, finding themselves with nothing better to do, returned to the Goblin Maze to continue fighting goblins, honing their skills.

Over recent days, they had clearly sensed that the regeneration Speed of the goblins they killed had slowed down considerably.

What used to take only two hours for a faint glow to reform into a goblin, now took three, even four hours.

The new adventurers were perplexed.

Rumors had it that the [Red Blood Rose] had quietly visited, found a key that could open a certain door, and taken away the treasure inside, causing the goblin Refresh rate to gradually slow down.

This was not an unfounded rumor. Kegro, a guide, had claimed that someone had heard the howl of monsters in the lower levels of the Goblin Maze.

It was very likely the sound of [Red Blood Rose] battling a regenerating Lord Level monster after opening that door, and perhaps they had even encountered the Guardian of the Maze.

This became a hot topic among the new adventurers.

But among the new adventurers, the most discussed topic was neither what kind of creatures [Red Blood Rose] had encountered nor how much treasure they had obtained.

What these newcomers discussed the most was where they would go if this Underground Maze disappeared. In Sethis, they feared they might never again find such a convenient Underground Maze.
