Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 355: Chapter 355: It’s truly not easy to snatch bread from your hands

Injured and yet not letting out any howls, this spider was indeed no ordinary demon.

It wasn’t a coincidence that it appeared here.

Considering the bats that turned to ash on the previous floor, it’s highly likely that this monster was sent here by someone.

Its purpose was probably linked to the Goblin Emperor’s legacy hidden in this Underground Maze.

According to the information obtained so far, the only adventurer team that had truly conquered this Underground Maze was Red Blood Rose. Could this monster belong to them...

Recalling Sena’s character, Yang Yu immediately dismissed the thought.

Even if she knew about the Goblin Emperor’s legacy, that woman wouldn’t let her companions stay in such a place.

And if their team had other Monster Tamers, that woman wouldn’t allow them to leave a monster lonely here either.

Since the Kazan Spider was likely related to the bats, this giant spider must also be a clue to starting the mission.

To unveil the mystery of this enigmatic task, he had to defeat it completely.

Yang Yu launched ”Copper Wall Iron Curtain” and ”Steel Body” simultaneously, reducing damage and increasing his Blood Volume, creating an opportunity to attack.

A shadow swift as the wind followed Yang Yu’s sword, slamming into the Goblin Lord with a burst of Magic Power sparks.

Relying on special skills, the physically weak Yang Yu was also able to dish out considerable damage.

But this was still far from enough. Even with the Goblin Lord’s Blood Volume less than half, it would take Yang Yu some time on his own to defeat it thoroughly, assuming the Kazan Spider didn’t interfere.

Arrows guaranteed to hit their mark struck true, yet Iyas showed not an ounce of pride as she immediately drew her bow again, forming an arrow made purely of light in her hands.

”Light Arrow” could be used without physical arrows, and what’s more, the skill had a very short cooldown.

Used in conjunction with physical arrows, it not only greatly reduced the consumption of arrows but also improved the efficiency of the attacks.

Unfortunately, the Kazan Spider had already sensed Iyas’s brewing attack.

Shot by an arrow, the spider had become more vigilant, and Iyas’s ”Light Arrow” was easily blocked by the spider’s long legs.

As a counter-attack, the Kazan Spider spat a Big Net from its mouth at Iyas.

The spider’s plan was simple.

Let Yang Yu and the Goblin Lord fight on, preferably to a mutually detrimental end. At that point, it could reap the benefits of the fishermen’s gains, capturing both Yang Yu and the Goblin Lord in its net.

Then it could concentrate on dealing with Bai Jin and Iyas, turning them all into its food supply.

Yang Yu had long sensed the true intentions of the spider.

The Kazan Spider wasn’t a monster of this Underground Maze, but a living creature that needed a food supply to survive here.

Climbing several floors up would be quite a struggle, so it would not let slip an opportunity to increase its stores.

Tied up in battle with the Goblin Lord, Yang Yu couldn’t break away to help Iyas even if he wanted to.

Fortunately, Iyas had honed exceptionally sharp reflexes in the forest. With a sideways roll, she escaped through a gap between the wall and the sprawling net.

While Bai Jin, who had originally wanted to help Iyas, immediately directed the magic she had prepared at the cocoon engulfing Rococo, using Sharp Frost Ice Arrows to sever the threads suspending the white cocoon.

The white cocoon wrapping Rococo fell from the sky, and Bai Jin quickly used magic to stop the cocoon’s descent, hoping to make it land safely.

Unknown to her, the Kazan Spider ejected thick threads from its abdomen, firmly sticking to the white cocoon.

”Trying to snatch your bread from your hands is truly not easy.” [Sudden Killing Intent]

Having almost given up resisting and taken several hits from the Goblin Lord to meet the conditions, Yang Yu activated [Sudden Killing Intent].

Since quite a few Free Points had been allocated to Speed, the enhancement from [Sudden Killing Intent] took Yang Yu by surprise.

In almost the next instant, Yang Yu arrived in front of the cocoon, cut the threads connecting the cocoon with his sword, and also cut open a slit in the white cocoon.

”Iyas, you’re responsible for waking her up, tell her everything that’s happened here, and have her follow my commands.”

Saying this, Yang Yu took out several Potions from the System and threw them to Iyas.

Those Potions, which Yang Yu had acquired at a high price from the All Things Library, may not be as perverse as a Revive Elixir, but they could also remove most abnormal Status and restore a lot of stamina.

Iyas caught the Potions with a ”why me” expression, but in such an urgent situation, she could only nod and comply with Yang Yu’s arrangement.

Yang Yu glanced at Bai Jin and, with Instant Movement, attacked the Goblin Lord once more,

”Bai Jin, support me, let’s cover each other.

Use Curse System Skills and fire attacks to disrupt the opponent’s Attack rhythm.

Once Rococo is battle-ready, proceed with the rescue of Sekamens just as we did before.”

Hearing Yang Yu’s commands, Bai Jin nodded. Without much communication, she complied with Yang Yu’s will and wove new spells, both weakening the Kazan Spider and replacing Defense with Attack.

Watching Bai Jin and Yang Yu active on the battlefield, Iyas bit down on her Silver Teeth, uncorked the Potions, tore open the threads on the white cocoon, first located Rococo’s face, poured the Potion into her mouth, and then proceeded to strip the threads from her body.

Rococo groggily opened her eyes to find herself staring at a huge white pentagram and a Demon spider dodging spells incessantly.

Her previous experiences flooded back into Rococo’s mind as memories.

In their quest to grow stronger, their adventurer team had continuously delved deeper, searching for more formidable Goblin Monsters and defeating them one by one.

At first, when they reached the Ninth Floor, they hadn’t felt anything unusual.

The monsters on the Ninth Floor were already powerful, and choosing to train well there was the best decision.

However, driven by a desire to become stronger after their setbacks, Sekamens accepted the proposal by Chi to delve one more level to see if there was the Legendary door mentioned in the rumors; simply looking would carry no danger.

After dealing with a few Goblin Monsters, their adventurer team headed for the final floor.

Yet the last floor was a huge disappointment; no Demons were there—only extremely intricate designs.

Just as they were expressing their admiration for the last floor’s designs, suddenly, four spears shot from the ceiling, piercing different parts of their bodies.

Then, white spider threads descended from above, wrapping them all up and pulling them into the skies, and they fell into a deep slumber.
