Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Keep a Low Profile, Must Keep a Low Profile

The Goblin Maze could be said to be the most famed Underground Maze in Sertia.

This maze, just like the Slime Forest affiliated with the Tren Republic, was the best training ground for novice adventurers.

Most novice adventurers in Sertia would go there to learn hunting skills and practice newly acquired Skills.

That Underground Maze was also one of the few that could continuously refresh monsters in a short period.

Adventurers didn’t have to worry about attacking too fiercely, clearing out the goblins entirely and destroying the ecology established around the Underground Maze.

Passing by the small town near the Goblin Maze, Yang Yu had a sense of déjà vu, as if he had returned to Newbie Village, but the adventurers gathered here were far more numerous than those he had seen in the village he was born in.

Not only were there greenhorns who were fresh on the scene, but occasionally there were also seasoned adventurers with powerful Skills, who had no place to test them and thus came specifically to the Goblin Maze.

Compared to the soft Slimes, most people preferred the goblins that allowed for a more direct and physical confrontation.

Yang Yu pulled Bai Jin’s hood forward, completely covering He Meng.

In these kinds of towns brimming with novices, if He Meng got lost, he would surely be mistaken for a Demon that had mistakenly wandered into the village and be attacked.

With He Meng’s current strength, Yang Yu wasn’t worried about He Meng getting hurt; he was afraid that He Meng, displeased, would knock down those attacking him, causing more people to come like a series of toppling dominoes.

Yang Yu also wasn’t worried about He Meng being played with and spoiled.

To be honest, with He Meng’s current Defense Attribute, Yang Yu thought that even if a hundred people came, they would all be ground into the dust by He Meng.

Yang Yu was afraid that, if He Meng really hung up everyone in the area and beat them, the news that a Slime was causing an uproar near the Goblin Maze might reach the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce, revealing that they once came to the Goblin Maze in search of Sekamens and rendered all their hard work in vain.

After searching the village and confirming that Sekamens and his group hadn’t stayed there, Yang Yu led his team directly to the Goblin Maze.

Sekamens had said that, in their pursuit of becoming stronger, they would try to make it to the last floor of the Goblin Maze.

However, Yang Yu wasn’t sure if Sekamens could persist, and if they gave up halfway, Yang Yu would have to think of a new strategy quickly.

Entering the first floor of the Goblin Maze, the young adventurers laughed and joked, clumsily battling goblins with Skills they had just learned.

For novice adventurers, ordinary attacks that hit five or six times were enough to kill a goblin.

Yang Yu distractedly watched a few battles.

Although the goblins in this Underground Maze showed realistic injuries and fractures during combat, once completely defeated, they would vanish entirely in a streak of light, leaving no trace at all, nor any loot.

The goblins on the first floor ranged in Level from one to five and didn’t possess any Special Skills.

Even novices could handle them with ease, and since Yang Yu had already surpassed Level 50, the low-level goblins’ Experience wasn’t even worth considering for him.

He just wanted to find the stairs to the next floor quickly.

However, Yang Yu’s team, on the whole, still appeared very young and could easily be mistaken for freshly minted novice adventurers.

Especially upon seeing a beauty like Iyas, some self-proclaimed experienced adventurers would feel the flames of benevolence stirring in their hearts.

”Hey, rookie, good morning!”

An exceedingly fashionable male adventurer was fiddling with the dagger in his hand as he used ”Instant Movement” to appear right in front of Yang Yu and his companions,

”You guys are probably tackling the Underground Maze for the first time, huh? If you wander in there without any experience, you’re bound to run into trouble.

But don’t worry, you’re in luck having met me.

My name is Kegro, an adventurer who’s been around the block more than just a few times. With me guiding you, you’ll quickly grow into competent adventurers and kick off your own epic tales of adventure.”

Seeing Kegro take charge, many of the ”good Samaritans” around decided against offering their help to Yang Yu and his company.

Kegro could be described as a guide in these parts; he didn’t fight monsters himself but survived by giving instruction to new adventurers and charging them for his services.

”Of course, my services aren’t free, but for the sake of this lady here, I’m willing to give you a discount of 20 percent. Just put in the effort, and we guarantee you’ll have the strength to get through the Fifth Floor.”

Iyas could clearly sense that the flashy man in front of her was actually much weaker than her, and bringing him along wouldn’t be of any help.

But just as Iyas was about to firmly refuse, Yang Yu asked:

”I gather you’ve been mixing it up around here for quite a while, big brother?”

”That’s right, I’ve been here for almost six years now. You could say I’ve completely mastered the first six floors of this maze—I know every corner, where every trap is located, and the characteristics of every creature like the back of my hand.

With me, you’re sure to progress rapidly and achieve more with less effort.”

Without hesitating much, Yang Yu inquired about the cost.

Seeing Yang Yu’s straightforward manner, Kegro naturally quoted his price.

Kegro had his own set of rules for doing business.

He charged by the floor, with the price increasing the deeper one went, but it never exceeded 500 gold coins. The terms were quite reasonable, well within Yang Yu’s budget.

Thus, Yang Yu paid up front for guidance through the first to the Sixth Floor, asking Kegro to take them directly to the Sixth Floor.

Kegro realized, hey, this guy’s got money.

He wasn’t carrying any weapons, and his clothes were extremely simple and lightweight, which did give him somewhat the air of an adventurer; the two girls with him were indeed dressed like adventurers and were armed...

A man being protected by two adventurers...

Their presence here likely had a different purpose.

Before Kegro could say anything, Yang Yu revealed their true intent to Kegro—they were here to search for someone, and Yang Yu also asked Kegro if he had recently seen Sekamens.

Sekamens stood out in both appearance and attire, and his companions each had their quirks. It didn’t take Kegro long to remember that, indeed, a group fitting Yang Yu’s description had come by recently and seemed not to have left yet.

Kegro couldn’t confirm it, as his turf was from the first to the Sixth Floor, but he hadn’t spotted Sekamens anywhere within those levels.
