Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 357: Chapter 357: Two-Level Reversal

With a painful howl, the Kazan Spider thrust its sharp, dagger-like spider legs at the shadow darting below it.

After a few rolls, Yang Yu crouched and lifted his shield, performing ”Shield Block” to defend against the fierce stab of the Kazan Spider, then immediately rolled again, increasing the distance between them.

Slowly standing, Yang Yu flicked the green liquid off his sword blade, keeping an eye on the movements of the Goblin Lord in his peripheral vision.

Seeing the Kazan Spider change from a long-range ADC to an in-your-face assassin slashing at the backlines, Yang Yu didn’t hesitate to use ”Thorny Binding” to ensnare the body of the Goblin Lord, hindering its movements, and then he triggered ”Sudden Killing Intent” again, striking at the Kazan Spider.

The effect was quite good.

Unfortunately, the gap between Yang Yu’s strength and that of the Goblin Lord was too vast; ”Thorny Binding” could only hold the Goblin Lord for a moment.

As Yang Yu’s sword blade sliced across the belly of the Kazan Spider, the Goblin Lord had already freed itself from the restraints and swung the Wolf Fang Club heavily at Yang Yu.

Yang Yu dodged the Goblin Lord’s attack with a quick sidestep.

Taking this opportunity, the Kazan Spider extended its long legs but did not attack Yang Yu. Instead, bearing the pain in its abdomen and restraining its anger, it chased after Rococo and Iyas.

What a nuisance.

Such creatures, with a clear target and recklessly pursuing that target, are the most troublesome.

The most crucial skill for defensive battles, ”Taunt,” was still out of Yang Yu’s reach.

With this rank-breaking enemy, if he could learn ”Taunt,” Yang Yu would have a myriad of ways to turn all backline attackers into whining monsters.

He seriously looked into how to acquire the ”Taunt” skill.

This world indeed possessed the ”Taunt” skill, and there were several other skills similar to attracting attacks.

To Yang Yu’s surprise, the methods to acquire these skills were either unclear or extremely difficult and time-consuming, clearly not something to pursue at the moment.

It left him wandering and keeping an eye out for anyone who possessed those skills to learn them using skill points.

”Perhaps, I should also bring Lotcar into the Goblin Maze.”

When they reached a small town near the Goblin Maze, considering the immense Lotcar might cause a sensation again and allow the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce’s people to track them down.

Yang Yu chose to have Lotcar carefully hide in a nearby forest.

If Lotcar were here, he could at least delay the attacking pace of the Kazan Spider, giving Bai Jin and Iyas another chance to strike.

Now, hindsight wouldn’t help at all.

Moreover, if Yang Yu had to choose again, he would still have Lotcar hide carefully in a nearby forest.

Dodging the attack of the Goblin Lord, Yang Yu powered his legs and sprinted after it, even investing dozens of attribute points into his speed, attempting to get in front of the Kazan Spider to stop its attack.

The Goblin Lord pulled out the Wolf Fang Club, which had been stuck in the ground, and chased vigorously after Yang Yu.

Yang Yu had also considered whether he could draw the Goblin Lord to attack the Kazan Spider, staging a fight between two opponents while he reaps the benefits.

But upon careful thought, he realized he had already missed the best opportunity for that.

Only having half of its blood left, the Goblin Lord fell from the ceiling. Yang Yu chose to fight it immediately to end the battle sooner, but the blood volume of the zombie-like Goblin Lord was surprisingly thick; despite Yang Yu inflicting considerable damage, it only scraped off a layer of its blood skin.

Moreover, because Yang Yu’s attacks were too clingy, the Goblin Lord’s hatred had firmly fixed onto him by now, and it had become difficult to shift that hate unless through a burst of high damage.

Conversely, if they let the Kazan Spider strike the Goblin Lord...

It was simply ridiculous.

The Kazan Spider had no hatred towards the Goblin Lord at all. It seemed it had only bound the Goblin Lord in order to make someone walk into its trap unprepared.

Out of options, Yang Yu had to figure out something himself and deal with the assaults from both adversaries.

Yang Yu approached the Kazan Spider again, just having adjusted his stance when the spider thrust its leg at him.

What’s worse, the Goblin Lord attacked simultaneously, wielding the Wolf Fang Club.

Choose the lesser of two evils.

Abandoning his defense against the Goblin Lord, Yang Yu crouched down, lifted his shield above his head to block the spider’s leg, and then let the Goblin Lord’s skill hit his waist.

Securing his footing, Yang Yu wasn’t sent flying by the attack, but a pain akin to his spine breaking surged through him.

Rococo immediately stopped and hurriedly cast ”Intermediate Healing Skill” to treat Yang Yu’s pain while also applying several skills that could reduce damage and increase resistance.

Taking advantage of the deadlock between the Goblin Lord and the Kazan Spider, Yang Yu turned to Bai Jin,

”Bai Jin, take this chance, change the target! Take down the Goblin Lord first!”

Seeing the fresh blood seeping from Yang Yu’s waist, Bai Jin felt a sudden squeeze in her heart, her hand gripping the magic wand even trembled, but she quickly completed the magic in her hands.

The Goblin Lord was puzzled; surely this attack should have slammed Yang Yu against the wall and made him suffer, yet Yang Yu stood unshaken like a mountain.

This moment of hesitation from the Goblin Lord was seized by Bai Jin, who released a sharp Ice Spear from the Array she had woven, piercing through the Goblin Lord’s left arm and repelling it away from Yang Yu.

Smelling the thick scent of blood, the Kazan Spider knew Yang Yu was injured and no longer fixated on targeting the weaker Rococo.

First taking out the injured target to render him incapable of fighting seemed a rough yet effective choice.

However, as the Kazan Spider was about to attack, its spider leg froze mid-air.

Reflected in the seven eyes of the Kazan Spider was the image of Yang Yu.

The man’s eyes were filled with fearlessness, confidence, and a deadly resolve that he would defeat it, causing the Kazan Spider to suddenly feel fear as if the roles of hunter and prey were reversed in that brief moment.

Repelled by Bai Jin, the Goblin Lord still roared towards Yang Yu.

Despite the wound on its arm, it did not slow down; it was a creature of the Underground Maze, a Goblin Mummy, driven solely by its instinct to fight.

That was the duty of the Underground Maze creatures.

Facing the attacking monster, Yang Yu spat out the blood in his mouth, crouched down, and assumed his stance again,

”Bai Jin, that’s right, let’s focus fire and finish off the Goblin Lord first.”

Then, Yang Yu paused, a different kind of determination evident in his eyes, and said to Rococo:

”Rococo, you are an excellent Priest, my life is in your hands for now. I’ll try to hold them both off.”
