The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1497: Chapter 1497: No Wonder Amadeus Likes Her

”This...” The Quarles Family driver, used to being domineering in the M country, didn’t expect a young girl to speak to him like this.

He thought of Ellen Quarles’s orders, his gaze turned cold, and he said, ”If Ms. Quinlan doesn’t cooperate, I will ’invite’ Ms. Quinlan to come with me!”

He emphasized the word ’invite’ heavily.

When he said ’invite’ Nathalie Quinlan to come, what he really meant was to coerce her to go with him.

Nathalie raised an eyebrow, her deep black eyes showed a hint of coolness.

It had been a long time since Nathalie had seen anyone dare to threaten her so blatantly.

Nathalie was just about to ask him how he planned to ’invite’ her when a clear voice suddenly interrupted—

”Ms. Quinlan, you finally returned.”

Nathalie looked in the direction of the voice and saw a man in a suit and leather shoes walking toward her from a distance. The man was tall, with a high nose bridge and well-defined features; he seemed like a mixed-race individual.

The man walked towards them, stopping in front of her as if he knew her well, and greeted, ”Amadeus said you went to the Pharmaceutical Association and asked me to wait for you below the hotel.”

When Nathalie heard him mention Amadeus Yancey, she roughly understood what was happening.

After saying this, the man casually looked at the Quarles Family driver and softly asked her, ”Who is this? Do you know each other?”

The Quarles Family driver seemed to recognize the man in front of him, displaying a look of apprehension and fear. Without waiting for Nathalie to speak, he quickly said, ”Since Ms. Quinlan has an appointment today, I won’t disturb you. I’ll come to see you another day.”

After speaking, he didn’t dare make any eye contact with the man and hurriedly ran off.

The Quarles Family’s car, which had previously driven up arrogantly, now sped off without a trace of its earlier arrogance.

...

The man waited until the Quarles Family’s car had completely driven away, then sighed in relief and turned to speak to Nathalie: ”Are you alright?”

He thought for a moment, fearing that Nathalie might misunderstand, and quickly explained, ”I work for Amadeus; he should have given you my phone number.”

”He did give me a phone number.” Nathalie said calmly.

Felix Kingsley saw that she was not frightened, felt a bit relieved, and explained, ”Amadeus guessed that you might encounter someone inconsiderate, so he instructed me to keep an eye on things below the hotel. Luckily you’re fine.”

He had strong facial features, and with his mixed-race appearance, he stood out. He introduced himself to Nathalie in a refined manner: ”Hello, Ms. Quinlan, my name is Felix Kingsley. I work under Amadeus, mainly responsible for matters in Orlais.”

Felix had previously received a message from Amadeus Yancey to protect Nathalie’s safety around the clock.

It was the first time he had seen Amadeus take such care for anyone.

At first, seeing the other person was a young girl, he didn’t understand why Amadeus wanted him to put everything on hold to specifically ensure a girl’s safety.

But at this moment, when Felix saw Nathalie’s striking face, he finally understood why.

Ms. Quinlan really is quite beautiful; no wonder Amadeus is fond of her.

Felix smiled warmly and extended his hand very politely: ”Nice to meet you, please guide me.”

Nathalie originally had her eyebrow slightly raised. Seeing the man’s gaze move over her face, she lazily lowered the brim of her hat.

She shook hands with Felix briefly and then withdrew, greeting him: ”Nathalie Quinlan.”

”I know, Amadeus has told me your name.”

After speaking, Felix checked the time on his watch, looked at the girl with the single shoulder bag, and thoughtfully said, ”You haven’t eaten yet, have you, Ms. Quinlan? How about I take you to dinner first?”
