The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1477: Chapter 1477: Owen Yapiter’s Condition Is Critical

Outside the hospital corridor, the Yapiter family gathered together.

Each of their faces was marked with a heavy expression.

Nine o’clock.

The door to the intensive care unit opened, and several specialists filed out of the ward.

Mrs. Yapiter reacted the fastest, immediately stepping forward: ”Doctor, how is my dad’s condition?”

A few doctors held the latest examination reports in their hands, engaging in hushed negotiations.

The middle-aged man in the white coat leading the group caught a glimpse of Mrs. Yapiter out of the corner of his eye, said a word to his colleagues, and handed the examination results to the person beside him.

He turned to Mrs. Yapiter with a somber expression: ”Mr. Yapiter’s examination results are out, and the situation is not optimistic.”

Mrs. Yapiter swayed slightly.

Fortunately, Evron Barness quickly supported her so she didn’t collapse.

She looked anxiously at the doctor, her eyes gathering mist, her voice tinged with tears: ”Then my dad...”

”I can only say that Mr. Yapiter’s situation is not optimistic; nothing else can be concluded yet.”

The doctor succinctly explained Owen Yapiter’s current physical condition to them.

”We conducted a comprehensive examination on Mr. Yapiter and found that, in addition to having a malignant tumor on his aortic vessel, the biggest issue is that he has a hemolytic immune disease.”

”Doctor, what is a hemolytic immune disease?” Most of the Yapiter family didn’t understand the medical terminology, so they hurriedly asked him.

The middle-aged doctor raised his hand, adjusted the glasses on his nose bridge, and sighed: ”How should I explain this to you?”

”Let me put it this way: all healthy people have an immune system, and it is because of the immune system’s presence that we rarely catch colds or fevers. Mr. Yapiter’s problem is that his immune system has fallen ill. Because it has lost its function, his body is extremely weak. The reason for his recurring high fevers since the day before yesterday is also due to this immune system...”

Mrs. Yapiter opened her mouth, but her words hadn’t yet come out.

Owen Yapiter’s attending doctor seemed to know what she wanted to ask: ”Immune diseases have always been a challenge in the medical field, and treating them is very difficult. We are basically using targeted drugs.”

”We have previously tried GD2 CAR-T cell therapy, but the results were not ideal, and related research is still underway.”

”Aside from GD2, some current clinical targeted drugs aimed at vascular formation are relatively successful, but these two drugs have not yet been approved and are expected to be released next month.”

The doctor said with difficulty: ”This is only the overseas release date; within the country, it still needs multiple levels of approval. I estimate it could be difficult even next year!”

Owen Yapiter clearly cannot wait that long!

This time, Mrs. Yapiter truly felt drained of strength, barely able to stand.

Her face turned ashen, her mind buzzing: ”How can there be no medicine available on the market?”

Without medicine, even with money and connections, they couldn’t buy it!

For the first time, Mrs. Yapiter realized how fragile an individual’s power is, that even a small storm could demolish a family.

She covered her face, tears streaming down, turning to embrace Evron Barness, crying in distress: ”Jishen, your grandfather... he...”

Evron Barness took deep breaths, the cool air filling his mind, barely keeping him awake.

As he patted his mother’s back, his gaze was unwavering, passing over a crowd of experts to fall on the girl among them, radiating like a star among moons.

”Qiao, Nathalie Quinlan.”

Evron Barness’s throat felt dry, coarse and hoarse, as if gritty sandstones lodged in his throat were breaking his voice.
