The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1493: Chapter 1493: Is Caryn Zachmann Mr. Avalon’s Disciple?

After she finished speaking, Nathalie Quinlan had no intention of responding, causing Ellen Quarles to awkwardly tidy her hair to cover up her embarrassment.

Robert Radcliff noticed Caryn Zachmann and turned to Nathalie Quinlan, saying: ”Q, you’ve always been in Beijing, have you heard of Gerald Avalon from Beijing?”

Gerald Avalon is Mr. Avalon’s real name.

Foreigners aren’t bound by as many formalities; he probably wanted Nathalie Quinlan to know who he was talking about, so he straightforwardly used Mr. Avalon’s name.

Then he began introducing Caryn Zachmann to Nathalie Quinlan.

”This new member of our Pharmaceutical Association was once a disciple of Mr. Avalon. She studied under him for a period, but later didn’t continue because Mr. Avalon’s health declined.”

Nathalie Quinlan raised her eyebrows in surprise, showing a slightly intrigued expression on her face.

She had never heard that Caryn Zachmann had studied under Mr. Avalon; she only knew that Caryn Zachmann had been learning under Adelle Wafford.

Afterward, due to Mr. Wilmar’s affair, Adelle Wafford was dealt with harshly by the Wilmar Family, and now she’s living terribly. She can hardly survive, much less remain an authority figure domestically, and is nearly imprisoned...

After Adelle Wafford’s misfortune, Caryn Zachmann, who was once a favored student by her side, couldn’t wait to sever ties with her teacher.

Let alone extend her a helping hand.

She certainly had never heard of any contact between Caryn Zachmann and Adelle Wafford.

That is to say, before Adelle Wafford’s troubles, Caryn Zachmann was close to her; after Adelle Wafford’s troubles, the two were like strangers.

”She was Mr. Avalon’s disciple?” Nathalie Quinlan’s voice was slightly hoarse, sounding as if she were quite interested.

Robert Radcliff still didn’t know that his so-called ”Mr. Avalon’s exclusive disciple” was merely a lie concocted by Ellen Quarles, who took advantage of the distance between Beijing and M City, just to gild Caryn Zachmann. So, he nodded solemnly and said: ”Yes, but Mr. Avalon later didn’t take disciples due to his health issues.”

People in the Pharmaceutical Association only speak based on strength.

Mr. Avalon isn’t an expert specializing in medicine, but he still has significant achievements in the medical field. People in the Pharmaceutical Association have heard of his name and greatly respect this Chinese medicine master.

Caryn Zachmann bit her lip nearly to the point of bleeding, fearing that Nathalie Quinlan would expose her lie, feeling humiliated and disgraceful, as if being fried in a hot oil pan.

”I...”

Celine Tucker was also afraid that Nathalie Quinlan would expose their lies, so she tensed up her back, vigilantly watching Nathalie Quinlan, ready to cover up for Caryn Zachmann at any moment.

She even thought it through: if Nathalie Quinlan exposed their lie, she would just say it’s normal that Nathalie Quinlan wouldn’t know about the past, having been in Beijing for less than half a year.

Who would have thought Nathalie Quinlan had no intention of exposing them, merely uttering an ambiguous ”oh,” her gaze quite intrigued, without saying much else.

Yet just that ”oh” made Caryn Zachmann’s face burn with embarrassment, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.

”Q, the thing is...” Robert Radcliff initially wanted to chat more with Nathalie Quinlan.

But Caleb Dax beside Nathalie Quinlan had already impatiently interrupted him: ”Okay, that’s enough, you usually don’t talk so much!”

”I have other matters with her. You entertain yourselves; we are leaving first.”

Robert Radcliff touched his high-bridged nose and glanced towards Nathalie Quinlan, feeling quite reluctant. However, he didn’t dare to compete with his teacher for attention, and could only helplessly watch Caleb Dax lead the girl towards the medicine storage area...

Caleb Dax’s relationship with Ellen Quarles was still amicable; he didn’t bother with Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker before leaving but gave Ellen Quarles face, greeting her separately before departing.

But it was merely a greeting, not particularly attentive.
