The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1495: Chapter 1495: Face Slap, This Time Thanks to Your Sister!

Evron Barness has been busy with Owen Yapiter’s affairs these few days and hasn’t been following the happenings in Beijing. He didn’t know Caryn Zachmann also went to the Pharmaceutical Association.

Upon hearing Hendrik Zachmann mention the Pharmaceutical Association, Evron mistakenly thought the ’sister’ Hendrik was referring to was Nathalie Quinlan. He couldn’t hide his joyful expression and replied with a smile, ”I know.”

”I just spoke with her on the phone; she has already obtained the medicine.”

Hendrik was a bit confused, looking at him: ”Mr. Barness, you said you spoke with my sister on the phone?”

Evron put his hand on Hendrik’s shoulder and patted it heavily twice, extremely grateful: ”Yes, it was all thanks to your sister this time.”

Hendrik: ”...”

He hadn’t figured out what Evron was talking about at all.

Because in his memory, Evron and Caryn had exchanged WhatsApp, but they didn’t seem to be familiar with each other, and Caryn had never mentioned this.

What on earth is going on?

Hendrik was completely baffled.

Mrs. Yapiter came out of Mr. Yapiter’s room, quietly pulling the door shut.

She was wearing a light-colored modified Tang costume, draping a shawl over her shoulders. Her hair was unkempt, looking a bit messy, and she had dark bags under her eyes, revealing her haggard and tired appearance.

”Good day, Ma’am.” Hendrik, polite when outside, greeted warmly as soon as he saw Evron’s mother coming out.

Mrs. Yapiter rarely interacted with Evron’s friends, so when she suddenly saw a young man standing next to Evron, she was a bit startled, and her gaze turned towards her son: ”Who is this?”

”Mom, let me introduce you; this is my friend, Hendrik.” Evron introduced Hendrik to Mrs. Yapiter and with a smile added, ”Hendrik is Ms. Quinlan’s brother. Ms. Quinlan is Mr. Zachmann’s granddaughter and has always lived in McKinney, so not many in Beijing know this.”

Initially, Mrs. Yapiter was quite indifferent to Hendrik, not very enthusiastic.

Until she heard Evron mention the name ’Nathalie Quinlan’.

”Ah, so you are Ms. Quinlan’s brother. Hello, hello.”

She immediately turned to Hendrik, speaking warmly and kindly, ”I am Evron’s mom, Fellya Yapiter. You can call me Mrs. Yapiter.”

Hendrik was still bewildered about why Evron specifically mentioned Nathalie but still adeptly greeted, ”Mrs. Yapiter.”

”Yes,” Mrs. Yapiter responded, pulling him and saying, ”This time it was all thanks to Ms. Quinlan, or else our family wouldn’t know what to do! We are truly grateful to you all; I thank you on behalf of my father.”

Hendrik’s mind was a whirlpool, not knowing how to respond because he had absolutely no idea what Evron and Fellya were talking about, so he simply forced a smile and politely said, ”No, you are too kind.”

”I’m not just being polite, I am...” Mrs. Yapiter originally wanted to say something further.

Evron called out, ”Mom.”

Mrs. Yapiter immediately turned her head to look at him.

Evron didn’t pay much attention to Hendrik; he was eager to share the good news, ”Nathalie Quinlan just called me to say that she got the medicine at the Pharmaceutical Association!”

”... Ms. Quinlan got the medicine?” Mrs. Yapiter reacted, her eyes lighting up, and her haggard face instantly brightened.

Evron nodded: ”Yes, she said she would arrive in Beijing tomorrow night and then transfer to McKinney.”

Mrs. Yapiter couldn’t contain her joy, spinning around in place to digest the good news.

Upon hearing Evron’s words, she immediately turned to her son: ”Ms. Quinlan went to the Pharmaceutical Association just for us, how can you let Ms. Quinlan fly alone to McKinney to deliver the medicine?”
