The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 738: Chapter 738: Doesn’t Reply to His Message at All_1

”...” Nathalie Quinlan showed no expression on her face, mercilessly hanging up the video call. The overly handsome face that was a nuisance on the phone vanished, and the whole world quieted down. Even the air didn’t feel as thin as before.

She picked up a bottle of mineral water from the table and took a sip, then she saw a new message from Myles Sullivan pop up.

[Nathalie, didn’t you say before that you wanted to have a meal together? When are you free, can we go for a meal sometime?]

Nathalie’s attention was drawn back by the message, noticing the rare occurrence of this person sending her three messages in a row.

She scrolled through them, knowing that in the past, she might have responded.

But this time, she didn’t reply.

She decisively deleted all the messages from Myles Sullivan and contemplated whether to drag his phone number into the block list as well. Her eyes darkened slightly, but then she canceled the operation to drag his number into the block list.

She tossed her phone back onto the sofa and bent down to pick up a towel, getting ready to go to bed.

Just before sleeping, as she passed the mirror, Nathalie noticed her hair was still not dry. She paused her step and turned towards the bathroom, found a hair dryer, and blow-dried her hair completely.

Once her hair was completely dry, she went back to bed, took her medication, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.

On the other side, the Sullivan Family’s residence in Beijing was brightly lit, as luminous as day.

Ivy Wilmar had just returned to Beijing, and after taking a shower in her bedroom, she was drying her face as she came down the stairs. She saw the man sitting on the living room sofa.

”Elliot, when did you get back, and why haven’t you changed your clothes yet?”

Myles Sullivan, phone in hand, looked up upon hearing her voice. He watched her come from the stairwell with a tense expression, quite serious and sounding tired, ”I’ll go change right away.”

”Okay.” After coming downstairs, Ivy noticed he kept looking at his phone and couldn’t help but ask, ”Who are you waiting for a message from?”

Myles Sullivan didn’t hide it from her, placing his phone on the table, yet his gaze never left the device for even half a second. He spoke gravely, ”I sent Nathalie a message, asking when she’s free so we can invite her to have a meal with us.”

Hearing Nathalie Quinlan’s name, Ivy’s face immediately turned sour, her lips drooping heavily with a dark mood, speaking unhappily, ”Why did you send her a message?”

”...” Myles Sullivan didn’t answer her, just giving her a look.

Ivy understood his meaning. Feeling a tightness in her chest, her mood suddenly became sour, ”How did she reply?”

At her inquiry, Myles rubbed his brow, his frown as if it wouldn’t unfold, his face filled with worry, ”She hasn’t replied to my message, I don’t know if she’s already asleep.”

”No reply?” Ivy had never imagined that Nathalie would not respond. She glanced subconsciously at the living room clock. It was only nine o’clock. Seeing the time, she scoffed coldly right away, ”I don’t think she’s asleep. She doesn’t want to reply.”

”I just ran into her at Narayan a few days ago. She was with Mr. Norton and Tsinghua University’s Mr. Wafford, coming there to dine. Professor Gober invited her to join us, and even Ghania was giving her face, asking her to sit and eat with us, but she refused and, in the end, we couldn’t manage to have dinner with Mr. Wafford.”

Ivy was clearly upset as she recounted the event.

”Afterwards, we ran into each other again at the hotel entrance. With so many Quinlan Family relatives present, including your sister and brother-in-law, she acted as if she did not see us, a whole group of people. She simply walked passed us without saying hello, hailed a taxi, and left. With the attitude Nathalie has, do you think she will reply to your message? She’s clearly making a statement to distance herself from our family.”
