The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 717: Chapter 717: A System Even More Powerful Than Iris Recognition_1

”...” Phoebe Hoffman furrowed her brows, still disbelieving.

As Wallace Radcliff continued typing on the keyboard, he showed her, ”You see, the iris recognition system actually has a removable source code, but hers doesn’t. The system that Ms. Quinlan installed on the USB flash drive seems to have no way to uninstall it; the only way to bypass verification is to destroy the USB flash drive. Otherwise, to view the contents of the USB, one must go through system verification...”

This meant, by implication, that Nathalie Quinlan’s system was superior to her own!

The look on Phoebe Hoffman’s face faltered. Her countenance turned dark and biting her lip, she haughtily said, ”You assert that her system isn’t iris recognition, then what is it? I’ve never heard of any verification system more advanced than iris recognition!”

Wallace Radcliff did not want to embarrass her further, but since the conversation had reached this point, he still seriously reminded Phoebe Hoffman, ”Actually, there is one... Mr. Hoffman, have you forgotten?”

Phoebe Hoffman’s iris recognition was, indeed, the strongest published research result among current verification systems.

But in fact, within their industry, there was a system even stronger than Hoffman’s.

Phoebe Hoffman couldn’t recall at the moment, momentarily stunned, she looked at him, ”What are you talking about? What system is more powerful than iris recognition?”

So many people from The Ninth Institute were here.

Wallace Radcliff didn’t want to reveal the secret, hesitated for half a second, then let out a name, ”You’ve forgotten, Red Alliance’s sun had demonstrated a verification system three years ago, similar to iris recognition technology, but more complex than it. Iris recognition identifies the data of human eye membranes.”

”In addition to recognizing the human eyeball, sun’s system included skull and sound waves, and even incorporated heart rate recognition, which has not yet been conquered... The moment this verification system emerged, it shocked the IT world. Many people privately called it the ultimate anti-theft system!”

Phoebe Hoffman also worked with computers; how could she not have heard of the system Red Alliance revealed three years ago...

Indeed, she had been inspired to create her iris system after hearing about SUN’s ultimate system from her uncle.

But her abilities were limited.

Iris recognition always had one significant flaw, which was the very problem Wallace Radcliff just mentioned—the iris recognition system could be cracked!

By exploiting the source code’s vulnerabilities, one could bypass the iris recognition system.

Of course, this required a top-tier hacker to accomplish!

Ordinary people couldn’t manage that.

But her uncle had mentioned that SUN’s system did not have this flaw; SUN’s system was more domineering, more unrestrained.

You either pass the verification.

Or you destroy!

There was no third way to bypass verification and unlock the system.

The system Nathalie Quinlan set up on this USB flash drive was just like that, she had just tested it and couldn’t crack it!

She had twice attempted to decode the system using the vulnerabilities in the source code of her self-developed iris recognition system. It was futile.

Phoebe Hoffman’s expressions were an unpredictable whirlwind, her heart already in a tight squeeze, yet she still wasn’t willing to believe the possibility that Wallace Radcliff suggested.

”Are you saying that her system is the same verification technology that Red Alliance’s SUN showed once? That’s impossible...”

”I initially thought it was impossible, too.”

Wallace Radcliff shook his head, conflicted as he tried again, facing the same results. He let out a breath of turbid air, leaned back, and with a face of disbelief yet resigned acceptance, said to Phoebe Hoffman, ”This truly isn’t an iris recognition system. I’ve looked, it’s not as complicated as the system Red Alliance’s SUN concocted back then, but the principle is similar, it has absolutely no vulnerabilities in its source code.”
