The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 732: Chapter 732: Staying in McKinney So Long and Still Haven’t Won Them Over_1

”I see,” Amadeus Yancey said, somewhat surprised he brought it up, but the corners of his eyes and brows couldn’t hide the smile.

Mr. Yancey looked at him with a springtime radiance and was annoyed, his face stern, his voice cold as he asked, ”I heard from Candice Yancey that Nathalie is in Beijing again to have fun?”

Amadeus Yancey, one hand tucked into his coat, appeared quite nonchalant as he faced Mr. Yancey’s questioning. He was the only one who could withstand the pressure, ”I don’t think so, she came to Beijing for business.”

He didn’t mention Nathalie Quinlan visiting The Ninth Institute to see Master Cadmus for treatment.

But Mr. Yancey couldn’t keep his composure and vented his frustration, ”I don’t care. You say she’s been to Beijing several times, when exactly are you going to bring her to see me?”

He paused, skepticism in his eyes as he sized up the elegant man before him, his gaze becoming peculiar, ”Don’t tell me you’ve been in McKinney for so long and still haven’t won her over.”

He had hit a sore spot.

Amadeus Yancey rarely showed an awkward expression, but now he touched his nose bridge, his eyes cast down, his demeanor impeccable, ”Soon.”

Mr. Yancey: ...

So he had been with Alfred Garland in McKinney for nearly a year, and he hasn’t won her over yet?!!

If it weren’t his own grandson, Mr. Yancey would be at a loss for words.

Even though it was his grandson, Mr. Yancey was somewhat speechless at that moment. He stared at his face for a long time, then thought about Nathalie’s academic achievements he had proudly boasted about to his old friends that morning, and felt an unpleasant feeling in his heart, ”You...”

He had spent his life in the military and never meddled in such trivial matters of the younger generation. It took him a long time to figure out what to say.

After a long deliberation, he spoke, ”Nathalie will definitely come to Beijing in the future, her performance has set her spot at Tsinghua University, once she’s here for college, the Zachmann Family will take her back. If you’ve made up your mind, you need to act fast, there’s not much time left.”

Once Ericko Zachmann reveals Nathalie’s identity, she will inevitably be dragged into the murky waters of Beijing’s society.

If Amadeus Yancey had decided to go through with the Marriage Contract, he at least needed to win her over first. Otherwise, he would be all worked up over nothing if this disappointing youngster was still pining unrequitedly!

Mr. Yancey’s mood was quite complicated; he had never thought he would have to worry about his most accomplished grandson’s romantic life.

After all, ever since Amadeus became an adult, there was no shortage of girls who had come to him with implicit and explicit intentions.

Now, seeing this, he realized that he needed to be concerned after all.

His undisguised gaze fell upon Amadeus Yancey, and the man showed a wry smile, a mix of amusement and resignation, ”I do want to make haste, but didn’t you deceive me into coming back here?”

At the mention of this, Mr. Yancey glared at him fiercely, speaking irritably, ”How long have you been at home, less than a day? You’ve been in McKinney for almost a year, and I haven’t seen you win anyone over. Did one day make a difference?”

While he said this, he raised his hand and waved dismissively, with an expression of disdain, ”Forget it; I don’t want to talk about it. If you’re leaving, leave tomorrow. Your aunt will be back tonight, and we haven’t had a meal together in a long time. Have dinner with the family before you go.”

”Alright,” Amadeus Yancey had planned to leave directly, but after a second of silence, he agreed, ”Understood.”

Mr. Yancey, feeling somewhat irked no matter how he looked at him, saw him standing still and furrowed his brows, asking, ”Aren’t you going out?”

Amadeus Yancey casually put his hands in his pockets and slowly met his line of sight. Their eyes met, and his dark pupils were mischievously sparkling, ”I thought it over and there’s nothing I need to do now so I’ll head back to my room.”

”...”

As Mr. Yancey watched his tall figure disappear into the courtyard corridor, his heart grew even more restless, so he simply turned away, instructing the butler, ”Bring me my phone.”

He wanted to look at the Tsinghua University score release again to calm his spirits.
