The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Buying Clothes for Amadeus (Get Those Recommendation Tickets Going)_1

”Actually, it’s nothing much,” Adelia Tucker’s affectionate face showed a trace of embarrassment as she looked at Nathalie and spoke softly, ”Here’s the thing, you’re about to take university entrance exams as a senior, right? Do you have any schools you’d like to attend? How about National Artists University? Do you like it? If you do, Grandma Tucker has a guaranteed recommendation spot. Your grades are good, and National Artists University is a prestigious institution. With the recommendation, you could definitely get in without having to wait for your exam results.”

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and even if there were, you’d have to be careful not to be killed by a pie falling from such a great height.

Nathalie’s first reaction was to narrow her eyes and refrain from committing to a position immediately.

As expected, seeing that Nathalie didn’t respond, Adelia Tucker continued with embarrassment, ”It’s just that Grandma has a favor to ask of you. About that incident with Jane Bailey at your school, can you let it go?”

Jane Bailey knows the Tucker Family?

Nathalie was somewhat surprised.

”What do you mean by let it go?”

Adelia Tucker sighed, ”I wouldn’t have asked this of you if there was any other way. Nathalie, Jane Bailey’s father once took a bullet for my husband. You could say that it was because of the Tucker Family that her father passed away so early. We owe her family a debt. Her mother came to see me a few days ago, hoping I could mediate a little. They know they were wrong. Could you consider just giving a punishment and letting the matter rest?”

”Of course, I know you’ve been wronged in this matter. The guaranteed spot at National Artists University that Grandma Tucker just mentioned is a genuine offer. If you agree, Grandma Tucker guarantees your admission to National Artists University.”

She thought Nathalie would need some time to consider, but Nathalie directly answered, ”My artistic skills are average and I’m not planning on attending National Artists University.”

That meant she wasn’t planning to do the Tucker Family the favor of letting go of Jane Bailey’s matter, as well!

Adelia Tucker’s expression changed slightly.

She considered the Tucker Family to be on par with the Zachmann Family; the only difference being that they started their venture in Beijing slightly later than Mr. Zachmann did. But in McKinney, the Tucker and Zachmann Families were both top-tier.

As an elder, she had humbly broached this subject with a younger person, and no matter what, Nathalie should have given her some face.

Nathalie: ”Jhovany Sullivan is my friend. If I hadn’t been there that day, Grandma Tucker wouldn’t be here trying to discuss this matter with me at the shopping mall.”

A bowl falling from the eighth floor could kill someone, let alone a steel pipe that weighs tens of pounds.

Jane Bailey had deliberately tried to commit murder.

”I won’t intervene in how the police characterize this incident, nor will I speak on her behalf,” Nathalie said.

Nathalie got up, thanked Adelia Tucker for the water with politeness and courtesy, and said to those still sitting, ”Thank you for the water from Grandma Tucker. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”

Adelia Tucker watched, stunned, as Nathalie picked up her phone and really left without any further courtesy, her lips trembling as she stared at Nathalie’s departing figure.

”... This Nathalie Quinlan!”

She had the audacity to deny her face like that!

As Nathalie left, she just received the packaged brooch from the sales assistant. The second floor was the men’s section; she thought, having come this far, why not take a look around.

This floor featured luxury brands. After browsing for a while, Nathalie bought three men’s bracelets.

Having received her packaged items and preparing to leave, Nathalie passed by a men’s clothing store and was suddenly drawn to a shirt on one of the models.

She walked in unconsciously.

”Welcome to our store.” The sales assistant noticed Nathalie carrying bags from first-line brands, and although she appeared to be just a high school student, greeted her enthusiastically, ”Hello, what can I help you with today?”

Nathalie pointed to the dark-colored shirt on the model and said, ”Could you bring down that shirt for me to look at?”

”Of course.”

The sales assistant quickly fetched the shirt and handed it to her.

”This is our latest model, very appropriate for the understated and stable successful man...”

Nathalie carefully felt the fabric; the texture was very nice, and the cutting of the shirt was also outstanding. For buttons, the shirt used understated wood grain ones wrapped with golden threads, modest yet luxurious.

She could almost imagine the effect of this shirt on that person.
