The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Leg Trouble_1

The car arrived just in time.

Stanley Zachmann called for them to get in first.

Jhovany Sullivan and the others, not wanting to part with the adorable child, had no choice but to get in one by one.

As Amadeus Yancey and the rest walked away, his deep eyes extended an invitation to the aloof girl, ”They’ve all left. You can ride in my car later.”

His voice was low and hoarse, his expression captivating.

Alfred Garland cast frequent sidelong glances.

Nathalie Quinlan was startled for a moment and hadn’t made up her mind yet.

Then she heard him say, ”Edric will come too.”

”The three of us will fit in one car just fine.”

Seeing the situation, Alfred Garland quickly invited Nathalie Quinlan, ”Exactly, Ms. Quinlan, please ride with us. I’ll drive.”

Edric Yancey also chimed in, holding onto Nathalie Quinlan’s fingertips, full of anticipation, ”I want to ride in the same car as sister.”

Nathalie Quinlan: ...

With three pairs of eyes looking at her like that, what could she say?

The dining place that Stanley Zachmann had booked was indeed not far from school, but it wasn’t the street food stall that Class A students had previously agreed upon. It was the Waterfront Pavilion.

Everyone around McKinney had heard of the Waterfront Pavilion.

It boasted a poetic charm, and the prices were just as ’poetically charming’.

He had reserved a private room.

As soon as the car stopped at the entrance of Waterfront Pavilion, Justin Wafford remained unfazed, but the rest were struck with awkwardness.

Nathalie Quinlan and her group arrived last and had just gotten out of the car.

The waiters of Waterfront Pavilion came out just in time, clad in modified traditional costumes, greeting the guests at the door with great politeness.

”Distinguished guests, please follow me.”

This wasn’t Nathalie Quinlan’s first visit here.

She held Edric Yancey’s hand, walking behind everyone, while Amadeus Yancey followed a step behind them, his broad back exuding a sense of security. From a distance, they seemed like a family.

The man handsome and the woman beautiful.

And one cute little child looking as pretty as a child star on TV.

They attracted the attention of many diners.

Soon, everyone noticed the only imperfection in this perfect picture — the little boy’s left leg seemed to have a problem, causing him to limp when he walked too fast.

Many displayed expressions of pity.

Even some people from Class A had noticed his difference from normal individuals.

Looks of surprise.

Alfred Garland, bringing up the rear, took all of this in with a worried gaze and, feeling upset as a grown man, he unconsciously tightened his fists, fearing that the young master would be stimulated again.

The young master was born with deficiencies, and when he was able to walk, they found the young master’s left leg was ’inconvenient’.

Because of this, the young master was very self-conscious.

His extreme self-consciousness led to his bad temper.

He didn’t like going out or interacting with strangers, and he detested others staring at his leg.

This time, Amadeus had come to McKinney to find that miraculous doctor, hoping to cure the young master’s leg.

With the young master’s leg condition still untreated, had Amadeus been too impulsive bringing him out and making him interact with so many people?

Amadeus Yancey too noticed the gaze of onlookers converging around them. His lips formed a straight line, tall and long-legged as if he were a towering range of mountains ready to shield them from the wind and rain at any moment.

”Nathalie Quinlan.”

He was slightly hoarse as he called out to the girl in front, catching a glimpse of the young fellow’s red and bruised face color from the corner of his eye.

”Hmm?” Nathalie Quinlan responded, stopping unexpectedly, and, instead of addressing him immediately, she knelt down and softly said to the little one who was now her height, ”Edric, are you tired? Shall I carry you?”

Edric Yancey’s eyes were already red, his palms sweaty.

At her words, he looked up, the self-defeat in his eyes shattered by sweetness, suddenly feeling no fear as if he had found a safe harbor like when he nearly drowned.

”Yes!”
