The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Coincidentally Encountering the Tucker Family_1

Their luxury goods sales assistants earned commission from sales, and not every month would they encounter big spenders. Here, the merchandise often ran into hundreds of thousands, and most customers tended to just look around.

Unfortunately for her, Nathalie didn’t even acknowledge her presence, and explicitly asked for the original sales assistant to handle the payment and packing, leaving her to regretfully grind her teeth.

...

While waiting for the packaging, Nathalie felt the store was stuffy and stepped out to the storefront to play with her phone, planning to check the stock market’s ups and downs while she waited.

She had just pulled up the screen and hadn’t had the chance to look when a voice suddenly called her name from the side.

”Nathalie?”

It sounded quite unfamiliar.

When Nathalie looked up, she saw an elderly woman in a Tang costume being supported nearby, her hair a silvery white and her face appeared very kind.

She remembered now.

She had seen this person at Waterfront Pavilion.

Back then, she had been given a jade bracelet, which she had never worn and left in a drawer at Audrick’s house.

A few days ago, she had also received a birthday invitation from the Tucker Family.

Since it was an elder she knew, Nathalie put away her phone politely and stood up straight.

”Grandma Tucker, hello.”

”It’s been a long time, Nathalie. You’re still so beautiful,” said Adelia Tucker with a chuckle, patting her hand. She took the initiative to ask, ”Nathalie, do you have a moment? If it’s convenient, there’s a coffee shop up ahead. How about we get a drink? I have something I’d like to discuss with you.”

There was a young man beside her, handsome with distinctive facial features making it clear he was from the Tucker Family, bearing a close resemblance to Adelia. He looked curiously at Nathalie.

The girl was very pretty, with delicate features, wearing a hoodie, her skin fair, with a splint on her right arm and her left hand in her pocket.

Her eyes, deep and dark with a touch of roguishness, one part carelessness.

When did Grandma become acquainted with such a girl?

Enrico Tucker was a bit surprised because Nathalie didn’t quite fit the mold of the traditional pampered rich girls he was accustomed to.

His grandmother usually mingled with prominent young women from McKinney’s elite families, but this girl exuded a wildness from head to toe, full of vigor, seemingly out of place from those within their social circle.

Glancing at her wristwatch, Nathalie saw she still had some time before the card transaction and packaging were complete, so she nodded at Mrs. Tucker, ”I have time.”

The coffee shop was right next to the specialty store.

This shop was well-known, and Nathalie had seen Emilia Sullivan and others visit before; their family’s dessert presentation was quite attractive, perfect for taking photos, making it a favorite spot for many wealthy ladies in McKinney to enjoy afternoon tea.

Nathalie found a seat and only ordered a glass of lemon water.

Adelia Tucker ordered two coffees and some of the shop’s signature desserts, then handed the menu back to the waiter.

Seeing that Nathalie had only asked for water, she inquired with surprise, ”Nathalie, don’t you want coffee? Their artisan coffee tastes decent, tolerably drinkable.”

Nathalie took a sip of the lemon water brought by the waiter and casually replied, ”I don’t like drinks that are too bitter.”

Coffee, milk tea, and similar beverages weren’t to her liking; they kept her up at night and caused discomfort in her stomach during the day.

Therefore, she rarely indulged in such drinks.

Adelia warmly said, ”Oh, I see. If I had known, I would’ve chosen a different place, there’s a shop outside that’s good too, they have juice besides coffee.”

At this moment, Enrico, ever the gentleman, interjected, ”Grandma, shall we go to the other shop?”

Mrs. Tucker looked up, clearly seeking Nathalie’s preference.

Nathalie, waiting to pick up her stuff and visit Lily in the hospital, was just taking the time to have a drink with them; she checked the time and declined tactfully, ”No need, I’m not fond of drinking beverages either, water will do for me.”

Not beating around the bush, she set down her glass and asked Adelia directly, ”Grandma Tucker, was there something you wanted to see me about?”
