The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Would You Go to a Hotel with Your Dad’s Friend?_1

Alfred Garland watched Amadeus stubbornly wanting to argue with a 5-year-old child and hurriedly intervened between them, whispering, ”Amadeus, I’ve contacted Mr. Ingram for you and we’ve set up the meeting. Are you going to head over now, or...”

Amadeus Yancey glanced at the little guy, his face burning with indignation, and tossed him an orange-flavored lollipop: ”Wait for me to come back and pick you up.”

Edric Yancey: ...

He was going to get a haircut! (Superstition: Getting a haircut in the first lunar month brings harm to one’s uncle)

”Listen to the doctor, or I will tell Nathalie that you forgot to pick her up and fell asleep instead.”

Edric Yancey: ...

He was going to get a haircut!

And be shaved into a little baldy!

Alfred Garland watched him biting the blanket in fury and silently shed a tear of sympathy for him in his heart.

The young master was truly trying his best, but Amadeus was really a sly dog!

After school in the afternoon.

Nathalie Quinlan went straight to the hotel where she had an appointment.

The person she had an appointment with was already there waiting for her and immediately waved at her: ”Nathalie.”

She lifted her leg and walked inside.

She didn’t notice that Zayn Fisher and Ghania Quinlan were also at this hotel.

As she passed by, Ghania Quinlan, with her keen eyes, spotted her and immediately, clutching Zayn Fisher’s hand and biting her lip, exclaimed in shock: ”It’s my sister.”

”Who?” Zayn Fisher had taken time off to return. The whole Tsinghua University professor incident had turned into a big joke and it was embarrassing for him.

He had just led his university team to a design award and thought that the Tsinghua professor had visited No. 1 Middle School in recognition of him, to give him some ”face.”

What a huge misunderstanding.

Out of everyone the Tsinghua professor could have visited for, it turned out to be for Nathalie at No. 1 Middle School.

And he was Nathalie’s biological father, no less.

He was still trying to make sense of it all.

Ghania Quinlan saw the tall girl with a slender waist dressed in a JK uniform standing out like a star and felt a pang of jealousy, yet her face was soft and feigned surprise as she pointed: ”How come my sister is getting into a hotel elevator with an old man? It couldn’t be that...”

Zayn Fisher also glanced from afar at Nathalie and an elderly man with graying hair, chatting and preparing to board the elevator.

His eyes turned cold.

Then he heard Ghania Quinlan’s strained voice trying to explain: ”The salary of a Tsinghua professor isn’t that high, I heard from my class that she’s been picked up by a luxury car outside school. Her dad works in Beijing, could this man be a friend of her dad’s?”

Zayn Fisher’s expression was stern as he said coldly, ”Would you go to a hotel with your dad’s friend?”

She really had no self-respect!

...

Nathalie Quinlan was still unaware that she had walked out the door without checking the calendar and had once again encountered bad luck.

She followed Owen Yapiter onto the elevator and up to the third-floor restaurant.

”Mr. Yapiter.”

This man was an even more influential figure than the Mayor of McKinney; he had to be personally received.

The hotel manager was extremely respectful as he led the way for the elder beside Nathalie Quinlan, guiding them to their reserved spot where the table was already laden with dishes.

A bright red spread.

Owen Yapiter sat across from her, his face beaming as he said, ”This hotel’s Sichuan chef is quite skilled. Give it a try.”

Nathalie Quinlan sat down and realized indeed, all the dishes were her favorites.

However, each dish contained chili peppers, so she waved to a waiter nearby and said, ”Excuse me, could you also serve us a steamed bass?”

”Certainly,” the waiter quickly dashed off to inform the kitchen about the additional dish.

The spirited old man with the tiger’s eye demeanor seemed in good spirits as he said, ”You’re the only one who still remembers what I like to eat. Those people at home, they are only worried about when I’ll kick the bucket; not a single one cares for this old man’s preferences.”

Nathalie Quinlan had saved his life before, and as they interacted more, he found himself increasingly drawn to this young girl. Her features reminded him of someone from his past, and by extension, he had always treated Nathalie like his own granddaughter.
