The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Little Sugar Pills Can Also Have Other Flavors_1

Both members of the Yancey Family received gifts from his sister; the elder one got his directly in hand, while the younger one got a promise from her.

How could they tolerate being treated on the same level as Alfred Garland by the Zachmann Family now?!

Nathalie Quinlan was never stingy with material things, and since he had asked, she generously included him as well, ”The same, I’ll buy you something that suits you next time I see it.”

In fact, Audrick Zachmann wasn’t bad-looking, and she always felt she had seen his face somewhere before but just couldn’t remember where at the moment.

Nathalie Quinlan furrowed her brows, but still couldn’t recall, so she simply gave up trying.

She fished out a bottle of breath mints from her pocket and poured out a small, white pill, handing it to the little one on the bed.

”Here you go, Edric, have one.”

”Mm.”

She would always give him a candy each time she came, so Edric Yancey had gotten used to it and obediently picked the pill from her palm and fed it into his mouth.

The sweet orange candy flavor spread out on his taste buds, so sweet that he squinted his eyes, his eyelashes trembling slightly.

So sweet.

Even sweeter than the last pill.

While reluctantly savoring the candy slowly in his mouth, Edric tilted his head and, with big, grape-like eyes full of curiosity, asked Nathalie Quinlan, ”Sister, why is this candy orange-flavored?”

The candy that Nathalie Sister gave him was oddly white yet orange-flavored.

He had people try to buy it, but no one could find it.

The old man at the candy stall said that orange-flavored candies were orange and grape-flavored ones were purple; there were no white orange candies.

Nathalie Quinlan lifted the corners of her eyes, thinking he didn’t like the orange flavor, and after a moment’s thought, said, ”I just randomly chose a flavor. You don’t like it? I’ll switch it to another flavor next time.”

The reason why the small pills had different flavors was her innate dislike for anything bitter, even medication, which she stubbornly modified slightly without affecting its efficacy.

To her, it didn’t matter whether the pill was orange or grape-flavored; it was simple, just a change of sugar content.

Edric Yancey shook his head hastily, blinking with his big eyes, ”I like the orange flavor. I like all the candy you give me, Sister!”

Nathalie Quinlan still felt that he might get tired of the same flavor because of his young age and considered, ”Next time, I’ll get you a variety of flavors.”

She hadn’t tried green apple flavor yet, which seemed nice too.

The two of them, one big and one small, exchanged words back and forth, but only Amadeus Yancey noticed that she had given Edric Yancey another small pill, a white pill so inconspicuous that he felt there was more to this tiny pill than just being a regular candy.

At least when Edric was fussy, he had looked for it but couldn’t find this brand of candy in McKinney.

...

Outside the hospital room.

Audrick Zachmann forcibly dragged the person out.

He was already considered tall among ordinary people, yet he was still shorter than Amadeus Yancey.

However, at that moment, he didn’t care about that, his brows tightly furrowed as he stood in front of the distinguished man, lowered his voice, and said in a serious tone, ”Amadeus, what are you up to?”

”What do you mean what am I up to?”

Amadeus Yancey’s eyes were crimson, with bloodlust and malice that couldn’t be suppressed at the bottom of his eyes. He raised a hand to massage his temple, the hostility heavy on his brow, his finger bones clean, the Buddhist beads on his wrist particularly striking.

Audrick Zachmann wasn’t someone who had known him for just a day or two, and spoke bluntly, ”What’s going on between you and my sister? I was only gone for half a month, don’t tell me you’re already planning to make a move on her.”

He had previously not worried about entrusting Nathalie Quinlan to Amadeus Yancey to look after for him.

Although Nathalie had a marriage contract with Amadeus, not many people knew about it, and it was still uncertain whether it would count in the end.
