The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Nathalie Can Afford to Buy a Gift_1

”Huh?”

The sales associate, holding the items, was dumbfounded, her apricot eyes wide open in disbelief as she stared and her mouth slightly ajar, ”You, you want to buy this?”

Nathalie nodded, casually browsed other items, then spotted the little seahorse she had been recommended earlier, ”And that one too, please.”

”...”

How could she not see Nathalie as a high school student!

In McKinney, many wealthy ladies come to Seven to shop and they would meticulously pick and choose, inquire and try on repeatedly, before they would even consider making a purchase.

The sales associate thought she might not recognize the brand and gently advised in a warm voice, ”Miss, this brooch is a bit expensive, it’s... not just a few hundred, or even a few thousand...”

Another associate, who was passing by to fetch items, overheard and rolled her eyes, commenting, ”Why don’t you just tell her straight, why beat around the bush? You could spend this time getting Mrs. Denio a glass of water instead of wasting it on a high school student.”

Celrent Ullmer touched her nose, feeling embarrassed, and glanced over at Nathalie, worried she might feel awkward, and told her colleague, ”Don’t talk like that, everyone’s a customer.”

”How is one a customer if they don’t buy anything?” Christella Denio retorted dismissively. After picking up the brooch Mrs. Denio wanted to see, she spoke to Nathalie, ”Little sister, this is the Seven counter. I don’t know if you’ve heard of our brand, but our prices aren’t something students can afford. If you’re looking for a gift for a classmate, I suggest you go to the small department store on the lower ground floor. Over there you can find cheaper stuff. Forty or a hundred bucks will get you a necklace or a bracelet.”

Hmph.

When had Mrs. Ingram lost her eye for talent, to let this kind of person become a brand sales associate?

Who told her that nowadays people wear their money, and if one doesn’t have a couple of banknotes stuck on them, they’re akin to being dirt poor?

Nathalie’s voice was raspy and textured, ”I don’t have much money, but I’ve got enough to buy a gift.”

”Hehe, little sister, I know your parents give you a decent allowance, and that you’ve saved some from New Year red packets.”

”I’ve already told you, this isn’t the place for you to shop.”

Celrent Ullmer kept tugging at her colleague, awkwardly trying to stop her, ”Christella, say less. You go ahead with your tasks, leave this to me!”

She felt that everyone was ordinary people and Nathalie was experiencing an embarrassment that she too could potentially face, such as accidentally walking into a brand store she didn’t recognize and finding the clothes to be too expensive. If on top of that, the clerk ridiculed her, it would ruin her mood for the whole day, and might even leave psychological scars.

The young girl was quite pretty, with delicate features and a striking presence—she liked her at first sight.

Since she didn’t have anything else to do anyway, she volunteered to accompany the young girl around the store. They weren’t losing anything, so why trouble the girl?

As she was persuading her colleague to go attend to her tasks, suddenly, a card was extended towards her.

When she looked up, stunned, she saw the beautiful girl, who looked like a star, speaking indifferently, ”Swipe the card, and wrap up the seahorse brooch you mentioned earlier too.”

Citibank Supreme Black Card!

Not only she but also the sales associate who was adamant that Nathalie couldn’t afford the brooch was taken aback.

This wasn’t a card just anyone could possess.

Having worked at Seven for so long, and dealing with rich people every day, they had never encountered a true black card customer.

Mrs. Denio immediately changed her tune, promptly apologized to Nathalie, and even tried to push Celrent out of the way to serve Nathalie herself.
