Kuai Yue and Zhang Yun at first think that it is not a good idea, but after Kuai Liang says that it would become their emergency plan to save themselves from doom and end their lives, they feel that Kuai Liang’s idea makes sense but feel that they should think about it more and decide later.

Zhang Yun left the Kuai Brothers in the main hall, heading outside where he met with Li Yan and Liu Pan who can be seen walking toward the main hall urgently, Zhang Yun greeted the two of them.

Li Yan is a very influential figure in the history of the three kingdoms, he served three Imperial Scion continuously which was Liu Biao, then Liu Zhang, and lastly Liu Bei whom he served until his death.

Li Yan was entrusted to take care of Liu Shan alongside Zhuge Liang in the original history before Liu Bei succumbed to his death, to take care of internal and external affairs, and was praised by Zhuge Liang for having the same talent as Lu Xun.

Liu Pan on the other hand was the nephew of Liu Biao and when Liu Biao died, Liu Qi and Liu Cong Liu Biao’s sons fought to succeed him, Liu Pan supported Liu Qi who was supported by Liu Bei and later on alongside Liu Qi served Liu Bei until his demise.

These two men now are just mediocre ranked Advisors and Generals in Liu Biao’s army, even if Liu Pan is Liu Biao’s nephew he doesn’t come from the direct line so Liu Biao doesn’t treat him like a close family member.

Zhang Yun: ”Master Li Yan and General Liu Pan, what makes the two of you walk so fast?”

Li Yan: ”Ah General Zhang Yun, I and General Liu Pan came here because we wanted to advise our Lord to accept the offer of alliance from Kong Zhou!”

Liu Pan: ”What Master Li Yan said is right General Zhang Yun, the two of us feel that we should support Kong Zhou at least to prolong their battle where Cao Cao will also exhaust the energy of his men and his supplies which he has accumulated.”

Zhang Yun: ”The two of you are too late, Our Lord has just decided to refuse the alliance request from Kong Zhou after listening to Cai Mao’s words.”

Li Yan: ”What?! General Zhang Yun, please describe to me what Cai Mao says to Lord Liu Biao, I can see that this alliance is the only way Cao Cao will not focus on us this year and turn his focus to Li Jue and Guo Si.”

Zhang Yun proceeds to describe what Cai Mao says to Liu Biao and also includes how Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang, are trying their best to persuade Liu Biao to change his mind as they also feel that allying with Kong Zhou is the best option for them.

Cai Mao’s short-sighted vision and greedy nature block him from looking very far into the future, he only feels that Jing Province’s resources will be depleted in supporting this losing war and convincing Liu Biao to not support Kong Zhou.

Now that they knew Liu Biao had decided not to support Kong Zhou they felt their time wasted, so after Li Yan and Liu Pan talked with Zhang Yun for some time they left the location to go back to their duty.

Liu Biao’s decision to not support Kong Zhou and refusing to ally with Liu Yao was his biggest catalyst which led to his downfall, in terms of strength and resources only he and Yuan Shao could fight each of them head-on even if he lost in terms of talent.

Liu Bia’s biggest advantage was his navy, which was the most powerful in the Han Empire but now with Lie Fan’s more technologically advanced warships and new weapons, his only advantage was gone before he even realized it.

Different from the confusing situation in Jing Province and the panic that filled Kong Zhou’s domain, in Chang’An after their defeat in Luoyang Li Jue and Guo Si tension between each other has risen very high.

Yang Feng who was the de facto governor appointed by Emperor Xian under Cao Cao’s order, didn’t have any land in Liang Province and was stationed in Luoyanh, see an opportunity where he can use this to his advantage.

Yang Feng used this opportunity to spread a rumor to make them completely break them off and take their land.

Li Jue was stationed at Chang’An while Guo Si was now stationed in Mei County, Yang Feng’s rumors are about how they decided to usurp their counterpart’s power and kill the other to gain total control.

If this rumor had spread when they still held the Emperor and didn’t like many lands, Li Jue and Guo Si would not have believed this rumor. Even if they believe it, they will meet to talk if this is true.

Now it’s different, they have clashed previously over power, lost many lands to Ma Teng and Han Sui, and lastly lost the Emperor and were defeated two times by Yang Feng and Cao Cao.

Li Jue and Guo Si who hear the rumor immediately become angry, they send their envoys to each other not to confirm but to denounce and even insult each other, which makes them kill the envoy that was sent to them.

Yang Feng’s rumor that caused Li Jue and Guo Sixto to completely cut off their relationship was known by Zhang Ji who was in Hongnong, unlike in the original history without Jia Xu at his side, Zhang Ji couldn’t persuade Li Jue and Guo Si any longer.

Zhang Ji was tired of the bickering and constant fighting between Li Jue and Guo Si, so he decided to break off from the two of them and use Hongnong as his capital, which reduced Li Jue and Guo Si’s power even more.

Zhang Ji’s choice of breaking off from Li Jue and Guo Si takes Yang Feng by surprise because he planned to take Hongnong into the chaos of the fight between Li Jue and Guo Si where Zhang Ji was busy mediating them.

The plan backfired but not a full 100%, at least Yang Feng reduced the overall combat power that Zhang Ji could have in defending Hongnong to his own army now, who will not receive any support from Li Jue and Guo Si.

Li Jue and Guo Si were furious at Zhang Ji’s lack of support and even vowed to kill him after taking care of each other, so Li Jue and Guo Si raised their army to fight competing for supremacy over their shared domain.

The battle between Li Jue and Guo Si doesn’t go unnoticed by the other Warlords throughout the land, Ma Teng and Han Sui can be described as waiting for the battle between the two to finish and take their lands for themselves.

Cao Cao also felt that this was a good opportunity, at least to conquer Hongnong, and if he can Tong Pass which could act as a buffer against Ma Teng and Han Sui in the future, where he would station Yang Feng there.

Lie Fan on the other hand feels that Li Jue and Guo Si’s territory is too far from him, the expenditure outweighs the gains so he doesn’t care about who will take that territory at the end of the day.

Lie Fan now was focused on the grand opening of Xiapi’s Academy, where today was the grand opening and ceremony. All the students who applied and were accepted have come to Xiapi from all sides of his domain.

Zhuge Xuan the headmaster gives a speech welcoming the students, Sima Yi, Zhuge Liang, and the newly arrived Lu Xun were purposely grouped up under Lie Fan’s order as he wanted them to have contact with each other.

Lu Xun was the youngest of them so he was a bit timid, unlike his adult counterpart in the future who was full of heroic spirit, Sima Yi on the other hand was aloof, and Zhuge Liang became the link that connected this group.

The truth is except for adult Lu Xun in the original history, Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi have their own group of friends who joined under the lord they served and work together to achieve their vision.

So the social skills of Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang can’t be underestimated, Lu Xun wasn’t known for his childhood due to the early death of Lu Kang so no one knows if he managed to make his own group of friends in Wu.

Zhuge Xuan was giving a speech, and Lu Zhi and Cai Yong became the examiners to see if there was a hidden talent among the batch of students from their first impressions, of course this wasn’t a good method in Lie Fan’s eyes but he let them do that.

After Zhuge Xuan’s speech, it’s Lie Fan’s turn next as the investor and Founder of the academy. His speech was short, much shorter than Zhuge Xuan where he only implied for the students to truly learn and absorb all the knowledge given to them, and then hoped that they would use that knowledge to serve him in the future.

Lie Fan’s first-class advisor Jia Xu, Chen Qun, and Liu Ye takes time off their duty to teach their first class in the academy, Xun You, unfortunately, can’t join yet due to their duty to supervise the secret port while Gan Ning and Jiang Qin were away on the expedition.

On the first day of the class under Lu Zhi, Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang followed by Lu Xun begin to show themselves how they are more intelligent and advanced than their counterparts.

The three of them showing their talents make the others jealous, as they receive much more attention from the teachers and this arouses their competitive nature to catch up to them, the three of them were nicknamed The Three Geniuses.

After a week the academy opening, Lie Fan deliberately released their future nickname, not the full nickname but half of it, Zhuge Liang of course a dragon, Sima Yi a Tiger, and lastly Lu Xun a Swallow, these nicknames were according to how they acted.

Zhuge Liang while young acted wise and kind he acted with elegance and courtesy, Sima Yi was a cold person by nature and there was a hint of ferocity in his eyebrows, lastly Lu Xun was the timid one but his ideas could overwhelm someone.

These nicknames soon spread among the nobility and scholars circle, which caused some disbelieve because of how a group of children could receive such nicknames and many decided to ignore it, only people like Zhuge Xuan, Lu Zhi, and Cai Yong could see that these nicknames were the embodiment of their nature.
