Liu Biao is worried, but under the persuasion of his advisors such as Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang, as well as his admirals Cai Mao and Huang Zu, he eventually rests his restless heart and rejects the motion of alliance that Liu Yao requested, which would haunt him in the future and makes him regret for not agreeing.

Of course, the happiest party was Sun Jian itself as the announcement was from Lie Fan Part one-sided as his emissary hadn’t returned yet to Yuzhang, the capital of his domain right now.

Since the announcement was only about the establishment of the alliance between his clan and Lie Fan’s clan, it means that the marriage alliance that was proposed by Huan Jie was rejected by Lie Fan.

He doesn’t have a problem that it was rejected, Lie Fan’s love for his family especially his sister was known to him during their time in the alliance against Dong Zhuo, as Lie Fan likes to talk about his family.

His sister is the one he talks about the most, Sun Jian of course feels the same as him considering that he had his first daughter Sun Shang Xiang born at 182 from his concubine, seeing the baby girl melted his heart.

He spoiled her and told his eldest sons Sun Ce and Sun Quan to always take care of her. Sun Quan was born earlier in the same year as Sun Shang Xiang, so he was her older brother but of the same age. (AT:In Wiki and other sources, Sun Shang Xiang was listed as being born between 182 and 191 AD)

The announcement of the alliance between the two clans alleviated Sun Jian’s prestige greatly in the Jiangdong region, overshadowing Liu Yao’s prestige making many talented people in the region head toward Yuzhang.

Sun Jian’s morals and bravery have been known by many people, but some hesitated to choose him due to his prestige wasn’t that remarkable due to some of his achievements being overshadowed by Lie Fan.

Now that Lie Fan ’recognized’ Sun Jian as his equal, the Noble circle in Jiangdong that was dissatisfied with Liu Yao decided to support Sun Jian, and his talents with grassroots background also floc toward him, since Liu Yao didn’t give them a chance.

Liu Yao with his council now in a state of panic, as Sun Jian who managed to take Yuzhang from them allied themselves with Lie Fan, who was just across him to the north, only separated by the Yangtze River.

Liu Yao decided to mobilize his navy, in the hope that it intimidate Lie Fan as he thought that the Central Warlords didn’t have a large navy, not knowing that Lie Fan’s navy could decimate his to matter of seconds.

The movement of Liu Yao’s Navy was known by Lie Fan and his advisors, but they decided to not respond to his move as they wanted to hide their navy, their trebuchet already shocked the land so they wanted to slowly reveal Lie Fan’s trump card.

While in the South some movements were made, with Lie Fan as the mastermind behind all the waves that were happening, At Jibei Lu Bu and Chen Gong were preparing their defenses against Cao Cao.

After the retreat from Puyang, Cao Cao didn’t chase them and stayed in Puyang consolidating his influence in the region again, while allowing his army to rest and recuperate also pressuring Lu Bu.

Chen Gong: ”My Lord, we have around 125,000 men included with Gao Shun’s men who he brought to defend Jibei, it’s more than enough to contend against Cao Cao’s attack.”

Lu Bu: ”How about our supplies? Is it enough to sustain our army in defending Jibei?”

Chen Gong: ”It’s enough My Lord, Jibei has its own Supply and Emergency granary alongside the supplies we brought from Puyang it can sustain us for about 6 months.”

Lu Bu: ”That’s good, prepare our army to defend Jibei as the reports that we receive from our scouts are that Cao Cao and his party are approaching Jibei.”

Chen Gong: ”Yes My Lord, before I leave I have a question that I would like to ask.”

Lu Bu: ”Ask away, we have passed many ordeals together, you don’t need to be so nervous Gongtai.”

Chen Gong: ”Then My Lord, I would like to know if the Young Miss will take part in the defense alongside her unit?”

Lu Bu wasn’t surprised that Chen Gong asked him this, Lu Lingqi’s participation in the defense of Puyang had opened some eyes, as this was the first time that a woman led more women to battle.

His generals don’t care about this, as long as Lu Lingqi can help in some way and she also will not block their way to a promotion, it’s because she was a woman so she was barred from receiving an official position.

Of course, if Lu Bu wanted to change the status quo, some of his generals would not oppose him such as Gao Shun and Zhang Liao who followed him loyally for a long time, and also watched Lu Lingqi grow from a baby.

But the car is different with some of his generals who joined along the way, even Hou Cheng and his two sworn brothers Song Xian and Wei Xu oppose him, of course, Lu Bu will not change the status quo as he doesn’t have the influence to do so.

Doing so means declaring we against the entire foundation and belief of Confucianism that are rooted deep in the heart of the people, especially the nobles and scholars who use this to maintain their status along the way.

Lu Bu also doesn’t want to hold his daughter from doing what she wants, so he says to Chen Gong that he will allow Lu Lingqi to participate in the battle, but under the condition that her unit is stationed by his side.

Chen Gong nodded his head acknowledging Lu Bu’s statement, after that he left Lu Bu’s office and began to draw up the strategy for the defenses on Jibei.

While making the strategy, he actually thinks about one thing that he hasn’t said to Lu Bu, Cao Cao was a lustful man and loved beautiful women, which is one of his weaknesses and he is afraid that Lu Lingqi will be targeted by Cao Cao.

He is Cao Cao’s friend, of course, he knows his lustful nature especially with his rising as a prominent warlord, it raises several levels which causes him a headache at the time.

Chen Gomg can only sigh, and continue to make the list the perfect strategy so that they can defend Jibei successfully, his pressure is enormous as he is competing against Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai.

Several days passed by, and Lu Bu and Chen Gong received word that Cao Cao’s army was 5 kilometers away from Jibei to the west, so they immediately ordered the army to go to their station.

Lu Bu also gave a speech at this time, saying how this was their biggest battle yet which would divide their life and death, he hoped that everyone could fight like this was their last battle to protect their families.

Lu Bu also promised rewards and feats that would be held after their win, Lu Lingqi who was standing beside Lu Bu saw how her father gave a speech with such passion which made her fighting spirit burn even more.

At this time, they heard the sound of a war drum coming from the horizon, 200,000 of Cao Cao’s soldiers were heading toward them. Cao Cao originally lost around 25,000 men but under Guo Jia’s coordination, he took out 25,000 men from Xuchang.

This reduced the amount of army to defend Xuchaang, so Cao Cao wanted to finish this battle as fast as they could to capture Lu Bu, and then he could send some of his men back to Xuchang.

Cao Cao and Lu Bu’s army began to clash without much nonsense as it had previously in the Battle of Wuxing, as this time Cao Cao wanted to finish this battle early.

The 200,000 men were split into three armies by Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai, to attack the West, North, and South Gates of Puyang. Chen Gong also split the army into three sides, calculating the possibility of this happening.

Cao Cao and Lu Bu respectively led the army on the main battlefield in the West Gate, Xiahou Dun and Gao Shun led their respective army in the North Gate, and lastly, Cao Ren and Zhang Liao led their respective army on the South Gate.

The ongoing battle was fierce, both sides had something they couldn’t lose especially Ku Bu who felt that if he lost this battle, he would let down his family again to live a wandering life again.

Lu Bu and Lu Lingqi stand side by side, killing Cao Cao’s soldiers who climbed up the wall left and right, showing the duo dominance of Father and Daughter showing their martial arts and prowess.

At the North and South Gate, the battle was different and completely opposite to each side, as Cao Ren a formation general faced off against Zhang Liao who was a frontline general.

While Xiahou Dun a frontline general faced off against Gao Shun who was a formation general, it actually makes sense to do this pair in terms of defense, which gives Lu Bu’s side an advantage.

Xiahou Dun who is a frontline general will definitely send his men to continue climbing the siege ladders while waiting for the battering ram to break through the gate, Gao Shun uses his formation and his unit the Formation Breaker to defend the wall not allowing Xiahou Dun men slip inside or found an opening.

Zhang Liao uses brute force to crush Cao Ren’s formation or tactics used to send his men since the formation was of no use when his men climbed up the wall and met with Zhang Liao’s brute force since they didn’t have the time to enter the formation.

On the main battlefield, Cao Cao saw how Lu Bu singlehandedly supported the defense using his prowess, so he decided to send Xu Chu to have him face off against Lu Bu, sending Li Dian and Yue Jin to support him also.

Xu Chu, Li Dian, and Yue Jin passed through the sea of Cao Cao’s men where they climbed up the siege ladders and finally came face to face against Lu Bu and Lu Lingqi who were killing their men as easily as slicing butter.

Lu Bu and Lu Lingqi also saw Xu Chu, Li Dian, and Yue Jin who was standing across from them, Lu Lingqi seeing Li Dian immediately remembered who he was, the man she fought against before at Puyang.

Xu Chu who was eager to test his strength against Lu Bu, immediately attacked Lu Bu using his rod hammer. Lu Bu who saw this immediately deflected the attack using his halberd, feeling the heaviness from the strike he was surprised as he saw that Xu Chu didn’t have much in terms of skills, so he used just pure strength which he had never found before except for Dian Wei who he fought against in Hulao Pass.
