Of course, they were welcomed by Lie Fan but Lie Fan restricted how much land they received, as Lie Fan prioritized his allies, such as the Mi Clan and the Merchants from the Yu Merchant Group, so it was easier to control the development of Taipei to what he wants.

The People of Xu Province and Yu Province were enthused by the prospect of a better life, and free land that was provided by Lie Fan to them, many young people were interested in applying to join the expedition.

People who applied to join were given a document, which showed that they were a member of the expedition, and each of the documents contained who would never and how many people the document holder would bring alongside him.

Even though living in Xu Province under Lie Fan’s rule was full of prosperity and everyone was fed, the prospect of becoming richer and adventure made applying to the expedition a craze in each major town.

Lie Fan hearing this limited the people who applied to 30,000 people to become the first settlers, with 30,000 men under Ling Cao and Li Feng the total population of Taipei reached 60,000 men.

Gan Ning and Jiang Qin as the admirals of the navy have prepared the marines and the ships, the newly recruited ones after receiving basic training are thrust to begin their first voyage.

Under Lie Fan’s order, Gan Ning and Jiang Qin brought all of the marines under them alongside Ling Cao and Lie Feng with their 30,000 men to secure Taiwan first, as Lie Fan knew some Aboriginal people lived there.

Doctors were abundant now in Xu Province thanks to Lie Fan’s request to Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjin to train new doctors, many young people and even middle-aged people were interested in becoming one.

The Navy was provided with 15 doctors and an abundant supply of medicines, to counter diseases that they could encounter in Taiwan since Lie Fan read in his previous life that the first expedition there failed due to disease and unfriendly terrain.

Alchemists, Crafters, and builders also joined the navy expedition, to help them build fortifications and simple buildings for his army to live in, also put together early colony buildings such as houses and administrative buildings like a town hall.

Gan Ning and Jiang Qin prepared 3 Treasure Ship, 15 Fuchuan Warship, 15 Troops Transport Ship, 3 Water Tanker Ship, 5 Supply Ships, and 5 Horse Ships for the first expedition of Lie Fan’s Navy.

Everything was ready almost a week after the Court held, Lie Fan right now in Huai’An’s secret dockyard accompanied by his 4 main advisors and his bodyguards standing at the dock watching the numerous ships being boarded.

Supplies such as rations and holding materials were stored on the supply ships and horse ships, as many gunpowders and arrows were being stored in each ship as they were the ammo of Hwacha.

Gan Ning, Jiang Qin, Ling Cao, and Li Feng oversaw the boarding, everyone was serious in doing their task and didn’t allow a single mistake, as the success of this expedition rested on them which would dictate their future under Lie Fan.

Lie Fan: ”Xingba, how is it? Are you nervous about your first official task?”

Gan Ning: ”My Lord I’m not nervous but rather too excited! I have heard of this mysterious island but my base of operation at the time wasn’t in Yang Province so I don’t have the chance to investigate it.”

Jiang Qin: ”Humph that’s because you chose the easy target that was Liu Yan and Liu Biao’s navy on that side isn’t that great, unlike the one I faced under Cai Mao and Huang Zu!”

Gan Ning: ”So what? I was richer and more famous than you Haha! That shows that I am better than you, at least in terms of intelligence and strength as well as leadership!”

Jiang Qin: ”You?!”

Ling Cao: ”Okay you two stop squabbling, aren’t you ashamed to act so immature in the face of our Lord!”

Lie Fan: ”Haha let them be Ling Cao, I’m happy to see that my admirals have such a good relationship with each other.”

Gan Ning and Jiang Qin wanted to protest those words, but considering that it was Lie Fan who said it they didn’t dare to protest, so they could only swallow their words and let out an awkward laugh while glaring at each other.

The squabble between Gan Ning and Jiang Qin was just a minor event, after some time everything was ready and Lie Fan’s Navy was ready to head toward Taiwan to create a safe zone for the future settlement.

Gan Ning, Jiang Qin, Ling Cao, and Li Feng salute Lie Fan and promise to do their best in completing his task, they also say their goodbyes since the expedition will take some time.

So under Lie Fan’s watchful eyes alongside his advisors and bodyguards, Lie Fan’s navy finally set sail heading south toward Taiwan and this was also a test for Lie Fan’s ship endurance as this was their first long voyage.

Since Gan Ning and Jiang Qin were leaving for Taiwan, Xun You was put to stay at Huai’An’s secret dockyard to oversee it alongside Sima Lang who was Huai’An’s Prefect.

Lie Fan stayed at Huai’An for several days, talking with Sima Lang and seeing the progress of Huai’An under him, which improved several times than it was under Lie Shang, showing his talent in governance.

While talking with Sima Lang, Jia Xu enters the room and informs Lie Fan that Zhuge Xuan Zhuge Jin’s uncle has arrived at Xiapi, he also brought Zhuge Liang who was Zhuge Jin’s brother along with him.

Hearing that news, Lie Fan immediately decided to head back to Xiapi, since for him Zhuge Xuan is not important but Zhuge Liang is the important one since if he could have him then he would control the two greatest strategists in the three kingdoms.

On the way there, he also thought about Xu Shu and Pang Tong’s fate who was Zhuge Liang’s friend in the future, Pang Tong will definitely learn under Pang Degong and Sima Hui the two hermits who teach Zhuge Liang, Pang Tong, and Sima Hui.

He was afraid that because he took Zhuge Liang, he would never be known as the Sleeping Dragon alongside Pang Tong who would be known as the Fledgling Phoenix, and Sima Hui as the Water Mirror.

While it was nothing, a reputation is also important and can become a stepping stone not only for Zhuge Liang but the lord he chooses to serve, as a nickname was a form of recognition in the Scholar Gentry.

These were the things he thought bout on the way back to Xiapi, of course, he also wanted to have Zhuge Xuan, who could become a teacher of the future young talents that would serve him, he has the same reputation as Pang Degong, and Sima Hui.

His arrival back to Xiapi was welcomed by Sun Qian and Zhuge Jin who immediately escorted him toward a house, where Zhuge Xuan and Zhuge Liang stayed under Zhuge Xuan’s request.

Zhuge Jin knocked on the door, they waited for several minutes before the door was opened the own who opened it was a boy who was between 10 years old and 13 years old, he and Zhuge Jin looked alike.

The boy who opened the door and saw Zhige Jin welcomed him happily, Zhuge Jin smiled and caressed the boy’s head, and then he introduced the boy to Lie Fan as his Little Brother Zhuge Liang Zhuge Kongming.

Zhuge Linag while young was also like Sima Yi, maturing faster than children of his age, knowing that Lie Fan was Zhuge Jin’s Lord he greeted Lie Fan and all the people behind him respectfully.

Lie Fan’s eyes began to shine seeing the young Zhuge Liang, but he immediately changed to his friendly face smiling at Zhuge Liang, thanking him for opening the door and asking if he could meet with Zhuge Xuan.

Zhuge Liang tells everyone to come in, where everyone except Lie Fan’s bodyguard stays outside. After feeling Everyone to take a seat, Zhuge Liang informed them that Zhuge Xuan was taking a stroll outside so they had to wait.

Lie Fan gives his understanding and tells Zhuge Liang he can wait, then he feels Zhuge Liang that he also wants to meet him, as his brother Zhuge Jin has praised his talents who were better than Zhuge Jin’s talent.

Zhuge Liang was embarrassed by Lie Fan’s praises, he said that he was only better at learning than his brother but his brother was richer in experience and real-world knowledge, so they complemented each other.

Jia Xu, Chen Qun, and Liu Ye can see that even though Zhuge Liang was shy, the arrogant aura that talented people had been ingrained in his aura, just like Sima Yi who was older than him.

Zhuge Liang, Zhuge Jin, and Lie Fan were having a conversation together when Zhuge Xuan finally returned from his stroll, seeing so many people he was surprised at first but seeing Zhuge Jin he knew who his guest was.

Zhuge Xuan: ”Lord Lie Fan I finally have the chance to meet you, I’m Zhuge Xuan of Yangdu Uncle of Zhuge Jin and Zhuge Liang answering your summon.”

Lie Fan: ”Haha Master Zhuge Xuan I finally met you, Ziyu only had praises and compliments when he talked about you to me, thank you for answering my summon to Xiapi.”

Zhuge Xuan: ”It’s My Honor to receive a summon from the Youngest Lord in the land, and the Hero of the Empire during the battle against the Yellow Turbans, please Lord Lie Fan, and everyone have a seat.”

Lie Fan: ”Thank You, Master Zhuge Xuan, the reason that I summon you here to Xiapi is to invite you and Zhuge Liang to stay here in Xiapi, also I extend my invitation for Master Zhuge Xuan to become a teacher for an academy that will be built shortly.”

Zhuge Xuan stroked his beard, he was not stupid and knew the reason why Lie Fan summoned him, not only for his experience and talent but also for Zhuge Liang’s talent that will definitely shine in the future.

He has planned to go to Jing Province to meet Pang Degong and Sima Hui his old friends, to have them teach Zhuge Liang there and stay with them, as he can feel that his body is slowly deteriorating due to old age.

Lie Fan’s summon broke that plan, he knew that a summon from Lie Fan was different from Yuan Shu’s summon to him before, Lie Fan’s influence and power were much larger than Peak Yuan Shu and he didn’t want to offend a major player like Lie Fan.

On the way to Xiapi, he thought hard and long about all of the scenarios that could happen, such as the one that is happening right now.

He feels that if he accepted the invitation, it could boost his career and influence but he is afraid to destroy Zhuge Liang’s bright future, not that serving Lie Fan is bad for him but he is afraid that Zhuge Liang can’t have the place to shine, since Lie Fan has many top advisors under him that were talented in any ways.
