Jia Xu feels that Lie Fan should accept them as Sun Jian himself, as Sun Jian’s envoy should be a high-level advisor or general or even part of the Sun Clan, and also because Lie Fan has a very good relationship with Sun Jian with only below Cao Cao in term of closeness.

Also, Sun Jian is unlike Cao Cao who is cunning, he is honorable and more hothead than Cao Cao, allying with the Sun Clan is their next phase after dealing with Lu Bu, but the early alliance is not a problem.

Yang Province is a deep water now, Liu Yao lost Yzhang to Sun Jian, and he still can’t subjugate Shang Xian, and there’s word that another rebellion is right around the corner in his land from the Oriole.

Lie Fan and Jia Xu sent some support to these rebellion cells through the Oriole, which was led by a bandit leader named Yan Baihu, who will be defeated by Sun Ce in the original timeline to unite Jiangdong.

They feel that their neighbors should have some problems, while they recuperate and even improve their strength.

Since the Sun Clan sent an envoy and Oriole from Yang Province was the one informing them, that means these envoys have just left Yuzhang and will not arrive at Xiapi for some time.

Yuzhang is pretty far from Xiapi, maybe around 1 to 2 months before the Sun Clan envoy arrives, which allows them some time to prepare. Chen Qun has been sent to prepare the accommodation, so Lie Fan sent Liu Ye to inform Mi Zhu to prepare some expensive gifts, preferably some military things.

Liu Ye cupped his hand and took his leave, leaving Lie Fan alongside Jia Xu and Xun You. Seeing the two leave, Lie Fan then asks Jia Xu and Xun You for the report on Xu Province and some suggestions to as who will oversee their newly conquered land.

Jia Xu and Xun You both suggest that since Yuan Shu is no more, the Baihu army under Dian Wei and Chen Deng to be positioned in Shouchun, to hold off Cao Cao’s army with support from Yang Dajiang as the newly appointed Governor of Shouchun.

Lujiang area is still under the contour of Lu Kang, Lie Fan promoted him to the Grand Administrator of Lujiang Commandery, then promote Wang Lang to the Governor of Lujiang under Jia Xu’s suggestion.

This is to strip some of the power under Lu Kang, but also inform him that he is being valued as he was promoted, Lu Kang has controlled Lujiang since the rebellion started so he is the local snake there and his influence is massive.

Lie Fan also put Lu Kang’s son as the Commander of the Lujiang Army numbering 25,000 men, which he had informed Lu Kang’s son Lu Jun when they were in Shouchun, which can also be regarded as some sort of compensation for Lu Kang.

Wang Lang is alone in Lujiang without any friends, so Xun You suggest sending Yang Hong there as well to help Wang Lang, becoming Wang Lan’s advisor there. Even though this position is lower than his previous position, it can be regarded as a new starting point for Yang Hong.

If he can show some satisfying result and his loyalty is unquestionable, Lie Fan can consider for him to be provided to become a town governor or even Grand Administrator.

Next, the new generals that joined under him like Li Feng, Lei Bo, Chen Lan, and Qiao Rui Xun You suggest that they be assigned to different armies, to reduce the chances of them colluding together.

Li Feng is the strongest, so Lie Fan puts him in Taishi Ci’s army, Lei Bo in Zhang Chao’s army, Chen Lan in Huang Zhong’s army, and Qiao Rui in Dian Wei’s army.

Lie Fan: ”Jia Xu, how is Ji Ling? Has he decided to surrounder yet? Tell him that his family is under our protection and lives well, to know of our goodwill.”

Jia Xu: ”Ji Ling has a stubborn and righteous temper, My Lord, once he recognizes his Lord he will not change, he knows that Yuan Shu and Yuan Yao are dead, and he wants to avenge them.

Xun You: ”I think the chances of him surrendering to My Lord is very small, maybe we can either behind him or let him rot in jail forever to not allow others to have him.”

Lie Fan: ”No, we need to find another way, Ji Ling is a great talent to have, all lords including me are happy to have such a loyal general to serve us.”

Jia Xu: ”Then I don’t know if My Lord has some way. Seeing as My Lord values him so highly, torture and blackmail are out of the question.”

Lie Fan stays silent, this is a big problem to handle as an idealist person like Ji Ling is hard to coerce, Lie Fan sighs and tells them to let this matter rest for a while, as he doesn’t have any way to let Ji Ling agree.

He told Jia Xu to research some new ways, maybe through Ji Ling’s family or maybe allow him to protect Yuan Shu’s family who are still alive, which were his daughters and wives.

Jia Xu heard the last line and felt that could be a feasible plan, He and Xun You cupped their hand receiving Lie Fan’s words.

Lie Fan after this returned to his residence, where he spends some time with his family. He has gone out to battle Yuan Shu and since coming back, he dedicated almost all of his time to his family.

Ying Yue, Diao Chan, and Cai Wenji were ecstatic that Lie Fan finally returned back to them safely without any injuries, Chenchen and Yaoyao the two little cuties also let out some happy sounds seeing Lie Fan again.

Wannian and Sima Yi greeted Lie Fan together, the two had just come back from going outside together when they heard the news that Lie Fan had returned to Xiapi, with absolute victory over Yuan Shu.

Diao Chan and Cai Wenji both take turns sleeping with Lie Fan every night since his return, trying to get pregnant as they are envious of Ying Yue for having two cute bundles of joy.

Lie Fan after defeating Yuan Shu and returning to Xiapi, received a reward from Sun Tzu or the system after not hearing from him since preceding the Quest concerning Lu Bu.

Lie Fan receives 200,000 SP, 650,000 EXP, 2 Emperor Lion Jade Statues, Heavenly Emperor Throne Blueprint, and The Sword Of Xia Dynasty First Emperor for defeating Yuan Shu the Despot of Zhong Dynasty.

All of the rewards he received except for the SP and EXP, were just decorations and didn’t have any value of power or strength, but it was things that he could put or make when he declared himself Emperor.

1 month and a half passed by, Sun Clan emissary finally arrived in Xiapi. Lie Fan himself welcomed the emissary, alongside Jia Xu, Xun You, Chen Gun, Liu Ye, and Chen Gui.

The Sun Clan emissary consists of 500 men with 3 generals leading and 1 advisor. The generals were Cheng Pu, the young Sun Ce, and Zhou Yu who was not an advisor at this time, but a general due to Sun Jian survived his ambush from Liu Biao.

The advisor was Huan Jie, a loyal retainer to Sun Jian but in the original history defected to Cao Cao after Sun Jian’s death, and he led the exchange of Huang Zu who was a hostage with Sun Jian’s body.

Lie Fan’s grand welcome mattered to both Cheng Pu and Sun Ce, but Zhou Yu and Huan Jie perceived this differently. Lie Fan’s grand welcome can only mean two things, he either values his relationship with Sun Jian or he has the same interest as them in allying the Sun Clan and Lie Clan.

Lie Fan received them and personally led them to the main hall of the Governor’s Castle, where he had ordered the kitchen to serve lavish food and wine to welcome the Sun Clan emissary.

Lie Fan told them to be seated, Lie Fan was surprised that the emissary team was a grand one. Maybe every one of his advisors thinks this is a normal one, but if they knew the identity of Sun Ce and Zhou Yu in the original history they would be surprised.

Lie Fan: ”Welcome, General Cheng Pu, and Master Huan Jie we meet again, as for these two young men what’s your name?”

Zhou Yu: ”Greetings Lord Governor Lie Fan, I’m Zhou Yu Zhou Gongjin, I’m a general and advisor under Young Lord Sun Ce, I have long heard about your name and admire all of your accomplishments.”

Sun Ce: ”Lord Lie Fan I’m Sun Ce Sun Bofu, the eldest son of My Father the Tiger Of Jiangdong Sun Jian and Prefect Of Changsha. I would like to thank you for warning my father on his return back to Changsha.”

Lie Fan: ”So it’s Young Master Sun Ce and General Zhou Yu, I have heard the name of the two of you the youngest general serving under Brother Wentai. For the matter of warning Brither Wentai, it’s nothing worth mentioning as I must warn my friend.”

Huan Jie: ”Even so, if it’s not for your warning Lord Lie Fan, we maybe will lose Our Lord to the ambush made by Liu Biao. We will remember this favor and will repay it in the future.”

Lie Fan: ”Haha alright I hold onto that, okay let us not talk about these heavy things. I have prepared a large feats to welcome you all, come and enjoy the finest cuisine Xiapi has to offer!”

Cheng Pu and Sun Ce immediately eat the food in front of them, they have a straightforward temper and feel that Lie Fan doesn’t hold any malice toward them, but welcomes them openly so they eat without worry.

Zhou Yu and Huan Jie even though also feel the same, it’s their nature to be cautious so seeing Sun Ce and Cheng Pu act like that they can only shake their head in defeat.

The banquet was lavish, Lie Fan also hired a music troupe to liven up the atmosphere. Sun Ce and Cheng Pu propose a toast to Lie Fan, saying that they drink this as an early thank-you for Lie Fan saving Sun Jian’s life.

Jia Xu and Xun You only eat tiny bits of pieces, the both of them sit seat with the other beside them, and the two keep looking at the Sun Clan emissary group and conclude that they came here in peace and to not probe, seeing the cautious Zhou Yu and Huan Jie the two of them feel its normal for them to be cautious.
