Many people who utilize their contact to be in touch with Lie Fan doesn’t surprise him, what surprised him was that Lu Kang contacted him and asked if he could reserve a spot for his grandnephew Lu Xun, son of Lu Jun and grandson of Lu Yu who was influential officials in Han Dynasty, Lie Fan almost forgot about Lu Xun who was also a heavyweight in his own right.

He forgot that Lu Kang was the Granduncle of Lu Xun, the General Chief of Wu, and one of the Four Governors of Wu alongside Zhou Yu, Lu Su, and Lu Meng, the man who defeated Zhuge Liang at the battle of Yiling where Liu Bei wanted to avenge Guan Yu and Zhang Fei’s death.

His Military Mind was said to rival both Zhou Yu and Lu Meng and even surpassed them, Lu Xun rose to fame and power at Wu is I need middle stage of the Three Kingdom era, due to the Lu Clan and Sun Clan having an enmity with each other because of Lu Kang’s death.

In the original history, Lu Kang was the leader of his win force at Lujiang after condemning Yuan Shu who declared himself Emperor, angering Yuan Shu who then sent Sun Ce to subjugate Lujiang, killing Lu Kang in the process creating a lifetime enmity between the two clan.

Now at this time because of Lie Fan’s butterfly effect, The Lu Clan and Sun Clan don’t have enmity between them, they don’t even have contact with each other so Lie Fan completely forgot about Lu Xun.

Lu Kang’s request was accepted by Lie Fan with high enthusiasm, he already thought of how his force would dominate the land having Sima Yi, Zhuge Liang, and Lu Xun under his banner which was a terrifying force.

These three people alone can support Lie Fan’s force’s domestic and war engines, combined with people like Jia Xu, Xun You, Chen Qun, Liu Ye, and many more which Lie Fan’s force can be said full of talented advisors.

While in Xiapi everything is going as planned for Lie Fan, Cao Cao is recuperating his strength and integrating his newly conquered land In Yu Province, Liu Bei and Lu Bu are fitting subtly for control over Qing Province, at the north a bad situation befallen Gongsun Zan.

Gongzun Zan and Yuan Shao have been fighting in the north for several years, and the battle between these two will decide who will receive hegemony in the North, controlling it under their hand.

Gongsun Zan at first has the upper hand, managing to push toward Ji Province deeply when Yuan Shao receives Ji Province from Han Fu, but then Yuan Shao manages to turn the situation around.

Yuan Shao sent his best generals Yan Liang and Wen Chou alongside Guo Tu and Tian Feng who managed to stabilize the frontline, then pushed back Gongsun Zan from Ji Province and created a stalemate situation.

So it becomes a battle of attrition, Gongsun Zan and Yuan Shao both have large territories but the difference is that Yuan Shao has more fertile lands and his domains are more populous than Gongsun Zan’s.

In the first and second years it was not that bad, but entering the third year Gongsun Zan began to notice that Yuan Shao seemed to have infinite men and supply, while he had to begin rationing his men.

Right now at Gongsun Zan’s Capital Ji in You Province, he is having a meeting with his generals and advisors to discuss how to handle the battle of attrition that depleted his supply and manpower slowly.

Gongsun Zan: ”Everyone, please let me your kind and help me love our situation right now, what should we do to handle the problems of supply and manpower we have right now.”

Gongsun Fan: ”Cousin I think we should slaughter the herds we receive from the Wuhan and Xianbei tribes, I know that it’s a valuable resource here in the Palin’s but it’s better to lose it than lose to Yuan Shao.”

Gongsun Yue: ”Cousin I agree with what Brother Fan just said, the herds are numerous and can settle some of our supplies problem.”

Jian Yong: ”I think what both General Fan and Yue said is feasible My Lord, our troops on the front line were in urgent need of supply and this meats could help increase their morale.”

Shan Jing: ”My Lord while I agree with what everyone just said, I think it’s better if we eliminate Liu Yu and retrieve Beiping from him, he holds a large amount of supplies and a big horse farm in there.”

Tian Kai: ”No if we do that, we will declare war on the entire Han Dynasty, Liu Yu is still part of the Imperial Clan and if something happens to him it would only support Yuan Shao to destroy us.”

Gongsun Zan stayed silent for a while, he was reluctant to slaughter such big herds of animals that were given to him as a tribute by the Wuhuan and Xianbei tribes, conquering Liu Yu’s lands on the other hand he agrees with that.

Liu Yu has been a thorn in his side, after taking all of his lands except for his Capital and its commandery. He wanted to eliminate Liu Yu at the time, but Liu Yu was still part of the Imperial Clan so that’s why he held back.

Now he was in urgent need of supplies and he knew that Liu Yu hoarded many supplies in his capital, which can be said to be hitting two birds with one stone so after some careful thought he agreed with Shan Jing’s plan to take Beiping from Liu Yu.

Gongsun Zan’s decision at first received some protest from his generals since they thought trust could only backlash at them badly since no matter how weak the Imperial Clan was, it still held large amounts of influence.

Gongsun Zan vetoed their protest, saying that this was the only way and butchering the herds was just a short-term situation, capturing Beiping is a longer-term situation than butchering the herds for meat.

Since their protest was vetoed, Gongsun Zna generals could only follow his order and do what they could to achieve it, everyone left the hall except for a young general adorned with an armor of white lines.

Gongsun Zan seeing the young generals was satisfied with him, he was Zhao Yun Zhao Zilong the best general he had under him, his bravery and prowess were unmatched also had a brilliant mind in leadership.

Proficient in leading cavalry units and a master of the spear after learning from Tong Yuan, the Spear Master of this era, He cherished Zhao Yun after remembering this name from his conversation with Lie Fan.

Gongsun Zan: ”Zilong what’s the matter? Is there something you want to say to me?”

Zhao Yun: ”My Lord, I think that attacking Liu Yu is too reckless, we have to split your force into two fronts defending against Yuan Shao and attacking Liu Yu where our army is not ready to handle that.”

Gongsun Zan: ”Zilong I understand what you said, but this is an emergency situation, and if we just think for too long we will lose the momentum and it will shift against us.”

Zhao Yun: ”But My Lord if we just butcher-”

Gongsun Zan: ”That’s enough Zilong! Since you don’t want to be involved in fighting against Liu Yu, you will lead the White Horse Cavalry against Yuan Shao, and after we win this war, you can visit Lie Fan to discuss the Master you shared.”

Zhao Yun: ”Yee My Lord I understand, and thank you for giving me the chance to meet Lord Lie Fan.”

Zhao Yin leaves the hall, still thinking about why Gongsun Zan’s plan was too reckless as anything could happen on the battlefield if something ever happened to Liu Yu it could sour Gongsun Zan’s reputation and maybe become the next Yuan Shu.

The day after the meeting, Gongsun Zna split his early to attack Liu Yu taking him by surprise, after 2 weeks of bloody battle Liu Yu was only left with Beiping, who was surrounded by Gongsun Zan’s army.

Gongsun Zan doesn’t personally lead the battle against Liu Yu, he commands the defense against Yuan Shao and leaves this to his cousin Gongsun Yue to command, since Liu Yu’s army is too weak.

Gongsun Yue spent almost a day persuading Liu Yu to surrender by shouting toward Beiping, where Liu Yu was standing at the Wall overlooking him from above, and each time refused his persuasion.

Knowing that time was of the essence, Gongsun Yue finally decided to attack Beiping and take it under Gongsun Zan’s rule, so the Battle Of Beiping began which will be a turning point for Gongsun Zan.

Liu Yu even though old still led the command of his army to defend Beiping, showing the only prestigious member of the Imperial Clan unlike his Imperial Kins Liu Yao, Liu Biao, and Liu Yan who hid in their domain.

The battle was ensuing fiercely, on the 3rd day of the battle suddenly something unexpected happened, which was Liu Yu who was commanding the defense was shit by an arrow taking everyone by surprise.

Liu Yu looked at the arrow on his chest, which was soon followed by a second arrow causing him to cough blood, and after looking at the sky, he knew that his time had come and the Han Dynasty had fallen.

Liu Yu’s death was a shocker even for Gongsun Yue who could only block the news from going out from Beiping, after the death of Liu Yu Gongsun Yue managed to take control of Beiping.

He imprisoned Liu Yu’s women’s family members and executed the man, to delay the news from going out of Beiping but what he doesn’t know is this only quickens the news to spread from Beiping.

The time when Gongsun Zan knew of what Gongsun Yue had just done was 1 week after the battle at Beiping, he was defending Julu Commandery from Yuan Shao and this was a heavy blow for him.

Gongsun Zan was outraged by what Gongsun Yue had done, this action tarnished his reputation because everyone thought that it was under his order and that he was a traitor to the already decaying Han Dynasty.

Gongsun Zan’s prediction comes true, several days after he receives the news, Yuan Shao announces that he will avenge the death of Liu Yu who was an Imperial Scion, and an important member of the Imperial Clan of the Han Dynasty.

This announcement brings Zhang Yan and Zhang Yang who were standing on the sidelines, to support Yuan putting pressure on his western front and shrinking His army, he regretted the decision he had made and regretted not listening to Zhao Yu who tried to change his mind at the last moment knew in gtaht this could happen.
