Yan Jun when hearing this barred them from going to the forest, it was under Lie Fan’s order to not let them experiment with anything or go inside unknown areas themselves, as they were the ones who cured or found a cure for some type of illness or disease that the soldiers could caught in this new environment.

The doctors and alchemists at the first protest that they were barred from going out, but hearing that it was under Lie Fan’s order they quiet down and continue to do the task that was assigned to them.

The construction of the momentary base was going faster than predicted, Yang Hong and Yan Jun felt that Ling Cao and Li Feng could lead their army to explore the Island, around 30 kilometers from the base.

This is to allow them to create a larger safe zone, which allows them to take much more resources like stone and wood but also great some watch towers in the area, with a group of soldiers guarding it.

This allowed them to know the dangers that were approaching their base if the number of tribesmen of the Tono tribe or clan they just faced if their number was many or if there were more clans, not just the Tono.

Ling Cao and Li Feng followed Yang Hong and Yan Jun to bring their men alongside some laborers and crafters, they brought 20,000 men with half being led by Ling Cao and the other half led by Li Feng, leaning 10,000 men to guard their base.

They set the next day after taking a rest, carrying some supplies and medicines along with them in case there was a disease or illness they never knew about, Ling Cao and Li Feng were excited but also feeling cautious.

The base feels a bit empty with 20,000 men leaving, Gan Ning and Jiang Qin lead the defences replacing Ling Cao and Li Feng, and Yan Jun leads the rest of the laborers and crafter to make a harbor for the ships to have a safe place to anchor.

The Expedition can be said to be going smoothly, with only the Tono tribe or clan being a small stumbling block that only arouses their alertness and defenses since they are facing foreign people with a form of weapons or defenses they don’t know.

On the mainland, something surprising happened on the central plains, Cao Cao who recuperated in his domain after battling Yuan Shu and Lu Bu for some time, suddenly raised his sword to Kong Zhou.

Cao Cao’s army which was at first stationed in Wan suddenly found near Kong Zhou’s border with Cao Cao, and Cao Cao declared war on Kong Zhou using the Imperial Decree branding him a traitor for supporting Yuan Shu’s declaration as Emperor.

Lie Fan and his advisors was the only one who knew about this information beforehand, Cao Cao taking Kong Zhou’s lands didn’t have much impact on his overall strength, so they allowed this to happen.

Cao Cao’s army on the first day after declaring war managed to take a quarter of Kong Zhou’s domain, Kong Zhou’s army was outnumbered and less skilled than Cao Cao’s army causing this to happen alongside the surprise attack making Kong Zhou responded too late.

Cao Cao: ”Fengxiao and Zhicai’s plan works wonderfully, taking Kong Zhou’s land using the Imperial Decree makes other forces not dare to denounce us openly.”

Guo Jia: ”The Emperors are still useful at this time My Lord, even though Kong Zhou’s land doesn’t improve the strength of My Lord’s forces it can keep our rear safe from attack.”

Xi Zhicai: ”This also can happen smoothly because Lie Fan doesn’t send his army or release an announcement, He allows us to take Long Zhou’s land and since he doesn’t move other forces don’t move.”

Cao Cao: ”Hmm that’s true, but maybe because he is focusing on the South now, he is truly an opportunity seeing how chaotic Yang Province is now he decided to take a slice in there.”

Xun Yu: ”Lord Lie Fan is a master at reading a situation, combined with the advisors beside him all of his movement has a meaning even silence has a meaning.”

Cheng Yu: ”I agree with Master Xun Yu, Everything he does has a very big impact on the landscape, politically or militarily.”

Cao Cao: ”Haha he is truly my opponent in this large battle of chess, I can’t wait to face him head-on in the future to divide who is the best among the 2 of us.”

Cao Cao’s fast-paced attack and conquer caused Kong Zhou to hold an emergency council with his retainers, to discuss how they hold off Cao Cao’s aggressive attack which penetrated his outer defenses.

Some of his advisors suggested searching for allies to face Cao Cao, even though they would be the weaker party and they would be demanded many things but this is the only way for them to survive.

Lie Fan is off the list of this alliance, Kong Zhou has offended Lie Fan before by refusing his offer of submitting to him inappropriately even accusing Lie Fan that he was the reason Kong Rong was dead.

The refusal is not the problem, Lie Fan’s reputation in diplomacy is one of the best among the Walords, but Kong Zhou’s accusation destroyed any goodwill left between them after the refusal.

Some of Kong Zhou’s generals suggested Liu Biao, which was a good choice against Cao Cao so everyone agreed including Kong Zhou, so they sent an envoy to Liu Biao to help them fend off Cao Cao.

The Envoy rides without stopping, only resting if his horse or himself can’t hold on to Liu Biao’s capital in Xiangyang, Kong Zhou on the other hand organizes his Army to defend his domain as long as he can.

The Enviy spent several days before reaching Xiangyang, he met with Liu Biao himself alongside his advisors Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang alongside his Generals Cai Mao and Zhang Yun.

Envoy: ”Lord Liu Biao thank you for allowing me to meet you, I’m an envoy under Lord Kong Zhou’s order seeking an alliance with Lord Liu Biao against Cao Cao.”

Liu Biao: ”Okay you can have a rest first, I will discuss this matter with my council first.”

Envoy: ”But Lord Liu Biao! My Lord needs an answer and support right now, he can’t hold Cao Cao’s army any longer!”

Cai Mao: ”Just follow My Lord’s order and take a rest, My Lord will give you an answer in due time you need to wait! Guards, escort him to his quarters.”

Envoy: ”Lord Liu Biao please accept my lord’s request! He said that he is your friend, he needs help!”

The Envoy was escorted out by the guards, the main hall turned quiet after the envoy left the room. Liu Biai turned his head toward Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang, asking them what should he do, and whether should he accept Kong Zhou’s request for alliance or not.

Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang both agree that Liu Biao should accept the alliance, at least just to pressure Cao Cao from Xinye and send Kong Zhou some supplies, as the battle will be won by Cao Cao whether they joined or not.

Rather than wasting men supporting Kong Zhou, Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang felt it was better to lose some supplies, so they would not offend Cao Cao and also hold the reputation of Liu Biao as a benevolent ruler.

Liu Biao was satisfied with this reason, Cai Mao on the other hand not so much and argued that they shouldn’t agree with Kong Zhou’s request as they would not gain anything, and Liu Biao refused the request would not have any impact on his reputation.

Cai Mao also argued that they shouldn’t offend Cao Cao anymore after taking Xinye from him, as that would only aggravate Cao Cao by sending supplies and supporting Long Zhou by agreeing to the alliance.

Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang both don’t agree with his statement, Cao Cao was a calculating man and he knew that if he attacked us, then he would open himself to Lie Fan and Li Jue-Guo Si.

Cai Mao continued to argue with Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang until Liu Biao finally couldn’t stand it any longer and told all of them to be quiet, he then said that he felt what Cai Mao said was not wrong and that supporting Kong Zhou could offend Cao Cao.

So he did not agree with Kong Zhou’s request for alliance and told that the envy was to be sent back to Kong Zhou after giving him rest and some food and water today.

Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang both requested Liu Biao to rethink his decision, Liu Biao waved his hand and told them that this was his final decision, now he wanted to spend some time with his wife so he dismissed them all.

Leaving the main hall, Cai Mao sneered at Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang passing by them leaving the main hall, heading toward his residence, Zhang Yun decided to stay with Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang.

Kuai Yue: ”Look at that bastard, he dared to sneer at us?! He could climb so high because his sister married Lord Liu Biao, he just doesn’t want to go toward so that’s why he suggested that!”

Kuai Liang: ”Calm down little brother, right now the influence of the Cai Clan is number one in Jing Province and our Kuai family is below them, so it’s not time for us to face them head-on.”

Zhang Yun: ”That’s right Master Kuai Yue, what Master Kuai Liang just said is correct, we just have to lay low and that bastard someday will stumble and that’s our chance to take the Cai Caln head on.”

Kuai Yue: ”I’m just afraid that Our Lord will lose his domain to Cao Cao or Lie Fan first thanks to Cai Mao’s stupid advice, huh Our Lord values him so much because he is the little brother of his new wife.”

Kuai Yue lamented the future of Liu Bia’s force, having Cai Mao controlling the navy and many enterprises in Jing Province using Liu Biao’s name would borough a disaster for Liu Biao sooner or later

Kuai Liang nodded his head listening to what Kuai Yue said and he looked up to the sky when suddenly an absurd plan came to his mind, something he never thought he would think of, he told what he thought to Kuai Yue and Zhang Yun which surprised them.

Kuai Yue and Zhang Yun at first think that it is not a good idea, but after Kuai Liang says that it would become their emergency plan to save themselves from doom and end their lives, they feel that Kuai Liang’s idea makes sense but feel that they should think about it more and decide later.
