Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

With the appearance of the biomass and fungal mat, more and more of the Insect Race have been abandoning the conflict with the Mechanical Race, exerting their utmost to approach the Star Gate, even if what approaches isn’t a complete starship but merely the shattered flesh fragments of a starship; it doesn’t matter.

As long as it gets close, the items on the Star Gate will be able to absorb it, transform it into its own nutrients, further accelerating the efficiency of its expansion.

Of course, the Mechanical Race isn’t going to sit back and ignore it, allowing the Insect Race to further influence the Star Gate.

All the mother ships equipped with Mechanical Race units immediately released almost all of their Mechanical Race entities, approaching the Star Gate.

Due to the complete destruction of the Mechanical Race’s mid and lower-level ships, the space surrounding the mother ship is almost entirely filled by Insect Race warships, resulting in numerous Mechanical Race units being destroyed midway by the Insect Race warships.

However, some Mechanical Race units have successfully landed on the Star Gate’s foundation, starting to clean up the biomass and fungal mat above it.

The biomass did not retaliate, only expanding with even more exaggerated efficiency.

The absorption of those Insect Race fragments by the biomass was just Chen Ming’s display, the real nutrition supply for this biomass comes from Chen Ming and the Insect Queen, continuously transporting energy crystals using spiritual energy.

In a blink of an eye, the speed of biomass proliferation has even surpassed the speed of the Mechanical Race’s cleanup.

And the Destruction Carrier has only just departed from superspace.

Having not yet reached within star system range, it cannot exert influence on the biomass within a playable distance.

The biomass hasn’t damaged the Star Gate itself, nor has it made any aggressive moves against the Mechanical Race.

It just keeps proliferating and expanding, constructing an annular biomass structure resembling the Star Gate at one corner of the Star Gate.

Immediately after, Chen Ming’s spiritual energy fluctuations mimicked the crimson power, creating a crimson light film within the annular structure of biomass. With his grasp of some crimson power, he’s able to do this.

This accumulation of flesh appears to be a new miniature version of the Star Gate, presenting itself fully to the Mechanical Race.

In the next moment.

Chen Ming, clad in biological armor, steps out from the crimson.

This time, unlike before, it is truly him who has come.

Using the slight gravitational influence inherent to the singularity of the Star Gate, he stands on the Star Gate’s frame.

The metal liquid curtain blocks all Mechanical Race units and their attacks outside.

However, a mother ship is already turning its bow around, seemingly intending not to remain stationed and to destroy Chen Ming along with the Star Gate.

Chen Ming has to respect the main-level weaponry.

But he isn’t in a hurry to move, instead taking advantage of the time while the Mechanical Race mother ship is turning to gaze at a more distant place.

Although the Destruction Carrier in phase space cannot be seen with the naked eye, he knows it is desperately approaching the Star Gate from the edge of the star system.

Once it enters within sufficient range, destruction will directly act on him.

This time, Chen Ming also won’t give the Destruction carrier such an opportunity.

But he wants to give the illusion that the Destruction carrier has a chance.

He lightly touches the frame of the Star Gate beside him.

Continuing to silently watch as the Mechanical Race in the star system keeps bombing his location crazily, only to be completely blocked by the metal curtain.

He can actually disappear with the Star Gate from the star system before the Destruction carrier approaches.

Even if the teleportation engine is disturbed by the frenzied teleportation traces throughout the star system, it doesn’t affect Chen Ming’s ability to use the crimson dimension to send the Star Gate thousands of light years away.

And after the Destruction carrier approaches, it might directly destroy the Star Gate, something destroyed by the Destruction carrier cannot be recovered at all.

This could be the most troublesome situation Chen Ming may encounter while attacking the Star Gate star system, so his initial setup was targeted at eliminating such a possibility.

The effect has already been achieved.

Continuing to delay seems to have no benefit.

But he wants to wait a bit longer because it’s not only an opportunity for the Mechanical Race but also for him.

In phase space of the Star Gate star system, the Destruction carrier has come almost alone.

It is only accompanied by about thirty specially transformed cruisers for replacing the radiant energy coils, almost without any effective defense force.

It doesn’t have a real escort fleet.

The mother ship carrying the Destruction carrier is also significantly transformed.

It has an extremely large radiant energy capacity with nearly zero radiant energy dissipation.

This means its sustained combat capability is quite poor.

After engaging with one of Chen Ming’s fleets earlier, it immediately teleported back near the star system of the Star Gate, and rushed back through superspace, the whole process leaving almost no time for the Destruction Carrier mother ship to rest.

This is an opportunity.

And Chen Ming has already prepared his measures.

At the very beginning of this second surprise attack, he created an insect race fleet numbering over four million on the Black Mist Prosthetic side, and also over four million in the logistics area.

And this isn’t the limit of his insect race’s combat strength.

He has many reserve forces of the insect race.

Moreover, after arranging the Phase Giant Beasts in the Legion Ship Research Institute earlier, Chen Ming borrowed the same device from the Fan Chao Research Institute that was lent to the Ship Research Institute.
