Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

But the result... that’s it?

Chen Ming feels like he’s playing a game of wits with the air.

Previously, he felt some pressure in his chest, as he truly did not know the strength, number, and location of the reinforcements.

But since the Mechanical Race’s reinforcements have now appeared, there’s nothing left to say.

However, he still has questions in his mind.

Is it really that simple?

The multitude of traps previously laid by the Mechanical Race for him were nearly unavoidable unless he had special abilities.

Some were explicitly targeting his abilities, but his hidden abilities were more than the Mechanical Race had discovered, which is why they hadn’t achieved their goals.

And now the backup measures arranged by the Mechanical Race seem lacking in the previous feeling, making him wonder if this could also be a trap to let his guard down?

It’s hard to say.

Chen Ming’s gaze swept across the Mechanical Race’s external reinforcement fleet.

He could not even be sure if this seemingly formidable fleet was the entirety of the Mechanical Race’s external reinforcements.

What if there’s more reinforcements, and the ones present now are just bait? Then he might still face problematic challenges.

Chen Ming always believes that fighting against relics of the Shimmering Civilization like the Mechanical Race requires extreme caution until the very last Mechanical Race entity is either killed or controlled.

In short, it is about respecting tactics while despising strategy.

His regard for the Mechanical Race strategically in tactics is evident.

Those millions of Cruisers wouldn’t be easily fielded by the Empire.

Pushing them out is possible but not achievable effortlessly within a week.

At a minimum, it would require changing production lines and leveraging national strength for production.

But the Empire doesn’t need to do that anyway.

Because the Empire can produce Main Ships.

The ability to produce millions of Cruisers means they can also produce thousands or tens of thousands of Main Ships.

And Chen Ming has personally experienced several times the suppressive power of Main Ships over subordinate vessels.

The massive losses clearly reveal the true power of Mother Ships.

Were it not for the Mechanical Race Star Realm’s size constraints and the Insect Race being absurdly enhanced by Chen Ming, a Main Ship would be invincible unless faced with a same-level opponent.

Therefore, Chen Ming refuses to be arrogant.

Even though millions of Cruisers seem incredibly powerful and even the Empire could hardly deploy them easily.

He still holds absolute reverence for true power, the Main Ship.

Cruisers are ultimately just subordinate vessels; he must possess Main Ships.

Chen Ming’s gaze fixed on the newly appeared Mechanical Race reinforcement fleet, focusing on the eight Mother Ships surrounding the Star Gate.

But immediately, his gaze shifted towards the still open Star Gate beside it.

And at those Insect Race advancing toward the Star Gate, with countless comrades’ corpses shattered with each step forward.

After all, compared to a Main Ship, the Star Gate remains the more crucial feature.

Moreover, as long as Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy exists and a touch of flesh covers the Mechanical Race’s Main Ship, these Main Ships will eventually become his.

Hence, he did not hesitate; he knows what it is that he truly needs.

The Insect Race continues to fight.

They persistently advance toward the Star Gate, gradually closing in on the Star Gate’s mirror.

And the Mechanical Race’s reinforcements still continually emerge from the mirror.

Even if these reinforcements might be destroyed the moment they leave the Star Gate, even if broken wreckage is instantly sent back through the Star Gate, the Mechanical Race still clashes with the Insect Race.

Just give Chen Ming three minutes, give the Insect Race three minutes, and they can withstand the attacks of eight Mother Ships, bear the counterattacks of reinforcements continuously appearing from the Star Gate, and make contact with the Star Gate, entering within.

Nevertheless, the Mechanical Race ultimately possesses clear calculations; they are a ”species.”

At the moment the Insect Race is about to contact the Star Gate, even though there are still numerous ships navigating within the Star Gate’s mirror, even though many vessels emerge halfway.

The Mechanical Race forcefully shut down the Star Gate.

By using the Star Gate to destroy their own ships, they also curtailed Chen Ming’s greedy ambition to proceed directly to the other side of the Star Gate.

Meanwhile, fluctuations from the activation of Superspace Navigation Engines suddenly appeared at the edge of the Star System.

An unseen battleship entered the Star System.

That is Destruction.
