Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

This is equipment typically found only in industrial colonies located on habitable planets with industrial facilities.

It can effectively alleviate environmental pressure.

If it operates properly, it means that the entire power supply tower has truly been put into operation.

The maintenance of the entire colony is thoroughly completed with the good operation of the power supply tower.

Chen Ming’s spiritual power still retains a sufficient surplus.

The spiritual power consumed by maintenance is ultimately minimal; the major consumption is always in the expansion after maintenance.

Expansion is much more troublesome than maintenance.

The troublesome part lies mainly in the design.

As with the previous simulations, Chen Ming needs specialized and unique designs to ensure that everything in the newly expanded colony, from buildings to equipment, is transformed from the original foundation.

And cannot place too many independent buildings, otherwise, with such a vast area, the consumption of his spiritual power might not keep up.

Previously, Chen Ming had assistance from Hong Guanghong.

This time, he needs to complete such designs by himself.

At the same time, he needs to ensure these designs align with his interests and can be immediately put into production.

Otherwise, when the colony incurs losses later, he will be responsible for maintaining the expenses of these two colonies.

Even with government subsidies, if the investments can’t be quickly converted into returns, it will still be troublesome.

If he can’t make the colony profitable immediately or at least reduce the amount of money that needs to be spent on the colony,

his funds, although already over sixty billion after the second batch of antimatter technology patent fees and some of his technologies start testing and generating revenue,

when thrown into the mouths of these fully operational yet declining money-guzzling giants, may not even make a sound.

Therefore, he needs to have his plan in place before expansion, which is why he arrived here three days earlier and completed his plan.

The tasks Chen Ming needs to do on this Light Industry Colony are simple.

Because there is no need to change the light industry production system here, this Light Industry Colony’s main production equipment type is manufacturing plastic products and some daily necessities with plastic as the main material.

Plastic is an indispensable component of industry and also a necessity for the colony and the ongoing expansion.

Brilliant relied on the materials required in the expansion process, either brought from Dusk or acquired from his continually profitable ventures.

Now that Chen Ming is about to own his Industrial Colony, he will certainly replace these continually acquired materials with cheaper methods to obtain them.

Producing for self-use starting from lower-cost raw materials is clearly a good choice, and reducing some material costs is definitely achievable.

That’s why Chen Ming prioritized maintenance, as those original industrial facilities are also part of his necessary plan.

He can directly internally consume the outputs of this colony.

Incidentally, he can also use some plastic product industries to recoup some costs, and moreover, he can place those who may still remain on the planet into these less important industries, perfectly meeting Chen Ming’s needs.

However, after completing the tasks at the Light Industry Colony, the tasks at the other Heavy Industry Colony he needs to do will be entirely different.

The other Heavy Industry Colony in the same Star System is located on a non-habitable planet.

A non-habitable planet means maintenance costs are higher, which results in the heavy industry’s decline cased by the Light Industry Colony’s influence, but its state is actually worse than the habitable colony.

The damage to the heavy industry industrial facilities there is more severe, and the population is relatively sparse.

Although it will be a little more convenient for Zuo Jing to handle it later, Chen Ming even dares to personally fund the complete relocation of the entire population of the Heavy Industry Colony to the Light Industry Colony.

Then, he can completely clear out the Heavy Industry Colony, leaving it for himself and his subordinate Dusk to operate the entire colony.

With Dusk managing, Chen Ming believes many things will be much easier.

But that Heavy Industry Colony still has other issues.

Namely, its original basic industrial facilities are for manufacturing civilian spaceship hulls.

After all, it’s not a colony that the Fourteenth Legion originally built itself; it’s a colony acquired from this Star Zone, where most of these industrial facilities were used to help other companies to produce and earn.

Chen Ming does not need civilian spaceship hulls, even if they could be converted to manufacture military spaceship hulls; he doesn’t see it as necessary.

Since he doesn’t need that many spaceships.

Within the Empire, having one operational Stardust Level ship and a small to medium-sized fleet to hunt pirates for pocket money is enough.

And outside the Empire, the number of fleets under his command with Dusk is at saturation.

Further expansion would only increase pressures of all kinds.

And for the small gap of spaceships, rather than producing, Chen Ming would rather buy some materials and build them himself.

Moreover, he will have a larger fleet of Insect Race biological spaceships in the future, so ordinary spaceships are no longer important in Chen Ming’s eyes.
