Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 833: Chapter 245: Unexpected Outcome_3

”The Spiritual Ability Research Institute primarily focuses on researching aspects of Spiritual Energy, such as drugs used by Psychics, Spiritual Weapons, and Psychics themselves are subjects of study.”

”However, He Gu’s research direction is quite unique, it seems to be about the civilian application of Spiritual Ability Technology.”

”But I don’t understand this stuff at all.”

Bai Quan looked Chen Ming up and down and said, ”What do you mean you don’t understand? Isn’t the Purgatory Core an example?”

”I happened to go to find him previously precisely to find suitable users for the Purgatory Core.”

”He seemed interested in the basic effect of the Purgatory Core at that time, which is the controller you made for ordinary people.”

”I feel like his reason for coming to see you now might have something to do with this too.”

Chen Ming was a bit surprised to hear this, as scenes from previous simulations flashed across his mind, where He Gu was asking him those questions: ”So you’re saying he was already interested in me? But I didn’t see it during the simulation.”

”Previously, he was brought by Lou Wei because you didn’t approve of the formula he wrote to calculate Psychic strength, so he was just asking you some questions based on that formula.”

”You gave your reasons, and he had nothing to say, so he sat back and watched the show; the simulation situation wasn’t much related to him.”

”Moreover, he’s not the one responsible for verifying Spiritual Ability Technology at the institute, others do that work, the person responsible for reviewing your Purgatory Core technology wasn’t him, he probably didn’t know about you before.”

”It was later on, when I couldn’t find suitable people to test the Purgatory Core, that he found out when I went to ask for his help.”

”But by then, the simulation was long over.”

Bai Quan explained this to Chen Ming, then suddenly turned around and said, ”Of course, we can’t rule out the possibility that he learned about you beforehand.”

”?”

Bai Quan immediately explained, ”But think about it, even if he knows about your technology, he certainly doesn’t know the limits of your Spiritual Energy.”

”Your speed of progress is so astonishing that anyone might start to doubt, right?”

”If I didn’t know you for a long time, I wouldn’t believe anyone could reach your level.”

”I’ll take that as a compliment.”

Chen Ming accepted Bai Quan’s words, which seemed to be praising his Spiritual Energy, and said, ”In that case, there’s no problem interacting with him, but it should be later.”

Coincidentally, he also had the idea of trading away the Spiritual Power Armor, which the Spiritual Ability Research Institute surely had a connection with the Psychic’s Contribution Points exchange site, maybe he could learn some additional information through He Gu.

If there’s an opportunity to meet again, he could try to chat, but if not, then that’s fine.

The topic about He Gu ended.

Chen Ming also reached Stardust Level.

But just as he was preparing to go for dinner, he suddenly realized something, turned to Bai Quan and said, ”We just met up with someone today, messed with them a bit, and it seems like we haven’t done anything else, so what are we supposed to do next?”

”Indeed, we haven’t done anything, but we don’t need to do anything either.”

”Since we’ve already guided the supervisory department into action, there must be an outcome for this matter that is favorable to us.”

”We just have to wait.”

Chen Ming felt it was a bit odd and asked, ”Is it really alright to not do anything?”

Bai Quan answered naturally, ”Of course it’s fine, we already did what we needed to do previously, what else is there to do now?”

”Why do you always think you must personally do something? These matters only need a start from us, and the rest will be done by others.”

”It’s just a bit different from my habits.”

Chen Ming said slightly awkwardly, ”Sometimes I do delegate tasks, but I generally explain everything clearly and make sure the main purpose is clear, so at least there are no issues with the direction.”

”This time it’s just doing my own thing and letting others decide what to do, it feels... uncomfortable.”

”It gives me the feeling of what if someone doesn’t do their part well?”

Bai Quan was still with the same demeanor and said, ”If they don’t do it well, then have someone fix it. If it’s the kind of situation where one mistake causes the whole thing to fail and can’t be fixed, it shouldn’t be done in that direction in the first place.”

”In normal arrangements, just prepare a backup plan and watch for now. If someone makes a mistake and can’t fix it, replace them; there are always plenty of capable people watching those positions.”

Chen Ming felt Bai Quan’s words were indeed right, but he was still worried about one potential scenario.

”You see, over at Lou Wei’s, wasn’t it because one person didn’t do their part well that it attracted Zuo Jing’s Psychics to assassinate us? Initially, if it were just a small fleet, they wouldn’t have been investigated.”

Bai Quan couldn’t refute Chen Ming’s example and admitted, ”What you’re saying is indeed a problem, but such things are always inevitable, even for Dusk and the Mechanical Race, it’s not like they never make mistakes.”

”At least, make sure those close to us are taken care of, so they don’t cause problems. When a situation arises, just handle the situation itself and don’t get dragged into it.”

”You’ll surely encounter similar situations in the future, you can’t always handle everything personally, so you’ll have to do it this way in the future.”
