Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 824: Chapter 243: Theft (Part 2)

”Chen Ming himself has always deliberately hidden his Spiritual Energy Fluctuation, leaving no traces behind. Unless I engage him directly, it’s impossible to extract.

”So cautious... Are you still able to gather other intelligence?”

”Yes, there are still many things he can’t hide.”

The Psychic responded, saying, ”Chen Ming possesses a very strong Spiritual Stone, not yet close to the ’Spiritual’ level in strength, but the remaining traces suggest it’s of an extremely radical type.”

”With Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy there, he will definitely have mastered some ways of manufacturing the Mind Pulse Device and will surely use it as an attack method.”

”To get close to Chen Ming, one must adapt to the Mind Pulse; Black Mist seems to have suffered in this regard.”

”However, Chen Ming’s close combat ability should not be strong.”

The person on the other end of the phone asked, ”How can you tell?”

The Psychic squatted down, rubbing his fingertip on the sandy soil, revealing a few drops of blood that had solidified and fused with the sand.

He captured this and sent it over, saying, ”Black Mist was injured and bleeding but not seriously.”

”A professional close-range assassin was forced over here, either killed or captured alive, with only minor injuries on him. If Chen Ming’s close combat ability were strong, it wouldn’t make sense.”

”With the support of that extreme Spiritual Stone, Black Mist should have been directly killed on the spaceship, so I believe Chen Ming’s close combat ability is definitely not strong.”

”If there is a next time, get a Psychic with strong physical abilities.”

The Psychic patted the dust off his hands, stood up, and continued, ”Also, the quantity of Chen Ming’s Spiritual Power is immeasurable, far surpassing Psychics of the same period. This supports my guess about Chen Ming’s close combat power.”

”Because the Spiritual Energy Fluctuation and Spiritual Power left by Black Mist here show signs of instability, which can only be caused by an instantaneous burst of a massive amount of Spiritual Power.”

”Black Mist doesn’t have the means to unleash such a large amount of Spiritual Power; the only possibility is a clash of Spiritual Power.”

”And it must have been initiated by Chen Ming.”

The Psychic suddenly said affirmatively.

”Black Mist had no problem at first getting close to Chen Ming. It’s very difficult to defend against someone you don’t know, but his initial assassination failed.”

”Dragged into a direct confrontation by Chen Ming, but Chen Ming’s main combat power must be on the spaceship. He can’t gain the upper hand in Spiritual Energy against the close-combat specialized Black Mist.”

”Unable to gain an advantage in Spiritual Energy, and no way to win in a brawl, the Spiritual Stone can’t completely secure victory, so he seems to only have this method.”

”Chen Ming’s close combat ability is certainly quite poor. He probably saw that Black Mist’s total Spiritual Power is low, so he acted this way.”

”Either Black Mist chickened out, or he lost.”

”It should be he chickened out; otherwise, the state of his Spiritual Energy Fluctuation would be worse.”

”No.”

”He should have directly died on the spaceship.”

”Surviving barely after he chickened out, he hid underground on the planet, but Chen Ming followed him, capturing Black Mist with almost no resistance.”

”This should be the process that happened on Black Mist’s side.”

”If there’s going to be another move against Chen Ming, it’s best to have cooperation among three Psychics.”

”One responsible for approaching, one for dealing with Chen Ming’s Spiritual Stone, and the last for melee combat.”

The person on the other end of the phone fell silent again and then said after a long time, ”Such demanding conditions.”

The Psychic shrugged and said, ”This is what I can analyze, and actually, Black Mist could have done it alone, his Spiritual Power just couldn’t support the tasks of three people.”

”Is it really worth sacrificing a Psychic to do this?”

The person on the other end said, ”If Black Mist comes back alive, even if the assassination fails, it’s worth it.”

”Since we have obtained Chen Ming’s whereabouts, knowing where Chen Ming is going, we definitely have to try.”

”We can either attempt to assassinate Chen Ming or create trouble for Hu Yi, or even antagonize another faction of the Fourteenth Legion. Why not do it?”

The Psychic evidently disagreed with the other end’s perspective. He said to the phone, ”But unfortunately, Black Mist is dead.”

”Who would have thought the one most suited for assassination, with the best escape ability, would fall at Chen Ming’s hands?”

”He must question his best escape ability, so what’s next? What now?”

The phone was quiet for a while before saying, ”Come back; don’t continue thinking about making a move on Chen Ming. We have few Psychics; we must think over a more perfect plan.”

”We’ve already acted against Chen Ming; even if we don’t move next, the Fourteenth Legion will surely argue among themselves.”

”If it leads to an internal conflict, that would be ideal. Weakening anyone is beneficial to us.”

The Psychic glanced at the terminal, hung up the phone, and muttered to himself, ”I’m not counting on such an event happening.”

As he spoke, his figure sank into shadow, disappearing on the planet.

The surrounding Black Mist gradually dispersed without leaving any trace.

At this moment, aboard the Stardust Level.

Chen Ming regretfully watched the Black Mist dissipate; it’s a pity the camera wasn’t concealed well enough, only obtaining a bit of intelligence.

But now there’s no use in regret; it can’t change what happened.
