Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 823: Chapter 243: Theft

Not long after Chen Ming boarded, the Stardust Level restarted and set sail, leaving this Star System.

Chen Ming needed to deal with the things that had just been found on the body search.

Bai Quan also needed to go and calm down the few attendants Chen Ming had just tossed out of the ship, record this accidental incident, and by the way dump the blame onto Lou Wei.

Although it was unlikely that Lou Wei’s side would really pull something like this at a time like this, who could guarantee that none of the people over there had ideas of their own?

The blame definitely had to be pinned on them; that could win them discourse power and more benefits for what they were going to do next.

Besides, after he and Chen Ming departed, the specific covert route of action was known only to him, Chen Ming, and the people on Lou Wei’s side.

The attendants, even his own secretary, had no idea about this.

The only ones who could have leaked the ship’s navigation route were people on Lou Wei’s side; going to give them trouble was completely justified.

And half an hour after Chen Ming piloted the ship away from that Star System—

On the habitable Planet within the Star System, in the shadows of the rocks near the spot where the Black Mist Spirit Ability User had been captured, a human silhouette suddenly surfaced.

His body was also suffused with Black Mist, as if he too were a Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

However, the Black Mist around him dispersed very quickly, unlike the Black Mist Spirit Ability User who had remained shrouded in it for a long time, revealing a strikingly handsome face.

In the palm of his left hand, which was missing a little finger, several Glass Beads of different colors turned between his fingers.

The newly arrived Psychic stepped out of the shadows and immediately noticed the huge traces left by the Stardust Level when it landed.

He glanced a few times at the landing marks, then walked over to the spot where Chen Ming had captured the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

Here he saw again that deep pit that looked like it had been dug up from underground to the surface, as well as the footprints of two robots beside the pit leading all the way to the ship’s landing marks.

The Psychic’s expression did not change at all as he put away the Glass Beads he had been playing with.

He took out a terminal, took photos and video of all these traces, and after sending off the recordings, he dialed a number.

But he hung up the call almost immediately.

His gaze suddenly locked onto the underside of a nearby rock.

He strode forward and from a small corner under the rock found a clearly newly manufactured micro surveillance probe.

The Psychic immediately crushed this monitoring device, which was no bigger than a little fingertip, underfoot, then lifted his head and swept his gaze around.

Right now he had no way to be sure whether there was a second or even more of Chen Ming’s surveillance devices nearby.

He could only frown and slip his hand into his coat pocket.

A surge of Black Mist suddenly burst out from his body, shrouding the entire area in darkness, and this Black Mist also had the ability to cut off sound, completely eliminating the possibility of Chen Ming’s surveillance.

At this moment, already on the ship, Chen Ming could only mutter what a pity.

Although his Spiritual Energy did not strictly require a surveillance structure to monitor an area—so long as there was a trace of the matter he controlled with his Spiritual Energy left behind, even if it was only a single Iron Atom, he could use that Iron Atom to some extent to observe the surroundings—

right now, within the Black Mist, he truly couldn’t see anything.

Fortunately, his casual arrangements had still yielded a bit of information.

That Psychic and the Glass Beads he carried on him definitely had everything to do with his ability to use the Black Mist Spiritual Energy of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

Inside the Black Mist, the Psychic dialed the number again.

The moment the call connected, he said, ”Chen Ming left some tricks here. The way I look right now has already been seen.”

A muffled, processed voice came from the other end of the line: ”It doesn’t matter. What about the Black Mist?”

”Already found it. The last traces of his Spiritual Energy Fluctuation remained right here.”

”But I estimate he’s either dead or taken alive. Whichever it is, we probably won’t be seeing him again in the future.”

When the other side of the call fell silent at this news—

the Psychic groped in his pocket and took out a pitch-black, damaged Glass Bead.

He casually tossed the broken Glass Bead onto the ground, then reached into another pocket of his coat and took out a handful of Glass Beads identical to the clear, transparent ones Chen Ming had previously searched out from the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

His own Spiritual Energy Fluctuation gradually gathered on these transparent beads, and under the stimulus of this Spiritual Energy, the beads suddenly began to absorb the remaining Spiritual Energy Fluctuation belonging to the Black Mist Spirit Ability User in this place.

Out of the handful of Glass Beads, three gradually turned utterly pitch-black during the absorption process, just like that black bead Chen Ming had taken from the Black Mist Spirit Ability User before.

The Psychic picked out the three pitch-black Glass Beads and put them into another pocket; after stowing away all the remaining beads, he muttered to himself, ”It’s a pity his Spiritual Energy could only be used three times. Now it’s going out of print; it was actually pretty handy.”

Upon hearing this, the voice on the other end of the line immediately said, ”What about Chen Ming’s residual Spiritual Energy Fluctuation?”

The Psychic’s gaze instinctively swept around him, then passed over the remains of the surveillance device not far away, completely shrouded in Black Mist: ”None.”

”None? Didn’t he leave something on you?”

”Leaving something doesn’t mean he left Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.”

”I already noticed before: when his Spiritual Energy acts on anything, there are no Spiritual Energy Fluctuations at all. His Spiritual Energy only produces Spiritual Energy Fluctuation at the moment it’s triggered.”
