Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”This really is...”

Chen Ming was currently standing at the top of an abandoned industrial building, looking into the distance at the situation near the warehouse.

He spoke to Bai Quan, who was dealing with the matter near the warehouse and in a call with him: ”Even at a time like this, such things still happen. I originally thought they would only pull off some minor stunts, but to directly make off with a quarter of the supplies wasn’t something I expected.”

”I didn’t expect it either.”

Bai Quan’s tone also carried some confusion: ”Things have reached this point. Generally speaking, it should be enough to bow out quietly. I really can’t understand what they’re thinking.”

”Maybe they don’t want to live anymore.”

Chen Ming casually remarked, then asked Bai Quan: ”So what’s going to happen with that Major General Song?”

Bai Quan ignored Chen Ming’s offhand comment and responded to the latter half of Chen Ming’s question: ”He’s fine. He just couldn’t handle the sudden situation earlier but has already been revived.”

”His most involvement in this situation is just some collateral responsibility. As long as I can protect him, he’ll still be a Major General and will become more reliant on me.”

”I see. Then I’m quite curious about why you need this old man in his sixties or seventies.”

”Because he has experience. Although I’ve figured out some things, many issues can’t be resolved just by thinking them through. Without experience, one might still fall into some traps. I need someone to help me in these areas.”

”Oh.”

Chen Ming responded again, choosing not to continue asking about Major General Song, but instead inquired about the recent incident.

”I’m actually quite curious about how these people managed to steal supplies from such a warehouse. Even at a time like this, it’s not like they wouldn’t be able to keep an eye on such a big issue, right?”

Bai Quan was already used to Chen Ming’s scattered thinking and answered: ”No need to think about it, it absolutely must have been orchestrated by someone internally, and the person who orchestrated it must have significant authority.”

Chen Ming also agreed with Bai Quan’s point, saying, ”I’m very curious about who exactly did this, and I’m also curious if these people have any connection with Zuo Jing.”

”I don’t know if there’s any connection with Zuo Jing, but I do know that their faction’s Vice Admiral has an illegitimate child.”

”Although he had a child at an older age, the illegitimate child can’t be publicly exposed, so his relationship with the illegitimate child isn’t very good.”

Chen Ming asked, somewhat surprised: ”You even know about that?”

”Since they’re adversaries, of course I have to investigate.”

Chen Ming asked again: ”Then, even if he’s the Vice Admiral’s illegitimate child, why would he come to such a deserted place?”

”I don’t know why he came, but he certainly did. Earlier, I checked, and his identity is indeed recorded in the colonial entry and exit management records.”

”Don’t forget the situation in these two colonies. The management of entry and exit is still quite strict, so he has indeed been here.”

”And according to previous testimonies from those security guards, he did give the people who came to the warehouse permission to take away a large quantity of supplies.”

”For what reason?”

”Maybe for those supplies? After all, they’re materials for maintaining and expanding a medium to large colony, quite valuable.”

”However, this reason still doesn’t quite add up. We need to investigate further.”

”So how do we deal with these missing supplies?”

”Such a large batch of supplies couldn’t be moved in just a few days; they must be hidden somewhere in the colony.”

”Perhaps in those abandoned industrial buildings or those abandoned residential areas outside the industrial zone.”

Hearing Bai Quan’s speculation, Chen Ming instinctively swept his gaze over the surrounding industrial buildings.

He shook his head and said to Bai Quan: ”We can rule out the industrial zone. When I first noticed the discrepancy in the amount of supplies, I already went and secured the entire industrial zone. None of the buildings have those supplies; they must be hidden outside.”

”Outside? If you’re sure they’re outside... if we concentrate manpower to search, we should find results within three days.”

”The efficiency is a bit low.”

”It is indeed low,” Bai Quan admitted. ”Mainly, the manpower that can be mobilized is quite limited. No one is willing to invest too much in such a place.”

”Lou Wei’s faction only agreed to send people because of the situation. Otherwise, it might just be the two of us handling these issues.”

Chen Ming clicked his tongue in displeasure and said: ”Forget it then, I might as well handle it myself.”

At this point, Bai Quan also noticed Chen Ming at the top of a distant building. He looked at Chen Ming’s location and asked: ”How do you plan on doing it? By securing all those residential areas outside?”

”My abilities aren’t exaggerated enough to control just any building... unless there’s a mechanical structure inside like the ones used for transporting goods in warehouses.”

”I’m just planning to make some robots to assist with the work, and meanwhile, let my Dusk core control these robots; the efficiency should be quite high.”

”I’ll go help you apply for communication permissions.”

”No need.”

Chen Ming didn’t trouble Bai Quan: ”I can be the communication base station myself.”

”Just let the others know and tell them not to be anxious after this.”

”Okay.”

Bai Quan agreed to it.

Chen Ming soon saw from afar that Bai Quan suddenly attracted everyone’s attention.

After the crowd dispersed again, Chen Ming relaxed and started using his materials near the warehouse to build robots one by one.

Relying on his Spiritual Energy, Brilliant quickly took control of most of the robots.
