Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 803: Chapter 238: Completion

After Chen Ming had a complete concept.

The design of the ”battle” special operations unit turned out to be the simplest among the three design requirements.

The Insect Queen only spent a few hours using the accumulated biological technology to create an actual sample.

Although the initial sample was somewhat crude, under the effect of Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy, all unreasonable and imperfect parts were completely erased through deep maintenance.

Standing at the deepest point of the Insect Nest was a terrifying creature with a small body, only about three meters tall, but with strong intimidating power.

Clearly, it was motionless, yet the danger it emitted could cause some insects deep within the Insect Nest to deliberately stay away even without the Insect Queen’s special commands.

Moreover, saying it’s small is relative to other units of the Insect Race.

A height of around three meters from a human perspective is no longer considered small.

The appearance of this special operations unit somewhat resembles the Insect Race Power Armor Chen Ming made before, overall having a humanoid look.

But compared to the composite structure of machinery and insects in Power Armor, it’s more streamlined, lacking some aggressive spikes.

Only near the joints or underneath the limb armor used for close combat are there a few retractable, unobtrusive spikes.

Because Chen Ming found out that the blunt impact from extreme force sometimes has a stronger killing effect than sharp weapons, hence this design.

This is exactly what Chen Ming wanted.

And until the finished product emerged, only two final issues remained for Chen Ming to resolve.

One of them was an issue Chen Ming discovered when he first started designing ”battle.”

It was that the consciousness of ordinary units of the Insect Race couldn’t support such a powerful body, their consciousness couldn’t bear the intensity needed to maneuver this body.

To make this body move, either the Insect Queen’s consciousness must be brought in, or Chen Ming himself had to take charge.

Chen Ming wasn’t troubled by this issue, as this body was certainly meant for him or the Insect Queen to control.

And whether it was him or the Insect Queen, it was almost the same.

Plus, the Insect Queen itself wasn’t very adept in combat, it heavily relied on the advantage in numbers for most fights, then countered move by move.

Evolve a suitable insect when needed, and that’s about it.

After all, the Insect Queen’s body is bloated like a big insect, sitting in the heart of the Biological Spaceship, entirely unlike it has combat capabilities.

Instead, it was Chen Ming who, during the simulation fighting with Cheng Xinghai, was deeply impressed by the whip leg that almost kicked him to death.

So recently, he managed to learn a few combat moves from the army with Bai Quan, at least not entirely defenseless in hand-to-hand combat.

Combat experience certainly surpasses the purely commanding Insect Queen from the rear.

Unfortunately, the consciousness strength of those insects relying purely on the Insect Race’s brutal instincts for battle wasn’t enough, otherwise, in a fight, Chen Ming would let those insects take over this body directly.

Thus finally, this special operations unit was controlled by Chen Ming himself.

Just as he wished.

The second issue was Chen Ming wanting the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy effects to be permanently present on this special operations unit.

The Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy is purely a physical enhancement.

And as for the Insect Queen itself, besides the efficacy of greatly improving physical attributes when the Spiritual Energy is activated, even when it’s not active, the Insect Queen’s physical attributes also have a noticeable increase.

Chen Ming wasn’t expecting this passive effect, but he strongly hoped this active effect could be consistently applied to the special operations unit.

Moreover, this shouldn’t require the Insect Queen to constantly focus on this body, nor Chen Ming to continuously maintain borrowing the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy.

It’s just to ensure the effect of this Spiritual Energy always exists on this body.

Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t work, due to the Spiritual Energy’s effect combining Spiritual Energy Fluctuation and Spiritual Power.

Spiritual Power dissipates, and once it does, maintaining Spiritual Energy Fluctuation becomes impossible.

So Chen Ming had already thought of the solution to this problem during the Purgatory Core research.

Since the design of the Purgatory Core involves using isolating materials to bind the Spiritual Power needed for maintaining Spiritual Energy Fluctuation within the core.

Although Chen Ming still can’t fully replicate the Purgatory Core, creating a core for the Insect Race capable of stabilizing or amplifying the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy is beyond reach.

But he can still make a device to confine Spiritual Power using materials from the Purgatory Core.

Luckily, Chen Ming currently has plenty of resources he can apply for.

Applying for new Purgatory Core, or applying for some Spiritual Materials used to create the Purgatory Core, is quite simple.

This can fully satisfy the materials needed for long-term confinement of Spiritual Power within the special operations unit’s body.

However, along with this demand being met,

maintaining Spiritual Energy Fluctuation is also a crucial point.

Because, similar to how Spiritual Power naturally dissipates, Spiritual Energy Fluctuation, making up part of Spiritual Energy, can also be naturally erased when active.

During the design of the Purgatory Core, Spiritual Energy Fluctuation is solidified using Spiritual Materials and special structures, so simply using external materials solves the Spiritual Power problem.

But since Chen Ming can’t completely replicate the Purgatory Core, especially the most complex and challenging core part, he must resort to other means to attempt solidifying the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.
